^Uh.....no

Alright Apple, the jig is up...we know about the new phone now. Its okay to give us confirmation.

Rumors, more rumors, and still no announcement. I'm beginning to think maybe there won't be an iPhone 5...

This is making sense now..

My new guess....

The iPhone 4s will be the subsidized contract phone on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint. Upgraded specs for the top models. A4/8gb model for the low end to replace the 3GS, and for the prepaid market.

The mysterious iPhone "5" will be the new iPod. Either wi-fi only, or with 3G. Just like the iPad. Data plans optional.

The iPod Nano will be renamed something else, and will be cheaper. The iPod Shuffle will die.

Maybe ur right about the iPod but u are completely wrong with ur guesses for the iPhone

Here's my guess.

I think the only reason Apple is waiting to announce the iPhone 5 is related to IOS 5 and iTunes Match.

Once that is solidified the iPhone will be out.

Wow, these cases look slick. I really like the black tire tread design. May have to bookmark this and check them out when released. Very slick, thanks MR for the tip!

Personally, I like the current iPhone4 design as well as most of the renders i've seen, so its no huge deal either way for me.

I do think it would be HILARIOUS if Apple "leaked" or released the CAD drawing a couple of months back that everyone seems to be going off of as a big decoy and F U to all the people using leaks to design things for the phone.

If you like the tire tread diesgn, they have one out with the same basic design right now for th e iPhone 4.

It's not like some graphic design tech at case-mate just did some doodling this morning and posted that page. A large company like Case-mate will have decisions from much higher up to start rendering images and building pages for these cases. It's likely that the pages were accidentally launched too soon. They probably pulled it when a webmaster noticed heavy traffic and blew the whistle that the pages were live.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least to learn that some doodling 20-something web tech was instructed to pull this page together and posted it without approval... only to have his boss send a directive to have it pulled.

This case obviously isn't official or representative of how the iPhone will look but i hope it shuts up those who seem to oppose any idea of large changes to the iPhone. People seem the bitterly reject any rumors that suggest a significant upgrade and instead claim it will be a 4s with same design etc...

You think case-mate is that haphazard with their marketing?

iPhone 5 and iPod touch 3G: same form factor?

Wouldn't it be cool if Apple shipped an iPod touch with built-in 3G data connectivity and optional upgrade to voice calls? With the same form factor as the new iPhone 5?

Just sayin'.

Here's my guess.

I don't think the iPhone announcement has anything to do with iOS 5 but rather FCC approval of the Sprint and TMob flavors. Apple has announced major products a month and more before the actual ship date in the past so even if iOS 5 wasn't quite ready for showtime yet it doesn't seem that would stop them Apple from ginning up the hype machine for the iPhone 5 at the first possible moment, assuming IT was ready for showtime.

The other thing is everyone is assuming Apple is waiting on something, when in fact, everything could be going according to plan. We are the only ones really waiting -- and for nothing since the iPhone is fairly mature at this point. The iPhone 4 is an excellent phone for 99% of the population, including me, but I like new toys.

Wow this thread is gaining new posts faster than I can read them. But that doesn't surprise me at all.

oh by the way I don't like that plastic volume buttons I hope it's aluminum buttons like iPhone 4 don't like plastic parts on a sexy phone..As for cases I don't really rock cases much on my iPhone

I agree, the aluminum volume buttons look much better than the plastic ones they are currently using on the iPad/iPod touch.

I saw that article earlier on engadget and couldnt help but think that is whats going on.

I also got a text from ATT this morning saying i have been upgraded to unlimited mobile to any mobile for being a "loyal customer". My contract is up in 2 months, they're trying to keep me around when the phone drops..Touche ATT, Touche

I'm betting we'll see alot of these soon. They won't want to lose even more customers if the iPhone dos indeed also come to Sprint and T-Mobile.

I dunno, HP's TouchStone works as a stand for the HP TouchPad on top of charging it. It's dual purpose really. No need to have room range wireless charging, my phone doesn't yet float in the air. Just give me a sort of stand/pad to sit it on and I'm fine.

So what about when you pick up your phone to start using it? That will mean it'll stop charging.

Bleh. I love the current flat slab of glass/steel/glass. By far the most beautiful smartphone in the marketplace right now. It looks like a million bucks. Pure minimalistic elegance. I'd hate to see Apple retire this design so soon. :(

I really like the iPhone 4 look too. But too many people are breaking them too easily and that doesn't make the iPhone look as good in terms of durability.

My guess is that the first Apple device to get wireless charging wouldn't be the iPhone. It would be a peripheral like a mouse, trackpad or keyboard. While they would still operate on batteries, Apple users with room-range wireless charging would never have to change them.

I'd be willing to bet you're spot on about this.

iOS5 has a lot of changes and with iCloud needed a lot of testing. If anything iOS5 delayed the new iPhone...

Exactly. The delay was caused by IOS 5. Apple wants it up and running perfectly before they release their new devices.

Rumors pointing to redesign iPhone and Bigger screen
1. Leaked Cad drawings of iPhone 5.
2. Case Manufacturers(now including CM), heavily relying on leaked dimensions and mass producing iPhone 5 cases.
3. iPhone 5 icon in Photo Stream app shows 3.7 inch screen with elongated Home Button in iOS 5 beta.
4. Never before Cases have gone wrong in predicting exact dimensions of iDevices.(iPad 2 cases)

Rumors pointing to iPhone 4 design with speed bump
1. Tech Analyst Ming-chi Kuo found no traces of redesigned iPhone 5 in supplies. Only iPhone pointing to N94 Prototype iPhone 4S. A5 processor with 8MP.
2. Same thing by Andy Hargreaves.
3. Ming-Chi Kuo accurately(exactly) predicted iPad 2 dimensions, specs and even the curved aluminium back 2 months before iPad official announcement.

So both Contradicting Rumor reports are in balanced.
So, what am I saying is......My Mind is completely ****ed. Thank you.

I am in complete agreement with you. The conflicting rumours are starting to hurt my brain.

With rumours pointing both ways (i.e. redesigned not redesigned) I loved the picture Mac 9to5 had on their site the other day. It had been on a Dutch carriers site briefly. iPhone 4 sides but redesigned back, if (big if) this was the case then no wonder there are mixed rumours

Image

and then the other side from tech vulture the back here is curved as well

Image

To me these look more Apple than anything else I've seen but again anyones guess

Wow. I really like the look of this mockup.

Actually, I found the iPhone 5 icon in Apple's own photo stream beta the most credible...

Image

However, it could still be an iPod touch...

Image

I think that the PhotoStream icon is probably the best rumour we have yet. There's no way Apple would mess up a tiny detail like that on something they are launching that needs to be absolutely perfect.

Why did they take down the page yet put up another one talking about the iPhone 4S/5? Isn't that risky if they are actually sold at Apple stores or whatever?
