Capsule Rebel from SwitchEasy just announced.

I ordered directly from Switcheasy, is that what you did? Also from what I've read so far, the material is not silicon, some new polymer ADSP (Adaptive Dynamic Soft Polymer). I don't think its the basic silicon that most others use. Main reason I bought it also. I hate the silicon, it stretches in time and discolors quickly.
They ship USPS...

Ordered 2 days ago. Processed it yesterday and then it gave me the location today. Prob won't come in till next friday is my guess cuz i just got the regular $3 shipping...

After emailing them I all of a sudden got a "Your product has been shipped" email.. Makes you go Hmm right?

The product shipped notification is just the INFORMATION that USPS receives. So they can just send the info without the product itself.
My dad has his own company and has a weighing machine that prints out a label you stick on the box. It connects thru the internet and charges the shipping to his card. Well, when USPS receives that tracking number info, that's "SHIPPED" to them. But technically it's not really shipped until he takes it over there or they pick it up. Their system is kinda flawed in that they don't tell you the difference between "info received" and ACTUALLY SHIPPED. It's all just "SHIPPED" to them.
After a lot of searching, I finally found a supplier that will ship them to the UK and are in stock!

Great deal! Shipping is about the same "$3.21" for me. Wished i would have seen this one. It woulda saved me 8 bucks or so. Nice find!
It's something I do before going through any checkout, quick google of "shopname discount codes", usually get at least 10%. Saves a lot of money in the long run and can make the difference from who you buy from
When I get it thru I'll try and get some decent quality snaps up with all the bits, assembling it and angle shots with the case on, coming from the US but first class airmail so it shouldn't take that long.
how does the 'universal dock adaptor' work? which dock would it fit into, would it be a 3rd party dock?
the pictures on their website dont show an Apple 3G dock, or am I wrong?
Presumably, it would be Apple's universal dock. The 3G dock doesn't accept adapters.

Wouldn't this be an adapter for the Apple Universal Dock? Kind of like the universal dock adapters that come with most iPods. You can purchase a set of three for the iPhone 3G from the Apple Store, but that's just for the naked phone. I think theirs works with their case on (no need to remove it to dock).

Ordered this 2 days ago (hate waiting for shipping). Wonder if this case is going to start getting sold @ apple stores b/c it is kind of what everyone is looking for. Good looking, soft to inside, drop proof, and hopefully doesn't stick to pockets like they advertise. Not to mention the added items. Only thing they could have done is somehow left the apple visible. Anyways, great find.

Hey Nick, they sell them in apple resellers here in OZ not sure about apple stores.
They are $39.95 in OZ have not seen to many people with them
Update: Ordered right when these things were announced and never got any kind of confirmation other than a pay pal email reciept. Opened my mailbox today (about 5pm Pacific) and to my surprise there it was!
I'll work on getting some pics posted but here is my initial summary:
I am moving from an Agent 18 eco case (black) which in itself is ok and I feel like my iPhone is safe in it but wanted something that seemed a little more sturdy and long lasting thus the reason for me ordering the Capsule Rebel (black).
Im really particular with my cases for ANY device (went through 5, yes 5! cases for my PSP before I settled on one) so I tend to over examine these things in some people's eyes so keep that in mind.
The case is packaged very nice in a plastic clamshell with the case and exo skeleton seperate from the accessories (in their own box) at the bottom of the package.
In my haste (I was rushing out the door) I took off my Agent 18 and popped on (per the quick instructions on the package) the Capsule Rebel.
My thoughts:
Positive:
- The case is really pretty, I mean you will get people asking you what case you have (it is that different looking).
- Clearly this is not silicone, just as stated it is a different material and feels very nice to the touch and vould appear more durable.
- The case covers the docking port (through a seperate plug), volume buttons and power buttons.
- The built in covers for the buttons are super comfortable and make it verry easy to adjust volume and/or power on or put to sleep your iPhone.
- The rounded plastic edges seem very sturdy and should protect well against drops.
Negative:
- I felt pretty uncomfortable snapping the exo skelleton on to my iPhone. Yes the interior shell covers the iPhone and the exo skelleton snaps on to that but it still made me feel like I was going to scratch the bezel putting this thing on.
- The case covers much less of the face of the iPhone than even my Agent 18. So much less that you can see the seams between the screen and the iphone itself.
** The Deal breaker for me:
- The case fit the iPhone very well except at the bottom by the home button. No matter what I tried the case would not sit flush to the bottom therefore slightly exposing the bezel. Now its possible this could be just my case, I did pull it out of a very HOT mailbox and maybe the case warped shape?? But either way this left me with a very uneasy feeling.
Like I mentioned at the beginning of writing this, I put the case on as I was leaving my home to go to the store and the whole time I was out I just did not feel comfortable with the case on. While I was out I tried re adjusting the case to get it to fit correctly at the bottom but no such luck. As soon as I got home I removed the case from my iPhone which was a massive effort (unsnapping the exo skelleton took force and felt like I was going to scratch the bezel but thankfully got it off without issue.
Again, I am very obsessive with my cases so maybe I am over examining this. I will say I had very high hopes for this case, so much that I ordered a white one as well! Again, the case is beautiful and comes with a ton of extras but just did not give me a secure feeling.
Unfortunatelly, it looks like I will be selling both and waiting for my next case to come (iSkin Revo2).
Until then the Agent 18 stays on my iPhone.
Again, I will work on posting pics as soon as I can.

Im sure if you contact SwitchEasy they'd be fine with sending you a replacement so you can see if it was just a case defect on the home button thing. Ill be sure to check for this when i receive mine. Still waiting, no update on shipping info since yesterday saying its been "Processed."

When I got my iPhone 3G on launch day I had already made up my mind that I was going to keep it caseless, but I am really liking this case and am seriously considering getting it. My main drawback is that I also spent the $30 on the 3G dock, and this will make it no longer fit (and it'd be a huge pain to get the case off every time I wanted to dock it, so my dock would basically become useless and money thrown away.
I would definitely like to see some real-world pictures of this thing and see what people have to say about how much bulk it adds... one of my big annoyances with a lot of cases is that they add a bit of bulk to the phone and I really like the sleek feeling of the naked phone.
If I get one, I'll probably order the Arctic one from Amazon, as I don't want to fully hide my iPhone.
As for the guy above that got his... I would seriously hope that it's just a defect in the case you received... I believe the shots on the website are renderings, but they all show the case very flush with no chrome showing through... so maybe it's worth a try to get it exchanged.
