How you like Wind? I'm in Calgary and they have it setup here but I go to Kelowna a bit and they don't have their own towers there... Love their prices but do you find it gets costly when your on the away?

Hi Rideherhard, I do get one or two missed call alerts in a week which is mostly due to the poor network but for the price I am willing to accept it. As for Calgary, I would not recommend it to you unless you give it a shot for a month/week just to test the network - I am gonna be a lil pessimistic!

Otherwise, 3G is fantastic, I watched the whole iPhone6 & Apple Watch keynote Live Stream smoothly (during work* ;)) - Voice quality is fine as well. You can tether your unlimited 3G to your laptop which is awesome. Let us know if you get a chance to try it out in Calgary.

I'm so confused with this new 2-year pricing structure. Not only are the Big 3 charging substantially more, they are offering considerably less. I just don't understand how this is permitted/legal. I understand they need to recoup the cost of the subsidy over a shorter period of time (hence the increase in rate plans), but what allows them to lower the services offered (i.e., data)? I mean, the typical rate plan a few years ago included 5GB or so of data, whereas these news rate plans start at $20-30 more and only have 500MB of data. How on earth is this not gouging?

After crunching the numbers, it just doesn't make sense to upgrade through Telus. Compared to their promotional $70 plan, I would get the following if I purchase the phone outright and continue with my existing plan:
- Over $200 in savings (-10% from base contract with my own device)
- No yearly contract/monthly billing
- Additional 4.5GB of data (!!!)
- Free local calling for 10 numbers

How does this make any sense? Someone please explain this to me before my head explodes.

Basically, the carriers lost a year's worth of profit with the CRTC regulations and all decided to hike their prices in response. That's it. No other explanation needed.

What about Mobilicity? They may be gone soon, but they're offering unlimited talk, text and date for $29, which includes Canada/US long distance and ½ hour of roaming. If, like me, you rarely leave downtown Toronto, it seems worth trying.

Right now I'm on a plan with Koodo, since I have an early iPhone 5.

And if all hell breaks loose and Mobilicity goes bye-bye you can switch to WIND.

Just letting people know Rogers won't start taking pre orders till 5am ET... Hopefully Apple.ca opens up earlier then that..

Exactly - as I was saying to a friend who doesn't want to risk moving away from the big three, once you're off contract, what's your risk - the price of a month's service?

Yep, Going to set an alarm at 2:55, what are the expectations for the pre order? This is my first one no idea how its going to work. Hell this is my first purchase from the apple store tbh.

I know for a fact though I know my UPS depot manager well so once it reaches my depot ill go pick it up.

I'm excited.

Just wondering - when I ordered an HDMI cable through Apple a few months ago it came through UPS, can I expect the same for my iPhone? I don't like Fedex as much.

expect a few freezes, don't panic. If you order between 3:01-4am you will probably get it by 19th

I'm so excited! What models will you be getting (Color, Storage Capacity, and size 4.7/5.5)? I'm getting 64GB Space Grey.

Hate how Apple does pre-orders at night on a work night, but it is obviously to keep traffic on the site down and pre-orders are going to sell out no matter what.

Oh well, we'll give it a shot and hope for the best...

They always set pre orders/launches/orders on a friday.

Canadian Dollar?

True, but it's still a corporation that answers to it's owner aka stock holders who want to see higher profits

Even after conversion from the US full price of 649, it is 716, and they added a extra on top just for us Canadians.
