Hi,

I think I remember reading somewhere that now apple lets you use xcode and it's tools for free without having to pay the 99 dollar annual fee and I wanted to try it out. I have xcode downloaded and I was looking into more developer tools to download but I can't seem to be able and verify my apple ID. I have inserted my apple ID under preferences>Accounts in xcode but I keep getting the message

"Please verify the email address associated with your Apple ID. Please visit
https://appleid.apple.com."

I am going to that link and every time I am trying to login (using 2-step verification) it redirects me to the manage page and there is nothing I can do from in there apart from editing my personal details (Account, security, payment options etc)!

I have also tried to click on "Enrol" from developer program but it still tells me to verify my ID and when I add my credentials it still redirects me to the manage page (https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage) where I can't verify anything!

This thing is driving me crazy! Any ideas? How can I resolve this?

PS. I am using MacBook Pro Mid 2012 with latest updates of El Capitan and Xcode.

Just call the developer program hotline, they helped me within 2 minutes. I had the problem (i life in germany) that my city name was once spelled with "ue" and on the other entry with "ü". For the system was it not the same and my enrolment couldn't be verified.

I have contacted apple and they informed me that apple ID accounts that they were created before 2012 and had the extensions of @mac.com @icloud.com and @me.com have problems being verified by xcode. So the solution was to create a new apple ID. I now have access.
