I know this doesn't have anything to do with preorders, but anyone here hoping for Apple pay to be announced Wednesday? It's the one feature that I am looking forward to.

Not going to happen as Apple has competition in every level - SureTap from carriers, banks have their own mobile payment for each bank, Android Pay, etc.

Yeah but I don't think any of those work with iPhones. You need to have an android. With roughly 40% of Canadians using iOS it's a large number of mobile customers with no access to mobile payments,

You are correct. It may happen as TD Bank has said since they announced Apple Pay in the states that they are eager to support Apple Pay when it comes to Canada. Not surprising considering TD Bank US has it already.

I wouldn't be surprised that if it is announced it'll work with TD and RBC. They both support it in the States. It's one feature that I feel like I'm missing out on. Not that it is Apple's fault, they have to bring our banks on board.

With the current state of our banks? not counting on it. Those greedy morons are hoping that we will jump on their platforms instead of Apple because they'd rather not give a penny to apple.

That sums it up pretty nicely. I'd love to see it, but won't hold my breath. They have the monopoly and can do whatever they want.

Looks like pre-ordering is going to be cheaper.

COST FROM CARRIER:

$65 * 24 months = $1560

$1560 + $500 subsidy = $2060

Total cost over two years = $2,060

COST FROM APPLE UNLOCKED

$60 * 24 months = $1440

$1440 + $900 = 2340

So around $300 savings buying from my carrier.
That depends on the situation. When buying from carrier, you are required to sign up for the new "premium" plans, which are way more expensive than the grandfathered ones.
Whereas using an unlocked device will allow you to receive BYOD discounts and the freedom to pick whichever plan you want.

This isn't a grandfathered plan, I'm on a current plan.

I'm going to be getting the iPhone 6s+ in Silver 64GB probably from Rogers reservations. For those who pre-ordered a 6 Plus last year from Rogers or did a reservation for in-store pickup as website does no carrier orders from Apple at 3:01EDT, did you get your phone at launch day?

Also I'm the level one so will I be able to pick up the phone in the store? Or the account holder?

Canadian prices are up on the Apple Store and here they are:

iPhone 6S
16GB: $899
64GB: $1029
128GB: $1159

iPhone 6S Plus
16GB: $1029
64GB: $1159
128GB: $1289

OP was pretty damn close on the off contract prices which is not good for consumers at all.

I didn't even realize the iPhone 6 64GB had increased from $859 from launch to $969 in March... now $1029 for the 6s. Ridiculous pricing tbh when you add tax its around $1160...

Anyway, what time do preorders start EST?

Yikes, was thinking of switching from my Blackberry Z10 to an IPhone 6S or 6S Plus. But when I factor in 15% tax in addition to the base price I don't know anymore.

Out of my price range, unfortunately.

Perhaps I'll get it on contract provided there are deals

Or, maybe it doesn't sell as well and there are carrier deals as we saw with the Galaxy S6

So my iPhone 5 and its 3 year plan are up this November. This is paid for by my father and with the 6S I plan to get my whole cellphone situation under my control, meaning I'm paying for everything. Growing up has its ups and downs.

Anyway, I'm pretty much abandoning my current plan because it's a corporate plan with undesirable terms. I'm most likely going to go with Bell or Rogers and whatever premium plan they offer. What I want to know is, how does the whole reservation/pre-order system work for someone who doesn't even have an account with either carrier? Am also curious what the on-contract prices will look like. Those unlocked prices just seem far too expensive.

rediculous price, I'm guessing the base contract price for the 6 will be $400? never mind, just saw the original post.

I'm looking to renew 2 lines with 6s+ 128gb... Anxiously waiting for 2 year contract pricing... I suspect prices will be higher than listed by op... Here's hoping he's right... Man I miss the days of cad $ at par... At least I'm saving 10$ a week in gas...

Expect the price to be between $750 and $850 for the 128GB 6S+. Seriously, if our dollar stays at this rate for a few years I won't be buying Apple Products anymore. I can get Android phones for cheaper, I mean the Samsung S6 is only $250 on contract for 32GB. Apple is the only tech company that has really raised prices here when you look at it. For example, PS4 in the US is $399.99 and $449.99 here when it should actually be closer to $529.99 here.
