Hate speech is free speech and I will never accept "love" forced down my throat to silence me. You don't like this thread, plenty of other Internet out there.

This is the most comically rabid post I've seen in any forum in a long time.

Really, lighten up guys. Do any of you know the specifics of his seizure disorder? What triggers them? Then why are you dictating what he can and can't do?

Oh look, it's the political correctness crowd.
I have a physical disability, I drag my ass around on crutches and yeah it's hard, but I don't use it as an excuse.

Yes, because all physical disabilities are identical. /s

So much hatred over a guy sitting in a chair on a street corner.

Congratulations on your 17th post in 6 years!

This must of really ticked you off.

LOL

Not especially, but I found the unable to work line a bit contradicting to camping out for a week. I'm glad the I got the attention of the discussion board statisticians.

what would be funny is if on launch day he walks in the store and they say sorry there is no reservation for you...must have been a computer error...lmao

To Hate = Jealousy...

Again, logic.

This guy is so disabled he can't work, yet he can sit around on a street corner for a week?

That reeks of ********. I don't pretend to be an expert in his disability, but simply thinking about it instead of going "oh no we can't question that, it's not nice, everyone tread softly around the disabled people so we don't offend anyone" shows the flaws in what he said.

And seriously everyone stop being so afraid of offending people with disabilities. It's just a part of who we are and y'know, you can question it just like you can question things about people who aren't disabled.

And if people disabled people get offended about that stuff, good for them, it's because they're dicks, not because they're disabled.

It's amazing how many hypocritical ****ing morons are in this thread.

He is apparently "pathetic" for lining up for a week outside the store. Almost everyone else is sitting on their arse at home following every iPhone 4 news story like this one and posting minutes after it's published! At least he has left the house. (Compare his attitude with some of the other unemployed people in society and you will find he is far from the pathetic end of the spectrum.)

On a lighter note, did anyone else lol at this:
There is even a portable toilet around the back of the store if needed.
If needed. I don't think even the best could hold it in for a week. :D

If the guy was looking to make a buck he could sell his space in line a few hours before the launch. He'd have to wait for the iPhone for probably a month but he'd probably make quite a profit.

Call it what you want, when you don't have a job but you can afford to buy a phone and pay WHATEVER the monthly bill will be in this day in age... ironic.

And it became my business when he set up camp, someone writes a story and it winds up online and into my Google Reader headlines. 15 seconds of fame, everyone wants it :)

Logic: there is a difference between doing nothing in a chair and doing a job.

We aren't defending the guy because he has a disability, we're defending him because he's a quirky dude doing something fun. Your time might be better spent pulling up a chair and joining him. Get some sun and have some conversation rather than trolling macrumors and posting hate speech. At least then you'd have an iPhone to show for your trouble.

How many of us sitting on our arse will get up at some point to go work at a job? How many unemployed people are camping out for an iPhone?

Hypocritical is as hypocritical does.

Seriously! The guy has honest intentions and is nice enough to explain his motives. Would you rather it be a group of ten people who plan to eBay them the second they get their hands on them, or some guy that doesn't have much else to do that really likes Apple and has a legacy with the store?

If you send money to this guy to his PayPal account, then it will be worth his time.

Anyone that is in line to buy units to resell, my hat is off to you! You need to make a buck anyway. IMO this welfare state will probably end soon.

Well meaning "public servants" are usually quickly forgotten with some master organizer profiting on the side with "volunteers" having token rewards like getting a cheap leather jacket for a thousand hours of volunteer work (a few of you get that.)

Seen enough charities exposed and had their non-profit status removed for the charity paying "service fees" to a for profit owned by the same organizers.

Look at it this way,

He has an extremely low cost holiday for the week,
He is going to get lots of sun and a nice tan,
enjoy the fresh air,
meet new and interesting people,
become famous for 15 minutes.
...might even get a door prize from apple store for his persistence.
Not bad. It's not sad, is innovative. :p

(also, he sounds like a student, so he is probably on his summer break anyway)

Hate speech? Get the **** over yourself.

And yeah, I guess I should go and join the dude on a streetcorner to get an iPhone, rather than being in Japan like I am at the moment, on holiday for 2 months with my girlfriend. Sounds like a great plan.

I have no problem with him doing what he is, but not working due to his disability sounds like an excuse, and all the kneejerk reactions I'm seeing in this thread simply due to the word "disability" are ****ing ridiculous.

Oh, I'm loving it. Some true colors are coming out and I'm keeping score over who is worth it.

So much hatred over a guy sitting in a chair on a street corner.

There are ligitimate issues here. Disability Fraud is a big issue in many communities. There are cases where parents have intentionally underfed children to keep the subsidy checks. If I knew this guy that says he can't work but can stay in line for a week, afford an iPhone 4 plus monthly bill and post here, I would be suspicious.

Then I'd find out where his HH&S office is, call in about a possible disability fraud and at least get the guy a medical reexamination. There are a lot of people on permanent disability not because they can't work but because the don't want to work and live off working folks money.

Cest la ger!

I hope they give him a free macbook (to stop him coming in and stinking up the place all day - where is he showeing?)

This thread is hilarious! People honestly have hate for a guy camping out for something he's passionate about? There must be a lot of Macrumors members who weren't hugged enough as children...

Why are you on holiday and not at work?????? I hope you have a valid reason and that you will be able to defend yourself when all of macrumors questions your motivation!!!!!

Btw, you should probably do some ranting in the guy's original thread. It's all nice and complimentary over there... totally unacceptable. /s

Sooo much anger :). Lighten. up. I'm sure your "girlfriend" would appreciate some attention.

Look mate, the thing that makes me angry is that people like yourself are bringing up terms like "hate speech" when all that other posters are doing is questioning why he can sit around on a street corner but apparently can't work?

Political correctness? Or just being scared to confront something you've had no experience with in a non-emotional way?
