What about startup time? Do you have to wait long from switching on ignition before carplay is fully operational?
 
I mentioned the new V2 version of the U2W Carlinkit 'activator' - well, according to their Facebook page, this isn't new hardware (as I assumed) it's simply the massively new updated firmware - which solves a whole stack of issues including connection stability, song name/track title display, etc.

and I quote:

"U2W (Wireless carplay adapter for factory carplay)
all-new system will release in 10 days.

Let us wait for it.

The update log as follows:
1.Improved connection speed
2.Improved music sound quality
3.Fixed the disconnection issue.
4.Solved Album name no shows in the dashboard
5.Better compatibility(Work on more brand car)
6.All-new visual connection picture."

and

"All hardware is the same,only firmware version is different.
You can update it when new firmware comes out"

Hope this is the same update for the CarLinkit as they also told me a big update coming. I’m not suspecting, both these look identical that they are actually the same device.

Hopefully this fixes for me, as mine has never worked yet. All they said on WhatsApp was a big update coming late Nov or Dec.

I'm talking about the Carlinkit CPC200-U2W - and I think that's what you have too...yes? Either way, I also suspect that they're the same devices - anyone's guess as to who the actual manufacturer is.
 
If Carplay2air and Carlinkit are the same thing (bar branding) then according to the information I have (and posted above) the new firmware will be on or before 9th December.
My understanding they aren’t the same thing. Plus carplay2air seller stated Nov 22 to 29 nov. but it’s been crickets with them. I have been emailing for over a week with no response. He’s basically gone dark.
 
Same here. Lost contact half way support mails. Still cannot use the Carplay2air in my car.
 
So, although my unit seems to be working ok with the occasional glitches ,, if the seller doesn’t respond by end of week I will be making a claim with my CC company to get my money back.
 
Hi guys I’m new to the site and came across this thread while looking for help for my CARLINKIT wireless unit. I have had a Mercedes Android aftermarket screen since July and the carlinkit cabled unit since the same date. I had nothing but issues with connection constantly dropping and just unusable. I was told by the seller to try different settings and other things and nothing worked. They then advised it’s my screen or iPhone xs Max at fault.

So over the last month I have replaced everything with brand new products so a new Mercedes android screen a new iPhone 11 Pro Max and a new CARLINKIT wireless dongle.

After installation of everything the wireless car play was working fantastic until I turned the car off then I had nothing but connection issues again like the previous model. I have since tried resetting the settings updated everything Downgraded the box version like requested and it just refuses to work wirelessly.

i have since plugged it in via a cable and to be fair it was working lovely but today again nothing but issues even on the cable, when it works it’s fantastic but the constant dropping and reconnecting is really starting to annoy me now and I don’t know what to do.

has anyone got any great tips or ideas on how to get this working correctly .. ? Or shall I just cut my losses and give up ? Thank you all in advance for your help and time
 
What car do y'all use it on? Sounds like it works pretty well with Audi MMI but not so much with MBUX? Probably good idea to include your car model and year in this thread.

I'am using a 2019 Seat Arona. Carplay2air isn't working for me. Somehow it can connect but on the screen I see nothing / only some garbage and it keeps saying 'connecting'.

Somehow sound is working / I can play for example spotify and then music is going through my car speakers but nothing more is working.

I tried all modes / reconnects / reboots everything but it always is the same.

Tried contacting the seller and after 2 mails he stopped answering.

I am tired of waiting on them. I disputed this charge with Apple Card today. They are looking into it and I recomend that any of you that still can do this also.

Change your mode to 3.
 
Tried that already.. nothing changed? did reboot everything tried multiple reconnects in mode 3.. (all modes btw) but I cannot get it to work.

You can’t. You need to wait for the seller to send it after you repeatedly keep asking. I’ve emailed 3 more times and no response. I’ve officially put a claim in on my credit card.

Undo everything. Remove the CarPlay setting in settings on iPhone. Remove the Bluetooth. Reboot phone. Unplug dongle.

Plug dongle back in. Attempt to connect to Bt. Make sure to change it to mode 3 right away. Once connected don’t touch anything on the screen or phone for up to 45 seconds.
 
I'm quite disappointed with Carplay2Air. Got the dongle last week and tried to use it yesterday. Can't even get the Bluetooth peer to show on my iPhone. Nothing. Dead. The red LED comes up, stays one for a while and then turns off. After a few seconds it comes on again and the cycle repeats.

Anyone has seen this behavior? Any ideas? Anyone know how to do a "reset" on these things?

I tried plugging it on my Mac and it shows as an iPhone on the "System Information". The red LED is on all the times. Showing as an iPhone is expected. But Bluetooth does not start under this condition.

I tried contacting the seller (that is in China) twice and got no response. I will give it a try once again tonight. If I receive no response, I will dispute the charges with my credit card company too.
