Damnit man. Some of the guys up front were buying 2, and then walking down the line selling the reservation for $100.

I’m a girl btw haha.

I know I’m pretty bummed out that people purchased two phones, probably to sell at profit, but nothing I can do about that. I’ll just have to wait for my order online to get here. I can’t believe Masonville got so little stock!

Well, that was a friggin disaster. Pretty sure the extra security tipped off their friends as to when they were opening the doors.

When I got there at about 12:30am, there were only 25 people in front of me.
About 20 minutes before they opened the door, the numbers of the two groups in front of us doubled. We all started yelling at them, but they just smiled and shrugged at us (*******s!!!)

Store only had 40-50 of the 64GB space grey. Everyone that they served took at least two (pretty sure most of them are reselling them....I saw one guy coaching 3 girls what they should be asking for).

Oh...and why I think it was the security guards? Because they were originally standing in line with the guys in front of us....then fell out when the manager of the store showed up (in a suit with some paperwork). They followed him into the mall through another door.

Had to be over 200 people in line (most of which came after 4am).

Just pissed!!! :(

And that was the phone I wanted!!! If they wouldn't have cut, I might have gotten mine!!!

Conestoga Mall - Waterloo.

GRRR!!!

I'm really glad i decided not to wait in line. The only way i would've even considered it is if i was guaranteed a phone. After the pre-order bullchit i did not trust apple to have enough store stock, and i knew insiders and scalpers would get whatever was there anyways. I'm going to try to reserve, otherwise im waiting until Nov 21-28 thats it.

Out for delivery since 6am for me (Toronto)

It's gonna be a long day...
That is what I would have felt as the UPS truck typically drops by after 6:00pm.
This time I called in yesterday and was lucky enough to have them hold for pickup at the Customer Centre.
I could not do that from the web site as using the UPS My Choice service showed that location as temporary unavailable. The service agent didn't want to do it as the package wasn't shipped yet, but I insisted that I didn't want it on the truck this morning. He relented.
This morning my status is "The delivery change was completed. / The receiver arranged to pick up the package at a UPS facility. Pickup must be made within 5 business days."

On my way to the CC as soon as it opens.

I am stoked.

Winnipeg update, polo park mall just opened doors and we were let inside to wait.

Just curious Viper as I always wondered this about the PP Apple location. Do they open the doors (by the Tims/Sears) and everyone makes a mad dash for the Apple store? Or do they give numbers? Do people enter in an orderly fashion? How well do they keep things controlled?

Glad to hear they have lots of stock... happy for you and Winnipeggers who want one.

All of this just boggles my mind. Is 2-3 weeks wait really too long? Does the launch day all night line-up and getting a 64gb phone makes people immortal or happy for the rest of their lives... I am sure most people have a working phone that can last another 2-3 weeks or you might even get lucky with online reservations...

And NO.. it's not fun to line up outside in this weather... May be for Aussies with their warm climate but not here. So I don't buy that logic..

Anyways... Goodluck.

Anyone have any idea if Best Buy is letting people buy without a contract? (every indication on the web site was that you had to sign a new deal).

Heh. I really don't like waiting. :) If I can get it before the 20th, I certainly will!!! :)

My 6+ is toast, i really need a new phone. To be honest in any normal situation, i couldn't care less about the wait. However, here we (Nov 21-28 ppl) were identifiably screwed with.

I didn't put it together until I saw the security guards lounging on some couches on the way out. They had been out of site when mall security escorted us in. Think it's pretty much a given that they all orchestrated that.
Not sure what I would've done in that situation, but definitely not cool.

Maybe try reservation tomorrow morning? You can pickup same day, hopefully they have the silver model . . .

I failed pre-order, failed the launch day, will I fail again lmao

We were escorted inside through the doors by the sears (entrance 2) in order by two apple employees in the blue jerseys. Inside we were put in corralled lines and after 7:00 they went down the lines and took our orders and gave us reservations via text.
It was very organized and there was no cutting or any line swelling in the entire time I was waiting since 2:30 am.
They also brought a cart with coffee water and muffins!
