This time I called in yesterday and was lucky enough to have them hold for pickup at the Customer Centre.
I could not do that from the web site as using the UPS My Choice service showed that location as temporary unavailable. The service agent didn't want to do it as the package wasn't shipped yet, but I insisted that I didn't want it on the truck this morning. He relented.
This morning my status is "The delivery change was completed. / The receiver arranged to pick up the package at a UPS facility. Pickup must be made within 5 business days."

On my way to the CC as soon as it opens.

Update:
Walked into UPS Customer Centre 20 minutes ago showed my ID and signed for the SG 256GB. No line up. Ha. Still appreciate those brave souls in line that worked hard for their X.

An of now restoring the X from my 7+. I am impressed as the first part of the setup uses the old phone in proximately to the new one too get all of the settings. Once that was done it automatically updated to IOS 11.1. Now it is restoring from my iCloud backup.

Took my first call and realized that it will take practice to learn the new muscle memory for the new gestures. Alright on to new and better things.

i had a pick up window for 8am and went there at 7:30. i was the first one to get the phone and it was funny seeing their faces when they saw an ex employee getting the first phone
my dad was gonna do walk in but only a handful of people got walk ins
 
Well I finally got my tracking number from Telus this morning! It did ship yesterday (as scheduled), left Calgary last night and is apparently in my city right now...showed as "Item Processed" as of 7:15 am. Unfortunately it is showing expected delivery of 11/06 so I will have to wait over the weekend - so close yet so far :(. Oh well, with all this snow we are getting here right now (already 15 cm, another 10 cm expected today) I am not confident that it would have been delivered today anyway even if was out for delivery!

Same here!

Now I'm unpairing my watch, backing up the old iPhone.. and I imagine I'm going to have to update the X to 11.1 for it to be able to restore from backup.

Ya that could be true. Another family member just got an 8 so I’ll have to check hers and my X if I can grab a sim from someone else.

Mine also says item processed in my city but doesn’t say out for delivery yet! Still says it’s schedule for today though. Fingers crossed!

Oh, I hope you do get yours! I won't be mad ;) If it says scheduled for today, that is positive.

I do find it a bit silly mine might not go out today when it is here (usually when things get here they always go out same day, be it Canada Post, UPS, DHL, etc..it is not like we are that big of a centre). However, I am looking at the positive, because as of an hour ago I did not even have a tracking number and was thinking it had not even shipped yet. It was nice to track it and see that tracking history!

Ugh, thanks for reminding me what a long day it's gonna be. I forgot about having to repair my watch on top of updating my 7 plus so I can update the X and restore from backup.

Eek! Good thing I took the day off! :D

Delayed to Prince George due to adverse weather. Last scan was arrival in Richmond. Apparently they had snow down there. Wondering how this affects deliveries in Vancouver area.

Expect mine after 2:30 so coming on later flight.
 
Mine's been out for delivery since 4AM, lol. I think that's just the time it got loaded on the truck. Not sure when it'll get delivered, UPS is usually pretty random in Winnipeg. Got my Samsung ready with Move to iOS, will be interesting to see how it all works. Bummer for people who waited overnight and got shafted, really sucks!
 
anyone get their delivery yet? mine said it was out for delivery at 4 am but i doubt they actually deliver at that time. when do they actually start delivering? i live in mississauga

Mine was out for delivery at 6am, I’m in Richmond Hill. The UPS guy usually comes between 9:30 to 10:30.... way past that now.

Might be an all day waiting thing. :(

Generally UPS delivers from 9am-7pm.

My driver is all over the place lately, he used to always come around 2pm. Lately it's been 10:30am, 2:30pm, 4:00pm.....
 
Still waiting for it to restore from backup, but my god is this thing incredible in the hand. The steel + glass feels amazing. And the screen is insane. It almost has a colour e-ink look to it. Maybe it's an OLED thing, but text looks like it's at the surface of the glass, suddenly the 6s I have next to it has such a dated looking display.

I'm sooo excited to discover OLED on iPhone!!! How's the notch? Most reviewers say it's not an issue at all, it even makes everything look great!
 
i forgot the notch even existed. The reviewers are completely right! u rarely look up at the status bar anyways but i hate the fact that i can’t quickly glance at my battery percentage anymore. now u have to open control center to see the percentage

Anyone at Eaton Centre have an idea of stock levels? Have a delivery for 21-28th, but wondering if there's any chance it's worth stopping by the mall after 4PM for a 64GB Black.
 
My iPhone X is coming on the 21st-28th, but I'd like to get one for my fiance. I wonder if I should just order it from the site and wait until the 6th-13th of December, or consider trying every day via the app until I get one.

I'd go ahead and just order it now and then try every day, but the problem with that is I'd already have 2 online orders going, and won't be able to reserve and pick up - just walk-in.
 
That's great news! How about thickness and weight?
I remember 6/6+ were thinnest ever and then they got thicker every year since.
I find my 7 Plus to be quite heavy and thick.
... I can see how the % thing is annoying given that we need to look at it quite often! I'm sure there will be a lot of UI updates in the future to adapt to the new screen, round edges, etc... I feel like a lot of native apps could take better advantage of the screen estate.
