Is this legal?

I wonder if I set up a campsite and tent on a city street if the cops would just smile wave and drive on by? I mean I think this is totally stupid but it has to be illegal?

Wait he does have a job...

"I have been the first costumer for this store since 2008..."

Some sort of franchise renting clothes out in the Apple store I assume?

Good find! Since it's not a holiday for a few more weeks he can afford the vacation. Then to use that iPhone 4 to book all the Uncle Sam costumes, I'm guessing.

i like how people assume they know the extent of this persons disability, Just because they can sit somewhere and "camp" for a week does not mean they are healthy, hes not in the woods cutting down trees. There is a good chance that this person has seizures daily on a regular basis, which makes it tough to have a regular job. Also this persons life is at a point where he considers sitting for a week a vacation and people still have negative things to say about him. People on this board are so negative that i often assume they are not happy with their own lives. This kid probably has severe medical issues that will be with him until he dies from them. i guarantee the people talking ***** never known somebody who has seizures, its not a pretty thing.

The job market doesn't provide a job this guy can perform, yet the goods market provides goods he'll line up to buy. Our priority seems to be selling stuff.

what about in uk

am not sure, how this thing of queing in UK will be ? Hope its not this crazy here in UK.

Oh. My. Goodness.

Perhaps it is you people (not all of you; targeted at those who are saying some unpleasant things) which need to get a life.

If he wants to camp outside an Apple store for a week, then let him do it. There are no facts which need questioning, so stop treating this news article as an investigation; there is no need to "apply logic" or "ask questions". If he wishes to do it, then let him.

By all means, offer and give your opinion, but please don't present your opinions as facts; a lot of you seem to be missing the "I think" or "In my opinion" part. What constitutes to being a "douche" or an "idiot" is entirely your opinion; there are no set "standards" for being a douche, so please do me a favour and edit your posts, or at least have the decency to use the "I think" or "In my opinion" pre-fixes to your sentences in the future.

I'm sorry if I appear to be rude, but I assure you that I have no intention of being rude; it just pees me off when people present their opinions as facts, particularly on a message board like this, whereby almost all members seem to be intelligent individuals.

The guy isn't blowing people up with bombs, raping women or murdering children. So what's he doing wrong?

Leave him alone. It's his choice, he has a right to do it if it makes him happy.

Judging others on your own viewpoints never works out.

Not something I'd do but to each his own. I've stood in line on launch day for each iPhone release. It's cost me a few hours over the last few years but it's been fun and worth the effort.

I'm sure each of us "wastes time" on things others view as trivial. Imagine spending hundreds of dollars a year on a cable football or baseball package and watching every game. I have a friend who gets up every morning and drives to the news stand and buys 7 different newspapers and reads them all cover to cover, no matter how redundant. My neighbors lawn looks like a golf course and it takes him 3 times longer per week to make it look that way then any of the rest of us spend on routine maintenance.

There are lots of truly disabling medical conditions. Hope you never get one and pray for those that suffer.

He's entitled to do whatever he wants. True. What's also true is that we're all entitled to voice our opinions. :)

I actually think this it's kind of cool that he will be posting about his experience there. It will be interesting to follow him during the week. Does anyone know if he has a blog set up for this or even a twitter account so we can follow him?

- Guy has a disability that prevents him from working : Fact stated by himself
- Guy with said disability and no paying job is waiting in line for a 2000$ over 2 years product : Fact as witnessed by this article
- Guy with said disability is a "student" so can do some kind of "office" work it seems : Fact stated in the article

Questionning the fact that a person so disabled they can't work is sitting in the hot june sun for a week while taking in tax payer dollars for a gadget he doesn't need : "Disability fraud potential" written all over it, IN MY AND OTHER'S OPINION.

Better now mister touchy feely ?

This story stinks as much as this guy will next week on launch day.

So wait, it's safer for him to have a seizure on the sidewalk at 3 a.m. in front of the Apple Store instead of somewhere where he's being supervised by other people ?

Keep them dollars rolling for the "disabled".

No wonder we honest tax paying folk never get a break, the political correct crowd would prefer to live in a box under a bridge than risk offending some guy who pretends he's disabled, IN MY OPINION.

Oh, I'm sorry, I mistook this message board as MacRumors. Silly me, I appear to have ended up on the BustaThief message board.

Exactly, this I will agree with. Why are we even discussing this, what does this even remotely have to do with Apple products ? This is just disability fraud in the making.

It's not disability fraud. You know nothing about him. Unless you are his doctor and helped facilitate disability fraud.

Hey everyone, let's grill KnightWRX who is clearly an accessory to fraud!

So stop discussing it if you don't like the discussion. You're not required to participate in the discussion, you know.

The "fact" that he's collecting tax dollars exists only in your fevered imagination. My guess is it's the parents doing the supporting, in which case it's really none of your business, is it?

I've read it over and over again, but I can't find where he says he is on disability benefits?

There's a lot of bashing on the assumption that he is claiming people's 'hard earned tax dollar', but no where does he state that or even allude to it. He may be one of the fortunate few who has a private income; it's not inconceivable.

While I agree that remarking on having disability and spending a week camping may raise a few questions, I am not in full possession of the facts, and I'm not about to judge the guy on spurious speculation.

Hence why I said "IN MY OPINION" many times like nicely asked by zin. What's wrong with stating my opinion ?

Who cares who's providing for him anyway, someone obviously is since ain't no way the iPhone is free. And that someone is getting seriously abused, IN MY AND OTHER'S OPINION.

As long as the thread is here, might as well comment. The best thing would have been never to put up the news piece or thread in the first place. This is just enabling the guy, giving him his 15 minutes. IN MY OPINION.
