Ordered my BTO early morning on Oct 21st and it's still on Processing Items. It also still says delivers: 30 Oct - 3 Nov (to Montreal). I'm sure I'll get that email tomorrow morning saying it'll be late.
Ordered Oct 27 i7 4.0 512ssd - to Richmond B.C.
I called into Apple this morning. She also said it was coming from "overseas" but hopefully it really comes from Cali. You did better than me with the 100 discount, I at least got free upgrade to expedited shipping but I really didn't push it much as I had to go to work. Maybe a call back to get more discount....LOL
Anyways, mine has changed finally to prepared for shipment so hopefully by tomorrow I will have some idea of who is shipping it and when I will actually receive it. I just need it to arrive by the end of next week as after that I'm out of the country for 3 weeks and I want it to be safe at home before I leave....
After I read your post I decided to check mine, fully expecting that it was still going to be in processing, but nope, it's Preparing for Shipment - FINALLY! I can't help but wonder if both of our iMacs are coming from the same plant?
In any case, I'm very relieved. I didn't really push for anything when I phoned, I just politely explained that others were getting their orders shipped even after having ordered a week and later than me, for the same system, and I wanted to know if she could check and see if my order had gotten glitched or messed up or something. After I explained it all she offered me the discount for my inconvenience which I really do appreciate.
That said, do they ship on the weekend? It might be Monday before we get the "Your order has shipped" email.
Now I have just one last thing to be paranoid about. I've read from a few people that their displays have had lot's of dead pixels, or that it's been dead out of the box. Let's hope that after such a long wait, we are at least lucky enough to get flawless systems.

I guess it depends on how fast expedited shipping is and what the routes are. Truthfully though, unless its by air (which it isnt), its most likely going to be a week to 10 days starting when it ships, which should be (better be!) Monday.Still stuck on Preparing......no way this will meet the delivery estimate of 4-5.......
Changed overnight to "Preparing For Shipment". Now says Delivers: Nov 5 - 6.
Just got the Shipped notification (via FedEx) but too early to see any other info so I'm not sure where it's coming from.
I got my shipment notification 2 hours ago as well. I didn't think they could ship it until Monday, but I'm not complaining. Now I just hope it gets here for the weekend, and hopefully with no issues.
I think your right. Hope they make their journey quickly; I'm pumped!Nice!
I think what's happening is they are slapping all the shipping labels onto the boxes and they will be picked up in the morning...
Mine is coming via Fedex but it doesn't show any tracking information yet; probably will be picked up in the morning. It's supposed to be coming from California though. Hope yours ships soon too; it very likely could ship tomorrow since it was in preparing to ship since last Friday. I would be surprised if it didn't. Good luck!Still waiting on my shipping notice....heres hoping they get to it soon. They've been "preparing" it for a long time now.....
What shipping company and from what location are your iMac's shipping from??

Mine is "shipped" but so far the only tracking detail is "a shipping label has been created", which I got yesterday. It's almost 2 pm where i live; hope it gets moving soon!
Mine is picked up in Ontario interestingly enough. Not sure when it moved from California to Ontario, but thats great news. Ontario is only 4 hours away by air, so i just might get it on the 5th as estimated.
That's Ontario, California. Apple has a logistics center there - it's where the labels get created.
