Looks like they just decided to ship out another which should arrive in 2 - 3 days..
When i asked what happens if i receive 2 copies.. the rep just said "Congratulations."

Did you phone in for that? What did you say?

If so, I'm going to call and see if I can get a "free" copy
 
Yeah i called in.. asking for a status of my order... and the rep asked if i had received it yet.. i said nope.. Then he said, do you want a refund credit or do you want me to ship a new order?
so i had them ship the new copy..
In my case i believe they originally shipped it via Canada post which has no tracking number.. therefore no way to verify if it had actually been delivered.

Realistically i could have said that i did not receive it even if i had and had them send a refund. but ofcourse i wouldn't do that.. :cool:

Well you are lucky, you called before they set up the new procedure. Now if you call in regards of a UTD order, they transfer you to a special rep, who will tell you that they have to wait until 3 business days after the 'delivers by' date. Which is tomorrow. She told me if you don't get it tomorrow in the mail, we will ship you a new one! Fair enough for me, i can wait another day i guess.

by the time we receive our order, they will probably have the first patch available...
 
I'm tempted to get my money back when the disc arrives.

This whole shipping process has been one big **** up.

If I'm not getting it tomorrow, be sure that I'm calling Apple and I want a new copy ASAP. On another note, how much does it cost to add a tracking number for these kind of shipments? More like 10 cents or more like a dollar?

I'm wondering if it's not just a couple of employees at Purolator who just decided to steal the shipment...

I called just now, and after 20 minutes of the Apple rep consulting her supervisor, they added a retail version of SL to my order.
 
I asked what I should do if the UTD disc ever arrives, and she mentioned something about returning something for a refund (or keeping it)… but I wasn't paying too much attention to that, sorry!

ROFL, we all do that sometimes (asking things and not listening to answers!) :D
 
Just got off the phone. The girl wouldn't send out another copy until after Sept 10th. She was pretty firm on this date too.

Just a heads up for anyone thinking about phoning in :p
 
I just called and it took quite a long time. I had to wait for like 10 minutes while he was searching for something.

But finally he said he'll ship me a replacement (does that mean I will get another upgrade copy or a retail copy), and said they will investigate on this.

He gave me no date, though. I wonder when it'll ship.

EDIT: Same as others... Retail version, ships in 1-2 business days.
 
To all those who got a replacement copy, I'd like to know what was the date of your first shipment.

Was it August 28th or before?

I did the same. Must say my rep did it immediately and without asking me. He was very apologetic about it all.... Still says it delivers by 11-16 September so could still get it next week. At least it has a tracking number now...
 
^ haha seems like I'm the only one with no successes on getting a new copy :rolleyes:

I guess the whole 'no tracking number' thing is going to come back to haunt Apple as they have no proof that the package ever arrived.

Got off the phone bout an hour ago with a lovely young :apple: lady (Sheryl) who told me there was no tracking and would go ahead and ship me out a replacement.

Checked my order and I see this as my new order : "MAC OS X 10.6 SNOW LEOPARD RETAIL-INT" where my previous order was "MAC OS X10.6 SNOWLEOPARD UTD FULLFIL-INT"

So I guess I'm getting the full version as a replacement :)

It was by the 3rd. Now it's by the 11th - 16th. Hopefully Friday but I will have a tracking number. Must say the rep I spoke to was very sympathetic and quite embarrassed by it all.

How come all these people didn't receive it?

Not just in Québec, but everywhere in Canada!

And now, they have to send us retail versions with 3 day shipping... they'll lose money with us...

I haven't had any success with them either. They told me that I really needed to call tomorrow at the end of the afternoon (well, after I receive my mail in fact), and they will see what they can do.

I really can't wait...
 
I am a happy man; I kind pursued the guy to add-in my replacement order and he was a nice guy. He initially told me to wait for another two days but I told him that I already got such a lousy service and few people in same situation already had their replacement orders placed so why not me :p. So he added retail version for me, and I should be getting it by Friday, YAHOO :D
