I got an ampersand this morning (see below). Also, the location is having trouble keeping up with my drive to work. I drive about 22 miles to work, through 4 small New England towns. When I arrived at work, it was still in town #2. Now its stuck in town #3, about 8 miles from my current location.

Here's another new one. * with the correct location (to be fair I've never left). I've also had ampersands though.
[doublepost=1455204037][/doublepost]In fact opening and closing the app turned it into an ampersand.
[doublepost=1455204176][/doublepost]Only opening the iPhone app, then opening the watch app 15 seconds later, seemed to get rid of it this time. Does that sound right?

I've been getting the "&" most of today as well.

Something is obviously not right.

Sorry to swear but My wife is finding an alternative weather app complication much more accurate on her AW, yeah, it might not update as often but what's the point of more regular updates if they're incorrect?

Not forgetting, we're paying extra for these regular updates.

I've every faith in the developer sorting this out but this is dragging on a bit now.

*crestfallen

I wasn't having a pop pal.

I've always complimented you on your input and assistance with myself and the guys on here.

Carrot Weather has always been my go to weather app on my iPhone and on the AW the small complication works a treat and that's how I'll continue to use it.

As you've mentioned, with the addition of a location name and the &,*, users are more aware of when the app isn't working how it should. (Or at least not updating how it should)

You'll get there pal or at least your app will. ;)

It would be a shame to give up now with the work you've put in to the betas. As noted in post #324, I had a near perfect day across a 400 mile road trip last Saturday, so it's not all bad. And as a side note, we've finally confirmed the existence of gravitational waves, 100 years after Einstein predicted them. It just takes time...

Of course, just frustrated that something that should be simple is taking so much effort when I could be doing something more useful/fun :p

Hoping that this next beta has a little more success, we'll see!

Like making a simple weather conditions and precipitation chance complication? ;)

I woke up this morning to an *&.

The wifi here is flaky so I'm not surprised if the location check fails occasionally

Woo Hoo! Test Flight has been updated and it now works with the new iOS 9.3 Beta 3!!. I was able to load the newest CARROT Beta. I'm back!

i was able to load the newest beta before todays test flight update onto 9.3 beta 2 and 3 just fine.

Interesting. I am on iOS 9.3 Beta 3 developer as well as Watch OS 2.2 Beta Developer and was able to load the Beta to my phone fine. My issue as well as many others in the developers forums was unable to push the Watch portion from the phone to the watch.

When you flipped the install switch in Test Flight it would turn it self off.

I had the same issue with another watch beta as well.

I spotted the new test flight and in the release notes it was updated to work with Watch OS 2.2 Beta.

Now tell me if I am wrong but I am guessing that you on the public Beta release of 9.3 Beta 3.

The public Beta does NOT include the Watch Beta just the phone piece.

Yeah, I had a bunch of people having the same issues with TestFlight who were on the watchOS beta, and there were lots of threads on various dev forums about it. I think they probably just changed some things behind the scenes and required a new version of TestFlight for everything to work again. Glad it's fixed now!

I have one question about this location thing.

If I'm in Shenzhen and I go to another city but when the complication updates it can't get a fix on my location.... What weather will be displayed?

If you just arrived recently and it's showing an error, then it might still be showing data for the old location. If you've been there for a while, then it's probably data for the new location - the updates happen so frequently throughout the day that the errors can show up really often as a result as well.

In other news, I think I might have made some progress on a location workaround. We'll see how it goes this weekend when I actually leave the house...

My point was I think itd be worse to see new location name and old location weather or old name and new location weather than old location and old weather.

Most extreme example I can think of - flying to another country.

I've not massively thought through the implications.

I'm just trying to be helpful where I can :D

Had my large complication set to calendar (my normal setting). I just switched it to Carrot5. Asterisk+location was there briefly, but within 2 seconds switched to just location. Also, seeing the less than sign for total snowfall today. Making progress!!!!

Also, @MakerOfCARROT, I know your dilemma re using "light" and "heavy" for snowfall rates. One possible solution is to do what the National Weather Service does and use "+SN" for heavy snow and "-SN" for light snow. Or modify it a bit with "+Snow" and "-Snow". Just a thought...

does this carrot weather use data from any other large "weather" company? you know like apple weather app use data from weather channel

edit: ok, I find that information by myself

edit2: I bought this app, basically just because I know (or think I know) how much effort must author put in this app and that should be rewarded :)

As you probably figured out, yes it uses forecast.io for its data which is usually very very accurate.

I never left Naperville today.

Doesn't mean anything really, it's still trying to check and update your location regardless of whether you actually move or not. (And even if you're in your house all day, your location still changes slightly throughout the day, mostly because the accuracy of the GPS lock can vary a bunch.)

I saw big improvements with the changes I made over the weekend, going to do a little more testing before I put it out this time.
