Good morning peeps
Something is happening.
I order the X and then went back and ordered a case. Both showed up on my CC as pending transactions. The case is in UPS and showed up as departing Concord last night for delivery today. This morning the case has moved out of pending on my CC and is Posted. The phone is still "Preparing for Shipping" but the entry for the phone is no longer Pending on my CC. It is gone.
Being an optimist it leads me to believe that it is on the verge of shipping.

Good to see that some with later dates are being bumped up.

Keep the faith.
I did same thing ordering case after. My case shipped two days ago with delivery today according to ups tracking, and I just checked that it is still pending in my credit card along with the iPhone X. I think it’s just Visa not moving the transactions fully to statement.

I called Apple yesterday and the guy told me our phones will NOT come from china. They are already here and have been for some time. That’s why we are not seeing any tracking updates. Most likely tomorrow.

It still kills me.

Can someone explain to me how this reservation system works? There's no way i can line up for the phone (work), this would be my only shot at getting one on launch day it seems as the Nov 21-28 folk are seeing no change. It's such a large number of people within that date range that i doubt Apple will move people up unless its a significant shift, which likely won't happen till next week at the earliest (if at all). It's pretty ridiculous but I'm starting to get really impatient lol.

I really don't get the people calling UPS and Apple. Honestly, what do you expect them to tell you? Apple says you're getting your phone on the 3rd, you're getting it on the 3rd. I get people enjoy tracking them, but there's absolutely no point in calling them.

Ok, you won't be able to do any reservations of iPhone X's in store until at least November 4th.
How it works is that there's going to be trickles of stock to the stores all of the time. They want to occasionally have stock for walk-ins, so they keep the buzz going about how hard they are to get (but still have people showing them off out in the wild).
You want to check your local Apple store every morning at 8am to see if you can reserve in store.

I called them because it’s the first time I’m ordering a phone on launch day and I wasnt sure if my credit card was charged or not. Also, not seeing shipping updates for a week had me worried. That’s why. And he gladly answered my questions.

The authorization charge on my credit card is now released and there is no $1,700 charge any more. Hope the get shipped out today but will see when there is another authorization on my card.

Does anyone have experience with asking the shipment to be held at the depot for pickup?

Specifically for Toronto. Where is the depot located?

Worried if I change to this option it will be delayed

I just used the UPS app to have my iPhone X case held at the local UPS Store. That's your best bet. I think you just have to sign up for their free service.

And were you able to pick it up on the delivery day? Did you choose which store you wanted? And finally what was the earliest you could pick it up... sorry for all the questions haha!

Careful guys. Stores usually only get delivery at end of day (just before the trucks go back to the yard). Store pickup usually causes a day delay.

You want to hold it at the hub (Customer Centre). To find your local customer centre use the tools on the UPS site to do a search.

You want to expand location type and only select customer centre.

There's two customer centres for Toronto - the one in Mississauga and the main distribution centre in Concorde.
I'd do the hold over the phone so you know it doesn't cause a delay.

Kind of what MacRumors was explaining but it's nice to have confirmation from an Apple rep.
It's still stressful to be seeing PFS 2 days ahead of delivery... The wait is killing me!!! Hopefully we'll all get it on Friday as scheduled.

You are right. In Ottawa right now the both customer centres are "temporary not available" to hold the order according to the My Choice page on UPS. My local store only receives the shipments at the end of the drivers run which is sometimes close to the stores closing time. I have had 1 day delays because of this in the past.

Yep, you should call them if you want to pick up there rather than delivering at home. Hopefully they'll have it available when they open at 8am.

Darn I will miss the detailed tracking and finding the flights from China. That was always part of the fun in the past. Getting it directly from Concord is boring.

Eeeek... I think I'll just leave it to be delivered.

Do UPS give 1 hour timeslots for delivery?

I've never heard of that....and I'm guessing they're going to be so crazy busy on the 3rd the answer's likely no. Usually you wait all day and they show up when you've grown impatient and run out for a quick errand that just has to be done that day. :)

Sticky notice on the door. Cue screaming at the heavens. :)

I don't know yet if I will be able to pick it up today. It will most likely be available tomorrow. I am able to specify the UPS Store I want and picked the one that is a couple of minutes away from my apartment. Convenient. I don't mind waiting the extra day for the case. I might be ok with waiting one more day for the phone as well.

The wait is even more painful when we are not sure when the driver arrives on launch date and you dont wanna leave home in case you missed him. I remember last year the 7 Plus didn’t get deliver until 7:30pm. The ups driver said almost everyone have to work overtime to get these phones delivered.

Hi so i did this last year for my 7plus the earlier you do it the more adjustable it can be, depending on the ups guy if he gets it to the store in sufficient time then you can pick up at the store close to you or any location you’d like, but if he passses the cut of time then you have to wait the next business day

That is not true at all. Most of my items delivered to UPS Stores are available before 2pm
