I'm only 3 months into my contract with Fido, but technically I could renew it if I pay the early cancellation fee to get a new phone at the upgrade price. But with that, I would end up paying almost the same amount as buying the phone outright, and it would be locked. So that sucks. So I'm not too keen on doing that.

I'm guessing it's going to be such a zoo there they aren't going to be too nit picky about this. But who knows. PLUS - it is Rogers/Fido... how many iPhone launches have there been where their computer systems actually worked anyways :)

In Canada, all carriers have to unlock your phone after 90 days into your contract if you request it. Not sure if the price is capped, but it's $50 for rogers I think.

So if you like your phone plan, no point in buying it unlocked.

Also, I know bell will offer to give credit your account the amount of your cancelation fee. So if you don't want to pay the early upgrade fee which is pretty much a cancelation fee, look and see if they have any plans you like.
 
Anyone crazy enough to order from Bell.ca's website?

As far as I can tell everyone is still being told that their order is being processed. I ordered late so I know I most likely will not get my phone on Friday but I'd still like a shipment window. If it's too far out I will take a chance at getting one in store.

Anyone having issues with ordering directly from Bell?

What is hilarious is that they charge your CC right away. Not when it ships.
 
Hey guys, I reserved an iPhone6 for in-store pickup on Friday. I pay it full price and I selected "out of contract" when I reserved it.

I assume it'll be unlocked but a few threads from US users gave me doubts.

Can anyone confirm it'll be unlock ?

All phones sold without contract at the Apple Store in Canada are unlocked.

If it's an outright purchase Apple will charge you and send an invoice. I got my Invoice on Sunday, and charged full price yesterday. If you are going through a carrier with a subsidy, then your carrier will charge you. But I didn't see that option when I was ordering.

If you don't see a charge today call Apple.

Delivery date: Delivers: 19/9-23/9 by Standard Shipping
Charge: Appeared on credit card online statement almost immediately
Support Profile: Shows iPhone 6 with Serial Number

No "invoice" yet. Still says "Preparing for Shipment"

This is what I get when I click on "Print Invoice" - and I've had the same for every other item I've ever ordered from Apple

We create an invoice only after your item leaves our warehouse. Once the item is shipped, you can request an invoice.

What you get under "Show Order Details." is not an invoice.

It will not change to Shipped till it gets to Concord, ON. Likely tomorrow. Been through this nerve-wracking experience with my iPad Air
 
P.S. In the pandemonium of Pre-Order night, I mistakenly reserved a 128GB Space Grey iPhone 6+ at one of my local Montreal Apple Stores, instead of a White/Silver version of the same... Damn. Do you think I'll have to wait in the walk-in line?

You know the form that says "THIS IS YOUR INVOICE" it shows charges, and all the rest of Apple's legal jargon, return policy etc?

That's what I got. What are you talking about?

He's talking about print invoice under order status checker.

I think he got the invoice emailed, on the side note now there's a iphone 6 picture under my support profile next to the serial number. :D

All I got was a confirmation email when I placed a preorder, after that no email, even after they put a hold on funds for the total amount of the iphone. Guessing tomorrow we will find out.

You will probably get it when they actually take your money:)

Out of the million plus shipments I hope that some trickle through tomorrow, and I'm one of those recipients! :D:D. Do I seem desperate? :)
