For those following along - I emailed C-M support to see if they could recommend an extension cable or adapter. Their response:

Dear Jeremy,

Thank you for your inquiry. Aftermarket charging cables and accessories are not compatible with the iPhone 4 Jett Metal case, so I am unable to recommend any particular dock or charger.

:( Sort of wishing I hadn't thrown out the packaging. Might just bite the bullet and go with an e13ctron case...

What back skins are compatible with this case? I think I've seen someone use the luckylabs skin in this thread. Are there any more? (eg. gelaskins, sgp skin guard)

I'd say all because the case doesn't go over the front or back screen.

Just a FYI, I've reverted back to my OB Defender due to the charger incompatibilty. I've disposed of my boxing for my case so unfortunately I can't return it now. I'm selling my Jett for $25 shipped if anyone is interested.

My overall impression of the Jett after a week or so:
- No reception problems (I have a clear lucky labs wrap around the edge of the phone).
- Fits great and all the ports/buttons line up perfectly.
- For compatible dock extenders try radtech.us, they usually offer some sort of discount if you follow them on twitters - @radtech. Great company with stellar customer service.
- Any/all skins should work on the back/front of the iPhone
- The SIM tray side seems to fit just a millimeter tighter together than the buttons side, probably just a structural thing. Does NOT effect case feel/security
- Buttons work great and look/feel fantastic. Slight rattle on the mute toggle but nothing too annoying.
- Had the case for almost two weeks and I'm loving every minute!

*STILL a problem with the pictures. Cleared cache and tried on Firefox (was using Chrome before) but I'm still getting an error. I guess if anyone is DYING to see the hunter green pics, they can PM me. The color is pretty much a forest green shade as seen on the CaseMate website.

See page 6 of this thread for pictures of back plates

...originally, I too, was after the brushed aluminium back plate - wanted to combine it with my grey/gun metal Jett and thought it would look awsome.

When I actually put it on though, it kinda made the phone look and feel a lot bigger than I was comfortable with (I bought the backplate which has a bevelled edge - some of them are just totally flat).

Also, it didn't really all fit together very well - when I installed the back plate and then put back on the Jett case, it left a very visible gap along one side. It was as if the bevelled edge of the back plate was not allowing the Jett case to fully close together.

Anyway - I didn't like the look in the end, so removed the back plate and re-attached my carbon plate.

Now just waiting for my black Jett to arrive - this combined with my carbon back is gonna look wicked IMO :D

I got mine on friday and after 2h i was going back to original. The Reception in Switzerland is very good but with that case i got 2-3 bars less than normal. Even with the LuckyLabs Decal Wraps!

The case looks great but I dont use it with this issues....!!!!

Just got mine today.

Does anyone have issues if the volume rocker? The buttons on mine aren't raised enough. The up volume is stuck on the on position. The down clicks normal.

Make sure that when you install the case, that there is none or very very little pressure putting the case together. If should either drop in like the video or just a very slight push. The top of the case should be flush where the two pieces come together.

Okay I'll give that a go in a few. A couple hours ago I ordered a replacement part kit from case-mate. My power and vibrate switch work just fine.

*EDIT* Thanks for the tip Slapppy. I got the volume rocker working perfect!

I made the mistake on the first try. The video shows the person just lining up the top and slowly lowering it where it just drops right down. Mine didn't, I had to push it down a bit... hmmm so took it apart and tried again. This time lining up the top better and slight pressure. Then the bottom just dropped right down, like the video. Glad it worked out for you. :)

Yeah. I kept putting the phone all the way down in the case. I guess that was the issue with the volume.

Over all it's a pretty kick-ass case. Better than the Apple bumper, I think. Less movement with the Jett and more secure. The aluminum gives it a nice touch.

got mine yesterday, installed last night and trying it out today

- the case makes the phone seem alot bigger...
- reception drops a bar of two upon immediate contact of the antenna corner (i have a wrap around the antenna area) so i could see a drop call problem happening... imagine if i didnt have a wrap!
- small gap on the side with volume rocker and mute button... no gap on the other side

its a neat idea, but so far i am not that impressed... i maybe returning this so we'll see

i ordered the black jett
