Start your own company, create your own phone and your own operating system. You say you want freedom? Well Apple deserves freedom too, why are you trying to take away Apple's freedom? I think Tim Cook should come to macrumors to start a thread about SakuraSuki is trying to take away his freedom.

Am i taken away Apple's freedom, simply suggesting that Apple should open up downgrade so some people dissatisfied with new firmware could downgrade to older one?

Customer is god, not the company. You treat Apple as God and customer have to follow whatever Apple does and simple objection is labelled as taking Apple's freedom away.

This is so funny. Chinese government did not strip away Google's operation in China. Google's withdraw from China just simply their choice. Then they made themselves as victim of China's censorship.

Google itself is not clean. Google should seriously consider clean their ass before attacking other country.

----------

No, I do agree there are much bigger problems than phone firmware. But at core, there is no difference.

Freedom is freedom, there is no bigger freedom or small freedom. If my freedom of choice being taken away, then one aspect of freedom being take away.

It is like saying who kills more: chemical weapon or nuclear weapon. Killing is killing, there is no good killing or bad killing.

Seems that you choose not to see the link a posted a few minutes ago...

Internet censorship in the People's Republic of China

Not to mention, YOU HAD THE CHOICE NOT TO UPGRADE.

If you get a DUI, you don't get the choice to do it over again and take a taxi. You chose to upgrade, you agreed to the EULA. Not a single right of yours was violated in any single way. If you disagree then you should sue apple and see how far you get.

----------

The only issue is that there is no where in EULA said I could not downgrade.

You are reading it wrong.

Dude, I am Chinese. I was living in China over 25 years, I know what looks like in China more than you do.

We have blog, we have twitter, we have everything. People are free to discuss everything they want.

But there are some rule:

1. You are not allowed to access porn site.

2. You are not allowed to discussion anything that related with separatism, like Taiwan, Tibet, Xinjiang separatism.

3. You are not allowed to discussion anything that is unlawful.

I am pretty sure there are censorship in USA, Canada as well.

You think you know.... But you don't, because you are being censored by your government.

----------

Lol at you trying to edit your post. Too slow haha

Disallowing me use my right of choice is violation of human right. It might sound small, but it has no difference.

I recommend you go back to school because you don't know what in the world you are talking about. You have no "right to choice" on something that YOU agree to the terms and conditions for from another company. Plain and simple as that.

There are countries around the entire world that deny their people the "right of choice" of every aspect in every day life. Yet you are complaining about a stupid OS upgrade. That is absolutely disgusting, talk about entitled first world problems. Why don't you be happy you can own a device like this. I bet you there are over 50 million people in Africa that don't even own an iPhone, let alone know what one is.

...But your viewpoint is honestly just disturbing and hopefully not representative of society's view of what a human right is. If it is, we all have much much bigger problems than phone firmware.

I think you're closer to the truth than you realize.

I know it can always be said about a younger generation but these kids today... just... I can't even say it here.

I would like to add that, during the beta phase (using my iphone 4s and 5), I tried to warn others about how iOS7 was not a great upgrade atleast for me, it was not going to sit well with many others as well. But the forums here are so full of hate and apple fanboy-ism - members just retaliated by saying that I was giving out false information and iOS7 is amazing - sugar spice and everything nice. Yet, my point was, many people will wakeup, click upgrade and boom, no way for them to downgrade. They will be stuck and it was wrong for us to defend iOS7 blindly. We needed to highlight weaknesses of the OS by sharing the opinions instead of rating down threads which contradict the fanboy-ism here.

Yes, obviously I have the "choice" of sharing my opinion on another website but being a true Apple user for ages, I have very high opinion of macrumors and its community. Providing positive criticism is extremely useful. I also feel many of the top tech sites have given a false positive feedback on iOS7 which allowed people to have high expectations of the OS. Atleast with theVerge, I knew Josh T. shared his negative opinion of the OS and I believe he was the only one with some street cred to do it.

