Just ordered the ExoMount Cd holder, looks good, been using a Brodit on the side of the console for years, will be good to have my 5S up higher. Don't like window mounts.

I have old EXOGEAR Exomount and it still works pretty well but they don't have the old one anymore. Instead, there is another one I found and it sticks to dashboard and tree(?). I am not sure if it really does but looks interesting.

In my opinion the breffo spiderpodium is the best car dash mount about as it has 8 flexible spider like legs so you can use it portrait or landscape and whats even better, I won't have to get a new mount when I get a new phone...Ideal!!! :D

I bought this mount a year back now and I love it. Use it mainly in the air vents of my car but its great as when i'm using the maps on my phone I can just adjust the flexible legs and use the phone portrait or landscape. My wife bought one for the kids to mount their iPads on the headrests... keeps them quiet on long journeys!!

I use pro clip (proclip usa dot com)
Easy to install, secure and customizable. Can get different mounts if you get a different phone. No damage to the car. All the other kinds blocked my view or were not secure enough.

I got the option with a lightning cable pass through, drilled a small hole in my center console and ran an adapter and cable to my main radio. Now my iphone docks...charges and plays music through the main system, as well as steering wheel controls!

I used a "grom" brand adapter. 70 bucks. They tend to last about 2 years before breaking.

I contributed to this campaign. Looks like a good design, and this company has successfully shipped before so I have faith.

I never really needed or wanted a car mount for my phone; I usually just put it in the cup holder or passenger seat. But, like other posters have mentioned, got the Kenu Airframe since it looked cool. After a week of use, I'm returning it since it's not as sensible as I thought. It blocks my vent and makes my phone cold when I have the A/C on. Also, taking it off sometimes require two hands and when putting it in, I have to make sure that the volume down button isn't being "pressed" by the grip.

Exogear CD Mount still going strong, and great investment! My wife wants one for her eyephone as well so maybe buy a 2nd unit for us at some point...still holds my Note 3 real well on the bumpy and potholed roads in the Great White North

Car dash mounts (which one are you using)

Got the Kenu Airframe. It's been great so far. I wanted something small and doesn't look like a large wart growing out of my dash. I wanted something small and inconspicuous.

Ram mounts

Ram Mounts, phone used as a dashcam.

It doesn't block my view, it gets my point of view recording and as for the phone mount itself I chose this as it has rubber tips which reduces vibration while recording.

Yep and turns your phone into a ice block, didn't sit right in my car, sent it back.

Good grief that on road trips or even cruising locally, I am not one of those who run their car AC at 64 F or maybe even much less if there is such a thing.

Love the heat of the tropics!

In what tropics do you live ?

The ones I visited were so humid that AC was the only choice, not because of temperature but to dry the air :(

Having tried many mounts including dashboard, windscreen, CD slot mounts and the Airframe, for me the Proclip is an easy winner and the only one I would spend money on.

ProClip Car Mount

For those of you who are using the ProClip mounts, do you recommend the open bottom or the mounts that allow for a pass through Lightning cable?

Will a Lightning cable other than an Apple Lightning cable work?

I appreciate any feedback you can offer as my iP6+ is coming in a couple of days (early). :)

ProClip. They are expensive and designed to mount directly into the dash/console via a clip and some double sided tape. They are custom made for each vehicle and very solid, generally very well made I'd say. They have models with adjustable sides for different widths (with case / without case) and have a pass thru for the Lighting cable. The mount is adjustable (swivel/angle) but in two of my vehicles I modified the mounting plate so it can't move at all.

Highly recommend the pro clip. I got the one with the lightning pass through. Adjustable for your case size. Easy to install and very, very strong. Doesn't wobble, etc. Good product.
