Well, not if tradition has anything to say about it. That, and has an iPhone ever launched in China at the same time as the US launch, which is inevitably first? Heck, has it ever launched outside North America the same day as the US launch?
yes. iPhone 4 launched in U.S, France, Germany, Japan and the UK all on the same day.

Also they seem pretty confident when talking about the design, idk if thats just just to sell more hypothetical cases or not but

"The new iPhone 5 will feature a completely different form factor than its predecessor. Wider and thinner, the redesigned device features an extended home button. The screen size COULD see an increase to 4 inches.

Also included in the iPhone 5 will be an A5 dual-core processor, similar to the one used in the iPad 2. It will also be equipped with an 8 mega-pixel camera, wireless charging and iOS 5, which features iCloud portable storage capabilities."

regardless, this makes it much more interesting and also with the above comment about the conference!

That doesn't sound very confident to me.

So, not to perpetuate a over-pushed rumor (but I am anyway)... LTE iPhone 5?

http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/15/atandt-to-officially-deploy-its-lte-network-september-18th/

Timeframe seems to be in line, just in time for an LTE iPhone 5.
Nah, Apple sells half of its iPhones to international markets, the vast majority of which have no commercial LTE network. LTE is a feature that could be used by only a small percentage of users.

Historically, Apple has been conservative about adopting new cellular network technologies and waited to deploy new cellular technology only when it had widespread deployment on a global basis. LTE does not have global widespread deployment at this time.

The most likely scenario would be for Apple to add HSPA+ support. HSPA+ has been widely deployed throughout the planet, with many markets enjoying their third generation HSPA+ networks. That would benefit the maximum number of users, not LTE support at this time.

would it be totally out of line to say that all these iphone 5 design rumors could actually be the new ipod touch? i mean, they look EXACTLY like the current ipod touch models, with the exception of being slightly bigger. wouldn't this design for an iphone 5 be a step backwards?

I think you're absolutely right. Look at the side of the device, notice how there are ONLY volume controls a la iPod Touch. There is NO mute switch, for the iPhone . This is the new iPod Touch!!!!

C'mon MR -- Case Mate isn't working off leaked Chinese documents. Their stuff is top-shelf, sold at the Apple Store itself. I'd bet significant sums of money that they have access to all details of the iP5 right now from Apple (possibly an empty shell or 3 in addition to the specs) to ensure a robust ecosystem of iP5 products at or near launch.

This is the real deal, IMO.
True, you remember before the iPad 2, there was that case which was already there in that gadget show? It was accurate and is sold for the real device. You may be absolutely correct.

Is still conductive. Which means it wouldn't work as the casing would act as a shield to the inductor on the inside of the phone trying to receive power. It's possible you could have two rubberized parts, one for cellular antenna and one for inductive charging, on the back, but that seems to defeat the purpose.

Carbon fiber

:p

I am not shocked at all to learn of a MAJOR update coming in the iPhone5, they needed too. I have turned onto Android couple years ago, last iPhone for me was the slow and choppy 3G. But phones like the Nexus-One and Samsung Galaxy S2 are really good products. Plus Apple taking an extra 4 months longer than the usual 12 month release cycle, would lead me to think they have a big revision planned for this generation.

If the iPhone5 truly does have a 4" screen, and wireless charging, plus the already known new "notification" system in iOS5, this will be the one iPhone to bring me back.

Not a question if the iPhone 5 will have new notifications. It will.

Anyone who thinks that a bigger screeen is ivalidated, get ready for a suprise.

I saw that article earlier on engadget and couldnt help but think that is whats going on.

I also got a text from ATT this morning saying i have been upgraded to unlimited mobile to any mobile for being a "loyal customer". My contract is up in 2 months, they're trying to keep me around when the phone drops..Touche ATT, Touche

How exactly does it work on the TouchPad? o_o Did HP provide some sort of mat?

Yeah, the TouchStone (got heavily discounted too) :

http://www.shopping.hp.com/store/product/product_detail/FB339AA%23ABA

Paid 30$ for the TouchStone, a bargain. The TouchPad detects when it gets put on it and swaps over to Demo mode instantly, displaying a clock instead of blanking the screen. You can then modify the Demo settings to do other things like Weather, etc.. and 3rd party apps can plug into the Demo stuff. It's really neat seriously. Something that would be nice on my next phone Apple!

Concrete evidence for a redesigned iPhone 5 has been surprisingly scant
It's only surprising if you assume a redesigned iPhone 5 is about to be released.
I don't know why anyone is assuming that at this point.
The evidence seem to point mostly the other way: the next iPhone does not have a significantly redesigned appearance.

Anyone who thinks that their lack of sources are above all of these sources are i-diots, get ready for a... well it's not even a surprise.

At this point, I'd say no one has a source. We'll know when it gets announced. Anyone that was right in the end will have been right only through sheer luck.

What if Apple themself set up the fake leaks so what casemanufactures think is the iPhone 5 actually is the next gen iPod Touch and the iPhone 5 will be completely different from that ;)

Wireless charging basically requires a specialized pad which is bulkier than the dock connector cable and the current AC charger.

power pads are or will soon become a thing of the past. There are serious radiation leak concerns that coincide with conductive wireless power. There's far better and safer wireless charging technologies available these days than those charge pads of the early 2000's and they're getting smaller by the day.

perhaps you're correct in that the current technologies are too large, but we've all seen apple's patents on incorporating it into their iMacs, perhaps they've gone one step further and figured out how to make it small enough to hide plugged into the corner outlet at this point. safe, room ranged wireless power has been around for at least 2-3 years now.
