Ceramic link bracelet would jack up the price significantly more than $1300. Additionally, the extra longevity that ceramic provides doesn't make much sense with a tech device that you want to upgrade every couple years or so.

yeah it would have added probably around the same price as a normal link bracelet which I would have gladly paid if I am already putting out that much cash. So I am just going to go with the black SS link this year and keep that watch (especially the bracelet) for years to come.

A ceramic link bracelet would actually be more expensive than the standard link bracelet.

Is the bottom of the stainless steel's ceramic different? My ss bottom definitely has a ton of tiny hairline microscratches that I was wondering about. It's always being pressed against my arm so I'm so confused as to where these tiny scratches are coming from

You will be surprise...dirt, sand, etc can get underneath, esp if you go to the beach often. My Swiss watch backs has some scratches too. (And this is why sapphire lens on the bottom is important.)

I'm a little surprised they didn't offer a ceramic version of the Hermes, complete with matching ceramic connectors. Maybe in the future they will offer a black ceramic Edition, which would make a few more bands available (e.g. the space black stainless steel link).

Hermes' claim to fame is leather, not metal.

And scarves. ;)

To my original post, I meant Apple, not Hermes. For the Hermes to work, it would need a ceramic connector (the rest of the band is fine, including the metal buckle. But Apple could offer a black ceramic Edition, which would then work with the existing space black link band.

I'm usually a pre-order guy. But I'm so torn on the ceramic vs SS that I'm going to take my band collection to the apple store in a couple weeks and see how the ceramic works (or doesn't) with my bands. Have quite a collection for better or worse so it's not a small issue for me. Worse case I'll get the SS and be happy.

I was thinking the black Milanese band would look great with it. Thing is I have the Hermès band that I love and the lugs would look terrible with it. I really think it looks amazing just doesn't have the band options it should.

The Ceramic Apple Watch is the only thing that was announced that I am excited about, but I already have a SS Apple Watch. I think the white will look awesome with most all the bands and won't show scratches.

I found a ceramic white link bracelet on eBay but it looks terribly crappy and cheap.... lol but you get the idea of what it would look like if they did make one. Personally I don't think it looks very good at all, only the silver or black stainless steel looks good as links.

if the links were a little tighter I think that would be perfect. Almost enough so for me to buy an edition of the link black SS I'm going to get

Actually, I think the ceramic watch will go great with most all of the watch bands! Hardly anything more "neutral" than shiny white. Even the classic buckle with the silver ss lugs will look fine, and certainly much better than with the space black ss or any aluminium model.

I literally can't think of a finish that would combine better with basically all watch bands than shiny white. Shame it's so expensive.

I would love to have it, I'm get the black SS with link so the price isn't that different, but I can't stand that it comes with a $30 sports band. They should have had it come with some sort of link, ceramic or otherwise. If I already had the black link I would buy it and wear it black(link) and white(case) and I think that would look amazing!

Really you think it would look good with SS?

I imagine so, yes. I like the combination of white and silver (had an iPhone 5s like that), and both finishes being shiny will help to make the two elements connect and not look too disparate. I guess we'll see pictures soon enough.

I was just going to say, I want to see them together to see what it looks like.

I also have a SS, love it but it does show the wear and tear more than I would like when I am at work under lights. Like others I am trying to figure out if the masking of scratches is worth the upgrade. I do love the color and think that it will look good with most of the bands, just not the price... especially when upgrading to the next iteration in ~1-2 yrs.

I also think that the ceramic version stark white is going to be a good contrast with the iPhone 7's black and jet black. Until they come out with the black ceramic version later and I hate my life ;)

If the back of your watch is dirty or grimy, and the charging puck is dusty, this is how those marks are being made.

Wipe off the watch before you put it on the charger (a couple swipes down your pant leg is enough) and brush off the puck once in a while.

I feel the exact same way. It looks awesome, but the price tag and all you get is the white sports band. Very, very disappointed with that. At least come out with a nice leather or metal band that is for just the that watch. Oh well I still might pre order it tonight.

Seriously... Going back and forth in my head. Right now I am leaning on just having a major "Treat yo'self" moment. When the first one came out I waited to make sure that there were no problems, but when there were none I was kicking myself for not having it. I don't think I can make that mistake again this time.

ceramic link is all i have to say. I would have paid the few extra hundies to get it over the black SS link I am getting.
