Ordered an iPhone 6, 128GB unlocked, on Friday at 4:30am via Apple Store.
Since Saturday: “Preparing for Shipment”. My credit card is not charged yet. Did anyone for some strange reason get a “Shipped” message before the charge was applied to their credit card?

I will give it another 2 days, but if I do not see “Shipped”, I’m going to buy another one on Friday morning, since I have reserved a spot for the same phone. My credit card’s billing cycle is ending around now, and I can without any disturbance return the shipped item once it arrives. Or if the on line order comes before that, I would probably give my reserved spot to somebody in the regular line in front of the store.
One way or another, I should have my iPhone on Friday.

While Im in the store on Friday, I may even change my mind and get 6+ if available and if it does not have "into your face" effect because of the size. But for now, I believe 80% Im going for 6 since it's much more practical without loosing too much of the features on 6+. Battery charger I would carry with me in either case, 6 or 6+. I’m into photography, but will live without IS (if there is a heavy lens it would be more important feature), and rely more on easy to hold, discrete iPhone 6 appearance, creativity, 645 PRO Mk II, Lightroom… Horizontal flip should not be necessary for 6 either.
 
What profile or support are you guys talking about ? Where'd you find that? Mine says deliver by 19/9-23/9. Does that mean I'll get it on the 19?

I placed 2 separate orders 5 min apart. Both for 6+.

The 1st order's serial number just showed up in the profile page.

The 2nd order has yet to show up.
 
Just spoke with Apple phone support regarding the reserved in-store pickup for Canada. Apparently the one confirmation email is all we get, no order or confirmation number.

The CSR suggested I print out the email and bring it with me, but could not confirm if the store would have a list of names.

Kind of odd. Friday morning should be interesting :)
 
One step closer, just received my Invoice. Interestingly, it says it has a ship date of 09/16. I have no shipping confirmation as of yet.

I contacted the store where I reserved, and they basically said the same thing. Bring in the email (or show it on a phone) during the pickup time, and they'll give you your order!

So the last to have reserved could get a phone and not the first to reserve, if the first is too late getting in the line? Really glad I chose not to reserve, now.

My credit card still not charged.

I confirmed with the store that if you are not able to come at the time of your reservation - of course you will not be charged and they may keep the phone aside for you for few hours. Then they will give it away.

So, someone may have my reserved phone if my online order comes on time and I decide not to use reserved pickup option.
 
Got my serial number and no tracking number yet though I can see the phone through UPS: went through mail innovations and put in my postal and it showed something. It's not alot but it is something.

Mail innovations will not show tracking for our phones. Go and put an invalid postal code it will still show that. It's not even the right service, it will be under ups express when we do get tracking.

I'm not really following what the issue may be here? As long as someone who reserved gets their phone, I don't think anyone will be upset. They also (allegedly) restricted the number of reservations per time slot, so if you reserved for 8am-9am (as I did), hopefully it won't be a complete cluster of ducks.

Just in case this is your first order via apple.ca ...

... don't expect to get any tracking information before Thursday (if you expect Friday delivery).

I ordered my iPhone 5 two years ago on the Friday morning on pre-order day (with the same nerve wrecking experience of a wonky Apple Store and finally getting through via the app), got my order confirmation during the day on that Friday and only received the tracking information the Thursday after (ie one day before the schedule delivery).

Back then it was delivered by UPS and the tracking information was not really real-time. However, the delivery to a business address in DT Toronto happened on that Friday (early afternoon, I believe), so I am confident that all will be good this time as well!

For all intents and purposes our phones are shipped out but we do not see the backend work going on with UPS's operation and being moved from China/US to Canada. When we get the tracking number likely tomorrow or Thursday, it would have arrived in Canada ready to be flown out to your door.
 
in store reservation "with contract" or "device only"

So I ordered a 6+ by the reservation system to pickup within a certain time slot on Friday morning.

During the reservation process, my phone/model was not available when I chose "Device Only" but was available when I choose "With Contract."

So I reserved "With Contract" even though I want to purchase the device only (I already have a contract with Fido and don't want to renew it). The reservation didn't ask what carrier you wanted or anything like that, and I know all the phones are in the same pile and unlocked to begin with anyways. Do you think they'll care when I go to buy the phone that I don't want to sign a contract? Or will they turn me away.

It did seem odd that they even ask for that info on the reservation when it shouldn't matter to them.

Never mind me. I was thinking they wouldn't actually put aside enough devices for all the reserved, for some reason. I blame it on a heavy day of programming.
