I live in a concealed carry state as well, in a major metro area (Minn/St. Paul) and I never hear of this happening.....wonder if there's a connection?

Hmm, lets see San Francisco, Los Angeles, the two worst 2nd amendment hating cities in the country- I think there is a connection. :D

Ha, I have my permit too. Just try to pull that gun on someone that just jacked a phone out of your hand.... See how far that gets you in court...

Glad i dont live in a big city.... although i am going to Disney World the day after i get my iPhone 4....dont think there will be too many thieves there though.

I carry a glock 30 so if some idiot tries to snatch my iPhone (or anything) he'll be enjoying at least 10 .45 acp hollow points in his face.

Yeah, I'm not going to shoot a guy in the back over a snatch and grab obviously. But if they pull a knife that is an entirely different calculus. But like I said, I don't think it really is an issue where I live.

You have a right to protect your life and your property. Nobody who is willing to steal a phone deserves to live anyway. I say do away with them all.

I think Apple needs to have a thing where you report to them that the phone has been stolen so that if someone buys it off eBay or keeps it for themselves, it'll automatically deny activation and say to return it back to where you got it.

I love Texas...home of the shoot before you retreat.

I carry a Springfield XD45 everyday. Try and take my phone. In Texas you can shoot someone in the back legally.

Yep, if the GSM carriers in North America got together and made a database for stolen device IDs and ban them from the network like they have in other countries they could nearly eliminate this theft and the violence that goes with it.

Doesn't that mean the person trying to take your phone may have a gun too?

You can't be serious. No damn phone is worth your LIFE.

To fanboy it is :D

I'd grab the person trying to steal my iPhone, throw him in the trunk of my car and take him back to my house. Make it look like he broke into my home, kill him in my home so I won't get in trouble outside my property.

Wait for CSI Horatio Cain to show up and still keep my iPhone 4 :)

Doubtful... People who legally carry guns have to go through a FBI background check and have a clean history. Odds are the person who has been a good American throughout their life, abides by the laws, passes teh background check, takes the class, qualifies in shooting and now has a license is not going to be the thug snatching iphones.

In Minnesota a concealed carry holder is less than 1/10th as likely to commit any crime including traffic violations as compared to the general population. I'm sure it is similar in other states.

Glock 27 w/ Crimson Trace. I wouldn't live where I could not carry - it's our (citizens of the US) right ya know.

100% with you

Well almost. My 27 has an armalaser and custom night sights. I like the form factor on that laser and don't like holsters.

Btw, really cool to see all of the armed Mac folks here :)

Wow, you guys are nuts.
Remind me not to ever come back here again, k?

What the **** would you need a gun for?
Trust me, my town isn't perfect and, yes, there are robberies/murders but I would never carry a gun.

Just my 17 year old mind.
