How can anyone who wears "skinny pants" say the 7+ works? It just doesn't.

Does for me but you're talking about skinny like slim and tapered on the calf/ankle and not super tight jeans (regardless of the style) that makes fat rolls, etc?

Because I wear lululemon and my seven plus fits in just fine, just like the 6s, just leaves an imprint so you can tell the phone is in my pocket but it's not uncomfortable because my a** can squeeze into a 2 (they don't make 0) without sucking anything in & the like.

I'm debating returning my 7+.

I love the battery life, but the size makes it kinda hard to live with. Add to it the fact that I'm starting a new job that will involve a lot of running around all day and rarely being in an office, and I'm just not sure this is the device for me.
I went from a 6+ to a 7 and I don't regret it. I have the same limitations as you. I need to kneel or squat often. Even sitting was a compromise.

The plus IMHO when I see it in the field looks a tad awkward almost like its cumbersome.
I have held one and nearly got one 2 years ago, glad I didn't ... but I've a sight test next week so I'll keep you updated. (certain iPhones have effected my sight).

I had the 6+ and then went to a Samsung S7 Edge, and now back to a 7. The 6+ was just too big. If the 7+ was the same size as the S7 Edge, I would have bought it. However, the extra bezel on the 7 Plus is too much. Perhaps next year when the 8+ comes out the bezel will be gone with the home button part of the screen. If it does, it will actually be smaller than the Edge and I will switch back to the Plus. The day of big bezels on the iPhone may finally be coming to an end.

Bezel is approx 40% of screen real estate and serves zero purpose - assuming edge touch is disabled to avoid touch errors.
Truely cant wait when iPhone is sans bazel.

I'm going from a 6s+ to a 7 after a year. It's irritating to have to carry around such a large phone even if the screen size is great. I'm a small lady so my pocket can't handle this phone and I don't like to always carry a purse. I can one hand the phone but it is heavy.

If they made a 5.2 inch phone I would get that in a heartbeat.

The bezel serves zero purpose? I'm sure you're aware that there are a lot of vital internal components that are housed beneath this bezel space. It's no wonder why the iPhone 7 Plus has better spec components since it has the extra space to house them. I honestly am not really sure how Apple could have remained competitive if they had kept only the smaller 4" iPhones as their flagships devices since they would not have had the space to fit in newer features to compete with other phones within the price range. The larger phones were a necessity.

I love my 7+ when i had for a week but after a while u can really feel the weight and u feel tired of it...
Im happy with ip7 now...

it's almost been a month for me, I love it but then again I've always carried bigger items, e.g. 22" bags, perhaps to compensate for my height (5'4) and size (xxs/xs). People seem to be amused when they see me with my bag...

Just because it fits it doesn't mean it's a good fit lol. I don't wear tight jeans but I still needed to remove the phone out of front or rear pockets before squatting.

Even sitting is not entirely comfortable.

not everyone is the same.

It was easy for me to decide to go for SIM FREE iPhone 7+ MB 128Gb.
First, I'm not a fan of the other Brand.
Second, I'm still using an iPhone 5s gold 32Gb and never had a good reason to get the iPhone 6.
Third, with the constant updates, the memory is working hard to keep up with the apps I'm using (thus slowing down the speed of my phone).
Fourth, I want a change in color. I'm done with 3yrs gold phone.
Fifth, I like my friend's phone size (Note 5) better when it comes to working on my office files, playing games, or watching YouTube videos.
Lastly, and the Best reason, I need some pampering too.

Good on you. I've had them all and while the SE / 5 size was my favorite of all time, I absolutely missed and needed to spoil myself with the Plus size. Will never downsize again. It was nice having the SE while I had it, as it's far better than the regular 6/7 size, but the Plus is a necessity for many of the same reasons you listed. Enjoy it!

Finally made up my mind and pulled the trigger on a JB 7. It's clear to me that the iPhone is meant to be this size and the Plus is an awkward afterthought. The 7 is so slim, light, prefect for one handed use and it is never a nuisance that the Plus was.

I use $30 smartphone as a daily driver. I have the entry-level Mac at under $1000 that is non-Retina but do love its battery life and all the current ports it has before the Mac event. I sometimes enjoy driving sedans but can equally enjoy driving an SUV. I enjoy wearing slippers in the house instead of my steel toe boots. The point isn't about getting the best specs or chasing a status quo, but want makes you feel more comfortable.

At first, I wanted 7. I am so used to the size between 4.7 to 5 since 2013. Then I realized phablets doesn't feel so bad and was rather surprised how quickly I adapted to a Note. The 7 Plus is too tall for a 5.5 though. You really can't go wrong with either choice. The 7 battery life isn't that inferior compared to the Plus. With the 7+, you do get that extra gig of RAM for more software update future proofing and 2X optical zoom. Just pick what makes you comfortable and happy.

For me, it is almost flipping of a coin. I think either one would still be great. The 7 would be where I feel more comfortable to carry around and offers the cheaper price. It also has a less uglier camera hump. While 7+ has 3gb of RAM (first iPhone to have it which means longer future updates), 1080p sharper display, and 2X optical zoom. It really comes down to your personal lifestyle, preference, and your own comfort or a matter of time of getting used to it....

I still have my iPhone 5. I'm keeping this as a souvenir (my very first iPhone). I'm giving my 5s 32G Gold (scratch free with LifeProof Nuud) to my niece.
I know I will miss my 5s too. Small enough to fit my pants pocket.
With the 7+, definitely I have to bring my sling bag always with me.

One thing I find strange is the lack of hype about the extra speakers on the 7+. I've seen many articles and posts about the earpiece speaker, but not much about the added speaker on the bottom. To me this is a huge benefit as I watch a lot of YouTube videos on my phone without headphones.

The iPhone 6 line already had a speaker on the bottom. That has not changed with the 7. The new "speaker grill" on the 7 where the headphone jack used to be is mainly there for aesthetics and also serves as a vent for more accurate readings from the barometric sensor. There is not an additional speaker on the bottom of the 7 compared to the 6.

Sound comes from both speaker grills on the bottom. But I did test in an Apple Store where it was very loud, so I could be wrong.

Edit: ah, I guess I am wrong lol. Well that explains the lack of hype. Too bad, that would've been awesome if it were an additional speaker.

The speaker is only on the right side. The left side is a barometric vent. No speaker.

Videos are watched in landscape so the idea of balanced sound helps it makes sense. Two speakers from the bottom would overpower the top speaker.

I have a plus and wouldn't go back to a non plus. That being said as a phone and for overall comfort and mobility I still prefer the non plus phones.

The battery on the iPhone 7 is impressive and lasts me the whole day easily. That was my only concern between 7+ and 7. Not concerned about the extra camera because I don't take photos often and the extra RAM won't be utilized in real world usage (at least for myself).