Now that iOS7 is the law of the land, rather just accept it and move on. Yes you have learned apple's - my way or the highway approach, so bare that in mind when the next upgrade cycle arrives.

Also such comments as "dont let the door hit you" "bye" "who asked you to upgrade" - just childish unconstructive responses, prime example of lack of maturity through out the forum nowdays.

It's not all of us, I'm not exactly a kid, but I'm probably in the generation you are talking about at 28. Unfortunately I see it everywhere, old people, young people. Just sad.

I remember your post, and like I said in my prior postings, even though I prefer the upgrade, I understand people's frustration that they don't have the ability to downgrade. I can also see Apple's position in why the don't have a longer window. But for someone to say their rights as a human are being violated because of it, yes, who asked you to upgrade and bye are going to be the responses. If that makes me immature than so be it.

Well, I will agree, "human rights" is taking it alil too far, lol. So we do have our agreements.

It's not all of us, I'm not exactly a kid, but I'm probably in the generation you are talking about at 28. Unfortunately I see it everywhere, old people, young people. Just sad.

I'm almost 28 myself. Agree with you 100%, though. Really sad what has become of humanity.

Other worldly beings look down at us and shake their heads, I'm sure. "The technology was just too much for them while they were in their infancy. Let's just scrap this test run and move on to the next test tube."

We live in a free society, we are entitled to have choice. You choice whoever is your president, you choice whether Android, iOS, BlackBerry or whatever. We ask for freedom and we see freedom of choice is important part of our society. However, this choice is suddenly not applicable for Apple.

Seriously, I brought the god damn device, I have freedom on destroying it, abuse it, cook it, using it, rollback to older version of iOS, upgrading to newer iOS if I wish to. Why should Apple impose restriction on rolling back to older version? What is the reason behind it? Keep user not rolling back to older version so that it appears everybody are using he latest version of OS?

Yes, some people updated to iOS 7 and yes there are people do not like it. And yes people should read the description before install it. People think the fault is the customer should seriously think for a moment.

If I buy a PC or Mac, I have the freedom on choice my OS... I can install Windows 7, Windows 8 or early Windows XP. I can install Lion, Mountain Lion p, Linux, Windows on my Mac as well. Why should iDevice be any different? I can change just about everything on my Android devices if I am willing to,

Everybody defending Apple on this matter should agree government strip away your freedom of speech, freedom of choice. Because not allowing customer choice whichever versions of iOS is same as take away of my right of choice

UPDATE 1: I am suggesting that Apple should keep the downgrade window open, BUT I am not suggesting Apple need to support old device.

UPDATE 2: For all your hate, what is harm cost to YOU, if Apple allow downgrade? There are people run into problems with iOS 7 and they want go back. What about these people?

You are everything wrong with society ATM.

No one is entitled to ANYTHING.

OP, you have done nothing but complain about iOS and Apple in every post I see from you.

Why not spare yourself (and us) any more misery, and move along? Please.

Ah! someone else sees the same light I do.

In one of his posts somewhere else, he was claiming that the even the last BB software was better then iOS… why is he even on this forum, if he finds all the other software to be better then iOS… why not choose another platform and move on...

man its like a paint company asking you if you wanted to get your car repainted....for FREE...you say yes. then you say you dont like the colour and you complain that the car company isnt going to do it for you...
freaking ADAPTY

Your previous country of residence has done a good job of brain washing you… I have great many friends in China and have been travelling to china for over 20 years and never have i seen so much censorship on internet (leaving Iran and north korea aside) as I have seen in China. The news my chinese friends see on their internet is vastly censored, to what you see in other parts of the world…

Don't try to pull that one over anyone….

search his for his threads. On 1 thread he talks about going to the nexus and how the iphone is lame for not letting you activate it without a sim since he switched to the nexus and then a few days later he's posting a screenshot from an iPhone LOL.
