So he said because your replacement is a refurb, scratches and stuff are normal. No exchange. :(

And this is why I am thankful we can go direct to Apple, well an Apple Store at least. The Rogers folks aren't exactly....customer service oriented let's say.

And they like to blame it on Apple. The whole conversation I had with the Rogers CSR he was telling me how poor helpless Rogers can't do anything. It's "Apple's" policy, warranty. His hands are tied. So i don't know...wondering if i'll ever get an iPhone with a good screen, no cracks, and one that doesn't come pre-scratched. :(

Because, at least for me, when i purchased the iPhone from Rogers, the rep told me I had to go through Rogers for any warranty issues on it.

When I bought my iPhone in St. Albert (Edmonton) I was told the exact opposite, and so was my girlfriend the very next day, by a different CSR. Rogers has nothing to do at all with warranty issues, Apple does handles them exclusively—that's what the two reps at Rogers told us. This is also what I've heard from everyone else I know in town who has bought an iPhone.

Bizarre, because I bought mine at City Centre in Edmonton and he told me to take it to Rogers... but whatever... I'd rather deal with Apple so its all good.

Couples' plan

So yesterday I found a fido rep who said I could get two iPhones on a $35 couples plan without paying the extra $50 on either phone. Went to a different Fido today who said it cannot be done. Went back to yesterday's store which also said it cannot be done. :( But when they rang up the sale both rang up at $299 with no extra $50!

So they extended the $30 for 6Gb plan til the end of September. But I wonder if they'll really kill it as of Oct 1.

Moot point for me, as I won't sign a three year contract for voice. Now if they offered data with pay-as-you-go... ah I dream.

That's fine. I've already had to replace 2 of them (broken ringer switch in both cases) and have had work through Rogers and FedEx up to now. Hopefully I won't have to do it a third time, but it's nice to know I can pop in to the store to get it addressed if I do.

exact same thing happened to my friend,, fido did nothing bout it, apple ordered one for him

I was wondering if people in Canada in general, and Vancouver in particular are having any phone reception problems.

My reception in Vancouver has been pretty good. I typically get 5 bars of 3G service in Vancouver. Went to the Sunshine Coast a few weeks ago and could only get Edge service up there (horribly slow for web browsing). But, phone calls seem to work without a problem.

Also, I have tried to access www.yahoo.jp in various store iPhones and only once not run into "server unavailable" comments. Can anyone with an iPhone in real life check and let me know if they have any problems connecting to that site, and whether there is really full internet access or if various servers are reported to be unavailable, thanks.:)

I had no problem accessing that site.
