Nope, the Americans waiting to ship haven't yet either. All of you 11/3 folks (thus far) are on the same plane. Even the UK folks.
You can tell because normally everyones cards are charged just before they're shipped - and there's been a lot of that, starting this morning.

Honestly, I'm surprised the plane hasn't left yet....typically, it doesn't take them the better part of a day to fill a plane.

Anywho....just like getting your car washed usually makes it rain, I gotta run out, so I'm guessing the tracking updates will happen the second I leave. :)
There's probably extra security measures considering the value of the cargo.

I am from Vancouver BC
Lots of rich people here who have huge purchasing power
What about Toronto?

When @shahbaz47 gets bumped up, we'll all be sitting on our seats to see if we'll get lucky....but until he gets moved ahead, we're all pretty much playing the waiting game. Could be next week for those of us around the 20th before we see any movement.. :)

I'll give you guys a heads up as soon as I get any update

So... y’all who ordered a case and it’s currently either PFS or Shipped, do you have tracking info yet?

Are the cases coming locally? Or are they making the flight across the Pacific too?

Got a tracking number but no info yet (tomorrow) since the case will show up the 1st (in Laval, Qc)

Which carrier did you order under? You could find out what their cancellation / buyout charges would be, then decide if that's worth it to get the phone early.
I ordered unlocked from Apple but decided to try my luck at Best Buy. They didn’t ask what carrier I was with for the preorder. I’m with Rogers and I have such a good plan that I’ve bought unlocked since the 6s came out. Got sick of them asking me to go on a more expensive plan every time I wanted to upgrade! Anyway, my understanding is that Best Buy sells unlocked but needs to activate through a carrier, so my plan is to order it through Rogers, but at full price so I don’t have to change my plan. Sounds like that may not be an option though. Not sure why, an activation should be an activation, and shouldn’t it be even better if I pay more? Or maybe they get a better kick back when they put someone on a new plan...

my status page still says preparing to ship
im going to guess they just arent updating the status....given that its supposed to arrive this friday...

My Rogers pre order reservation number in queue for the Silver 256gb is #355.

It’s my understanding that the queue number is on a per model basis (IE different queues for each of the four models 64gb SG, 256gb SG, 64gb Silver, 256gb Silver) but it’s Canada wide.

So I’ll be the 355th person for the 256gb Silver.

Does anyone with past experience know if that’ll end up as a day 1 delivery, or 1 week? Or 2 week?

Or is it unreasonable to think Rogers would have like 300-500 units per model Canada wide for launch?

thinking about this. it's kind of bizarre and sad how much i've given to apple....that i spent $1,500 on a phone by using Apple pay on a phone that i paid $1,200 on just a few years back.

insane how time flies and how much money im throwing away at technology nowadays.

im going to keep this phone for 3 years. see if i can manage.

U can resell your current phone to recover some of the cost

I know that feeling. But on the flip side: as long as you can actually afford, it shouldn’t matter what you spend it on. Do you consider tech as something you love? Then indulge from time to time.

People blow hundreds if not thousands a year on alcohol, cigarettes and gambling. All of which are arguably worse for you.

Reality checks are useful now and then... but don’t let it completely ruin your fun. :)

So what's the best option I can choose if I don't want to miss my delivery this friday. Knowing I wont be home before 3pm and my past 4 deliveries with UPS/Apple were after 3h40pm...

I do have UPS MyChoice... never explored the options on it... I was told the moment it shows up on my tracking I need to change it so it delivers to an UPS store for pickup? Would this affect delivery date?

Where do guys think is the best place to sell my old phone? I prefer to use one of the resale sites rather than eBay or private sale. Just for the convenience.

true.
i've always been a frugal person. i can easily afford it but the thought of spending $thousands/laptop amount of money on a phone is sort of sickening nowadays. not so much during peak iphone hype days (ala iphone 4s). but you're right. i do love technology, and i shouldnt let money ruin all the fun.

I honestly feel like we’re all due for a massive bump up. Apple’s shipping estimate is essentially the same now, as it was at 7:00 am on October 27 (4 hours after orders started).

Therefore 1 of 2 things is true: Almost no one has placed an order since then. Or shipping estimates were wildly inflated to create hype (and breathing room).

Thoughts?

I usually use Kijiji there is no shipping nonsense, just straight meet up and do your business
Kijiji is pretty good. I've had good experiences once I figured out how to avoid scams and shady people.

In the last month, I've bought 2 iphone X's, a 2017 15" MacBook Pro fully maxed w/Apple Care, airpods, apple watch, not to mention other accessories like an external hard drive and Twelve South stand etc. Upgrade time is always fun, except it all came at once haha.

I find this pretty interesting to, it capped at 5-6 weeks and hasn't budged. That could possibly be due to production issues being fixed and they can get to much higher numbers in the next 6 weeks+ than originally expected. I think the flop that was the iphone 8 in conjunction with the production issues of the X, it was a smart business decision to switch production from the 8 over to the X.

The analyst who reports on these thugs said Apple has figured out most of its delay constraints, remember our shipping times are estimated, every Iphone I ordered since the 5 has come earlier than the advertised date for me personally so I have hope and agree with what you’re getting at we will be bumped up but not significantly

It doesn’t seem like any of the PFS/Shipped crowd have left Zhengzhou. Wanna bet they’re waiting for ours to get on the plane too? ;)

I agree. I think Apple has a big stockpile of X’s as the bottlenecks have cleared and it’s just a matter of allocating inventory to orders.

I’m hoping we get our next week or early the week after.

Seems a lot are having buyers remorse and canceling their order. Or finding another avenue to buying it and cancelling their order. Because my Rogers reservation queue over the last 30 mins I got bumped up 120 spots. Putting me even closer to getting one day 1 or at most 1 week out.

Don’t worry. I said the same exact thing. To myself when I saw I moved up 120 spots.
