You know it’s a bad sign when they don’t define what all day battery life is and then debut their custom designed battery case. I am guessing the battery life isn’t very good.

It has the same battery life as iPhone 16 Pro. I'd hardly call that bad. We all lived with that just fine.

I don’t really understand why it exists? Kind of a middle ground between 17 and 17 Pro? Instead of the 17 plus I guess? I just don’t get it.

If you don't understand something as simple as this, what good could possible come out of asking the internet to explain it to you?

One huge thing the Air has going for it is that it’s less spectacularly ugly than the 17 Pro…

For real though, I think a lot of people still want phones that can be carried without a backpack and this is a step in the right direction.

Man, I’m all in on this air! I don’t need all these fancy camera features that I don’t use. My camera is just a utility. If you want a camera for pro stuff get the pro stuff otherwise this air ticks all the boxes for daily use and fun.

From apple iphone comparision site the video playback time is same as the 16 pro. Thats better than expected.
The weight on the other side is not that impressive. Its just 5 grams lighter than the 16. the 12 was 1 gram lighter than the Air.

5 grams lighter but with a 6.55” display vs 6.12” of the 16.

Personally I don't watch much video content or listen to much audio content on my phone's speaker. And I never have the ringer on. So my speaker is really only used for... alarms?

The Air is the best and most essential bits of a phone distilled into the lightest package possible, in a premium build.

It's not that light, the weight is practically the same as the iPhone 16e, and significantly heavier than the iPhone mini was. Also, if you count the camera lens, the 16e is actually thinner than the Air. So you really must want the larger screen size.

It had iPods Harddrive and SSD was +$1000 and it had so many hardware failures in general. 2009 MacBook Airs were a lot better.
That's why people criticized it and crticize it even now, not because it was thin and "revolutionary"

I was very much set on the Air over Pro, but then found out the Air can't shoot DNG per Apple's tech specs. It's only available on the Pro. A bummer.

How would the iPhone Air camera compare to my iPhone 15 base model?

My iPhone 15 camera mostly meets my needs. I've noticed the zoom in isn't the greatest but I don't take many pictures.
