I used a black bumper on my iPhone 4 for a while... it was difficult to get in and out of my pocket (since it's rubbery-ish) and eventually it just fell apart.

Then I switched to a clear plastic Belkin (relatively) slim case. Been using it every since. Unfortunately, I have little scratches on the frame and very light scratches on the back. I think it's from dust/dirt/etc getting stuck in between the casing and rubbing against the phone. I don't use a front screen protector and it looks flawless.

I went 32GB white 4S and am just considering using it naked to be honest. I've been doing some browsing for a clear skin for the back and frame, but I haven't come to any conclusion. Might just go BSE if it'll work with the 4S (their images look like it's only made for the AT&T version).

It's a gorgeous device, I don't want to hide that.

get the white graft concepts case. It's beautiful. You can go with it as a "bumper" style or with the back plate for protection like in the pic below.

$60 !?

I like that the rubber on the bumper I don't want my phone to slide out of my pocket or my hand. If you have difficulty getting it out of your pocket you must have bigger issues to deal with.

I'm getting a leather pouch to carry it in my pocket, and so I can use it naked. The phone I mean... naked, not me. I'll have clothes on...

No case, if it breaks I have insurance. If you get too many scratches just take it to the genius bar and pretend that it has some software glitch or something lol, you'll get a refurbished one that looks brand spanking new.

Yea it may look new but doesn't always act new. AT&T made me get a refurb back in march for their own horrible reception issues and I've been plauged with issues that I never had on my original 4.

I owned an iPhone 4 for 16 months and used it without a case. Since I already got to experience the iPhone without a case, I might just use a case this time so I can have a higher resale value next year.

I think I'm going to use an InvisibleShield.

Yah, likewise. I just kept going back until I got one that worked like a charm.

alright so i decided to go no case, but i want a skin for the back at least...any suggestions?

ive noticed that my iphone 4 with no case had the back scratched and camera lense scratched to the point it blurred so of my photos. i case lifts the phone off table surface when you set it down so that your camera wont be effected. ill get a case when i get my 4s. wish i didnt have to though

Most of the time apple refurbs are better than new since apple tests them over and over again. New ones are not tested.

InCase Slider.

This is one of the best designed cases for the iPhone 4 series I've ever seen. It hardly adds any bulk, yet protects the phone fairly well and makes it a lot more grippable. I've yet to drop mine, but my friend has an iPhone 4 with the Slider and she (klutz! I hope she's not reading or I will be razzed!) has dropped it multiple times without incident.

I can't recommend it enough.

Of course, I'm not sure if there's a slider yet for the iPhone 4s. Have the dimensions and control placements remained the same as on the 4? I know they moved the silence switch slightly on the Verizon model; it'd be neat for someone to describe how the 4S differs from the 4 in this regard.

If you don't drop your phone, a case is pointless.

But if you do so, sometimes cases can be life-saver. I've dropped my iPhone 4 for several times (heavily in one case), leaving cracks on the plastic case, but the phone itself is intact.

I think I might just buy the Sena UltraSlim iPhone 4 case. It seems like a nice compromise between going naked and protecting it.
