Case-Mate Preps for Release of iPhone 5 Cases with Revamped Design

I have a 3GS, and the "square" design of the iPhone 4 looked interesting. I was kinda hoping for that design when I got an iPhone 5.

The "iPad 2 look" is also nice (not as good as the iPhone 4). I have an iPad 2, and the way the buttons (and speaker) are pretty much on the back makes them a little hard to hit sometimes.

However, I would gladly take the iPad 2 design over some lop-sided teardrop shape. That wouldn't look right at all.
 
This sloping design, if you think about it the thickest part in a phone is a camera, if it is sloping you can bet the Apple design team have been feeling and holding this for ages, Apple cares about the whole experience not just visually, the cases could be for both iPod or iPhone, the iPod will also get a front facing camera for face time which on a 3.5" screen aint great but 4" would be better, also if I remember Steve Jobs said 3.5" is perfect and they don't need to go bigger, now he has resigned. I like the idea of a bigger screen but I have liked every iPhone.

yes it would these cases are clearly not designed for an iPod touch as they feature a slot for a sim card in the same place as on the current iPhone 4
 
I can just imagine, Apple never designed a new iphone 4.

and now they have been letting people get restless, leaking fake info and stuff.

and they are reading through this forum laughing their *** off. Imagine if there was no media event at all, imagine how much people would be freaking out,

all apple has to do is not have a media event, and not announce anything, and they could start the Apocalypse.

Not really relevant, but the first photo actually was not on a Dutch but on a Danish carrier's site:

However, on-topic: I really do agree with you that those renderings looked awesome and very Apple like and I hope with you the iPhone 5 will look just like that :)

I hope they do something more like the i4 style buttons. I really like the separate and round nature of the buttons- they are much easier to feel and use when the phone is in your pocket on (for example). I've always disliked the rocker style buttons on the iPod Touch.

This is yet another area where form is getting in the way of function.
 
I'm betting it's the Touch... it ain't rocket science...

4(G)S and Touch... iPhone retains same form factor (with a revised antenna that works properly, which had to be a hardware change all along), Touch gets bigger screen... because that would make SENSE on a Touch... iPhone is plenty big enough already.... for a phone. Touch get's 3G option...

Wrong... why not put 3G into Touch similarly to iPad. It has been rumored for some time and actually makes sense.

A 3G touch with iMessage and Skype would defeat the point of having an iPhone, which apple is obviously aware of. It would also make the ipod too much like a little iPad further reciprocating the negative reasons for having an iPad (in the uniformed people's eyes). "Isn't it just a big iPod Touch?"

Why would it have a mute button slot for an iPod touch case? And room for a sim card?

And the many people who want a bigger iPhone? What do you suggest they do, buy an iPod touch along with their iPhone? No, it makes more sense to have an iPhone 4S as the cheaper model, and a larger iPhone 5 as the updated model.

Also, I doubt you would see the iPod touch get features before the iPhone. Its always been that the iPhone's features trickle down into future iPod touch generations.

'Many' people want a bigger iPhone - you have market research or would that be you then?

iPad doesn't voice... so Touch wouldn't have to either... 3G can deliver identical functionality as iPad (which would make perfect sense on a Touch), no need to gouge....

I know really makes me mad. 169.99 minimum base plan now? I pay almost $200 with everything in my shared plan and now only base plan counts? WHAAT!?

damn come to think of it, what if this is the iPod touch. they could be trying to make the iPod touch the true "iPad Mini".

Rumors about the 3G iPod would explain the sim card tray
 
If your a company that makes accessories for the most popular phone. Why would you post this on your website? Do you think Apple will ever work with you again? In my opinion, this is a bad decision for a business to post possible designs before the product is announced.

I am anxious to see what the next iPhone is going to look like, but I am also thinking, if I was in their shoes, would I do this.:rolleyes:
