Yes, we're getting to the point that the phones are almost universal now. (not sure if the carriers in China have finally transitioned to LTE yet, but when they do and when Sprint/Verizon shut down their CDMA networks, then we may actually get down to models that are sold in every country)Will apple iphone x works with a carrier outside canada?
What's the previous history of shipment bumps specifically for Canadians? We are seeing people in the US already getting bumped up for the X but not in Canada. I am curious what it's been like in previous years. Do Canadians tend to have to wait longer for their shipment bumps?
Will it work with a Sri lankan sim card?Yes, we're getting to the point that the phones are almost universal now. That's fine. I am just curious if there is the possibility of hearing anything this week. When I ordered my 7plus it was 2-3 weeks shipping but on release day my phone shipped I got it the Wednesday after release so there is a possibility we will get it faster but definitely not release day
After getting the Nov. 21-28 window with a xx:06 purchase I went to both Best Buys in my city Friday morning and put down preorder deposits hoping I’ll have better luck there. I’m first in line at the one store and 5th or 6th in line at the other. Still keeping the Apple order in for now, just in case. Best Buy did comment to me about possibly not being allowed to sell the phones outright, so I’m hoping it doesn’t become an issue on Friday. I don’t mind buying through Rogers if I have to - but at full price so I don’t have to change my plan - since all iPhones are unlocked through Best Buy now anyway. I also hope that Best Buy isn’t charging more than Apple in Canada like they are in the US... They don’t seem to have the full retail price posted anywhere that I can see.For those of you got the phone in a few weeks, Anyone gonna Line up on launch day hoping for a walk in purchase?
Your sim card has to be a nano sim card. I have no idea which carrier you're talking about and what frequencies they use. If you take a look at the tech spec's page for the iPhone X under Cellular and Wireless, you can see what frequencies are supported by the two models of iPhoneX: https://www.apple.com/ca/iphone-x/specs/Will it work with a Sri lankan sim card?
What would that matter? It really depends on what service each, individual carrier is willing to pay for. Overnight is more expensive than two-day for example.anyone know if carriers ship out on launch day or ahead of time to arrive on Nov 3rd?
Wow....you just asked the same question. Tell you what. Why don't you call them and ask them? Will iphone x work with Sri lankan carrier?

I think the CRTC put something place about all phones having to be unlocked in the near future. Regardless of the reason Best Buy confirmed to me that all iPhones they sell are unlocked. I believe they still facilitate the sale through a carrier. I don’t think they can sell the phones without activation.Best Buy sells unlocked iPhones?
December 1st. All phones sold thereafter are unlocked and all phones sold SIM locked previously must be unlocked for free by the carriers.Best Buy sells unlocked iPhones?
I can see this happening. I will be glued to my order page all day Friday. If by Friday night I've seen no update, I will refuse to check anything until I get my shipping update email directly from Apple. At some point I have to let this go lol. When I ordered my 7plus it was 2-3 weeks shipping but on release day my phone shipped I got it the Wednesday after release so there is a possibility we will get it faster but definitely not release day

Edit: Ok, get yourself a reservation at BestBuy and try. My guess, they'll let you activate the phone. Which carrier is Public Mobile actually reselling? So there is no way to go into a Best Buy and grab an unlocked phone for my Public Mobile plan then. Oh well.

Just put the deliveries app on your phone and plug your iPhone X order in....you'll get notifications when your status changes.I can see this happening. The Best Buy employee I spoke to said there may be something like this in place too. I sure hope that’s not the case! It would suck to be that close to having an X on launch after the disappointment of the Apple preorder, only to have to say I don’t want it because there’s no way in hell I’ll change my plan.I went in to BestBuy at lunch (Square one in Mississauga) and mentioned that I pre-ordered online.
I asked if I could sign a contract with Rogers (my current carrier) but pay for the entire device because I do not want a tab. The sales person kept saying that I had to pay the $799 on a premium plus plan in order to get it...
Can you link that thread if you don't mind? For fun I have been reading last years's iPhone 7/7+ preorder thread. The bump in shipping times for the rarest model (Jet Black 128gb Plus) was great. People who had a delivering time between Sept 27th and Oct 5th received it on the 20th. Release date was Sept 16th. I think our first post release date shipment is a bit further out than it was last year though by a good full week.
Which carrier did you order under? You could find out what their cancellation / buyout charges would be, then decide if that's worth it to get the phone early. The Best Buy employee I spoke to said there may be something like this in place too.
