RELEASE IT!!!

The rumors are heating up, where there's smoke there's fire, these gotta be releasing soon

This is actually the G6 PowerBook that is being tested.Runs 360 hours on one battery charge. The battery is about the size of a AAA cell. These units use just a tad more power than the olden days crystal detector radio receiver. For you youngsters, check that out. To be the first PowerBook to ship with a built-in full sized keyboard with a numeric keypad, back lit as it is. Has all of the things that we have lon wanted like: SATA III, USB 3, FW3200 or will it be FW 6400, because of size it will have a video card that can run 4 DL displays using DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort, HDMI, & DL DVI. For a small additional price some one will come out & turn your new G6 PowerBook on for you. Because of the included solar cell power system there will be no need to every shut down. This is for those that want to brag about not shutting down in 3 years or more. Because everything is done with WiFi & other wireless technologies there will be no need to restart for updates as everything is done at an Apple data farm. To lower the further power requirements one can opt for the lower 48 KB of memory rather than the standard 64 KB. What do we need onboard memory or onboard storage for? Everything is WiFi. For those that do not have a 1 TB data upload & download speeds for an additional fee, (not yet set) one can have their own personal & private satellite tracking antenna. There are just a few left at some military surplus sites. But many will have trouble as most zoning codes will not allow 2-400 ft diameter dishes in most zoning laws. These units use just a tad more power than the olden days crystal detector radio receiver. For you youngsters, check that out.

Included as an incentive will be the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, the iPhone 6 & a dummy iPhone 7 models. The deluxe models will also ship with an iPad 3 & iPad 4. And in keeping with the past year but not this year before will come the free old model of the iPod Touch.

We just as well have a good & different rumor from the past for a while.

agreed, Apple did say that there will be a "future product transition" in this quarter. What other product can they possibly launch in the next month apart from the iPhone 5?

15" & 17" MacBook Air

I love Apple, I love the anticipation and surprise of new product reveals, but it seems to me Apple's strategy of secrecy bites them in the ass in cases where problems can only be revealed by extensive testing.

But the fact that Apple never really test the final design is what got us in trouble with design flaw in the last one regarding the Antenna.

As for testing I agree seal boxes you can get most of your testing and hardware testing real world done. Heck a lot of times they have a bunch of cars that have quite a few phones in that drive around making and receiving calls testing things out. It was a pretty cool article to read when I read it years ago.

But final design you need the device in the wild being tested by real people.

I actually don't think that is the case here. If you look at Apple's products, they rarely have a debilitating flaw once released. An iPhone has never had a hardware bug (I'm not counting iphone 4 as bug, that was intentional). Comapre to Samsung who has had GPS bugs with their Galaxy S line, for example.

I think what happened with the iphone 4 is that they were aware of the flaw, but someone high up dismissed it because it represented a significant design change and they felt it was something they could wave away as typical of cell phones and not an anomaly.

The problem was two-fold. 1) Apple is under insanely high scrutiny for product quality, higher than any other in the consumer electronics field. 2) The flaw was disastrously acute. It would have been easy if it was a particular area of the phone that you couldn't grasp (you should never cover the antenna on any phone if you don't have to), but it's pretty hard to ignore when the fault is easily demonstrable by simply bridging a small gap with one's finger. These two things meant that a PR poostorm was inevitable. The iphone 4 is and continues to be a good performer reception wise. It's susceptibility to human contact is so acute though that it is hard to ignore.

Well, if it's a future product transition that's supposed to affect the quarter ending in September, it still could mean an October launch date. If Apple announces the new iPhone in early September, then that would mean that sales of the iPhone will dry up in anticipation of the October release, which would negatively affect the current quarter. Even now, there are probably a significant number of people not purchasing the iPhone 4 waiting for the new model.

I have to agree. You always have to make trade-offs in development. And I think the perception with the antenna issue got worsen'ed by the proximity sensor bug that was more of an issue than the antenna issue. I "dropped" more calls because of the proximity sensor issue then the antenna ever. It was really just a media frenzy... much like the cell tower location file on the iPhone.

I know people have made the bar joke over and over...

But I do wonder if the Apple Employee who had his phone stolen last time will be testing the iPhone 5 in the wild this time. :)

How sad. Apple is so secretive and yet with all their products lately more details get leaked to the press than for any other product from any other company.

re iP5 in test boxes

yes - ever since aapl has put prototypes in big boxes I for sure have not left my prototype at the bar - so now I can enjoy my 3 shots of jack daniels and not forget my prototype - doh

All this anticipation coupled with the slow release of leaks is killing me! I want it to be released already. But, at the same time I wonder something; if Apple goes through this much trouble to hide an update to a current product, imagine the craziness that would ensue if they were to release a brand nee product. It would be chaos on these boards.

I am one of them. Nothing wrong with my 3GS, but it is 2 years old.

You know, I have to congratulate apple for not leaking the new iPhone yet. I mean it is the most anticipated device in the planet by a landslide. I'm surprised we haven't seen it months ago. Honestly, my number 1 request has always been a bigger screen, and if the rumors are true about 4.3-4.7 inch screen I am a happy customer who will buy it on day one.

By the way people, stop with these iPad 3 rumors for this year. Steve Jobs would not lie on keynote presentation. Year of iPad 2, means exactly what it says. Blu ray being a bag full of hurt, means exactly that, so on and so forth.

My money is on Steve Jobs getting up there on stage and saying, "The iPhone 5 has a 4.5 inch screen yet it is smaller than any 4.3 inch device from our competitors. It still has the same retina display and dimensions..." And he will go on to explain why 250ppi is still retina display because when you have a 4.5 inch display you don't keep it as close to your face as a 3.5 inch display.

That's because 99.314159265358979323846264338327950288419716939937510% of the people on the planet aren't wasting their time looking for rumours of an incremental upgrade to a phone that has sales figures that aren't out of the background noise for worldwide phone sales.

OMG - I don't know if this statement means that you are immune to the RDF, or that you've totally succumbed to it.

Won't a dummy body cause problems in testing, as opposed to using a phone without a cover?

There are no problems with Apple products.

This is how you end up w/ issues such as antennagate. :D

Antennagate was not an issue. It was merely dumb consumers holding the phone wrong.

LOL, sealed boxes, dummy enclosures... What next, retina scans, rfid chip implants?

Get over yourself Apple, it's a f'n phone, and you aren't NASA.

Amen.
