Whos idea was it to do an indoor drag race one-by-one? The FF91 must really suck, because they couldn't be bothered to use an external camera during its turn.

Does anyone else think it a bit odd that they didn't show the interior? If I was going to pay a $5000 deposit, I'd need to see more. Also, I'm not sure what is supposed to be impressive about seeing them shift dirt around on a site. I'm not saying it's a scam at all, but for some reason, that thought kept popping into my head as I watched.

They didn't give test drives like Lucid did either. From what I could tell they had two models. The one with an interior and the one that was able to post the 2.39 sec 0-60. Which may or may not of had an interior...

Interesting that they chose to put suicide style doors on it. Not very practical for people to exit the car in a tight space. There's a reason these style doors were dumped in the 60's.

Why is this front page on MacRumors?

It should be on Carrumors maybe but why front page on here? There is nothing Apple in the article, why is it being posted on this site?

Who cares? The only thing interesting in the EV market is whether it'll be Tesla or a Nissan or Renault that makes a car that's the price of mid-range family car that goes 200miles + on a charge.

Two things I noticed in the self-parking example. First, the smart car didn't know enough to put its lights on. Second, when it seemed to have finished parking, it was still sticking out too much.

The only doors that work in that kind of situation are gull wing and sliding doors. We all see how screwed up the falcon wing doors are on the X and sliding doors ruin aerodynamics.

tangentially, if this actually gets off the ground.... The app will want to have access to your contacts list, calendar, mail, etc. Which could be considered something that affects Apple. No word on if it will have CarPlay though.

Plus I think folks still want Apple to get in on this market.

Hey, for the sake of the EV industry I do hope these guys succeed on some level, but this car is not for most people sadly. I expect it will be well north of $100,000 to buy, probably closer to $200K.

The "normal" priced EV market has most of my attention. Chevy Bolt, Tesla Model 3, the 200+ mile next generation Leaf... These are the cars that will affect real change.

Any progress is good progress I suppose.

Why can't any company that makes a hybrid/electrical car make them look good. Tesla comes close, but ****, how hard can it be to design a decent aesthetically pleasing car that is electric and doesn't look like it's trying to channel some Back to the Future 2 design.

The website ff.com is just as painful as the presentation. I would hope their vehicle UI is not designed by the web designers.

This thing has been a slow motion cluster-you know what since their last botched unveil last year.

The presentation was painful and I almost, I say almost, felt empathy for the CEO trying to deliver his comments in english. Oy...

The car is some Frankenstein, over featured monstrosity that looks like a mating of a Pontiac Aztec and AMC Pacer station wagon - I prefer the AMC Pacer.

The kicker is they appear to have pulled a nice little fraud scheme with the Nevada tax payers! So congratulations on that Nevada!

Someone shoot this dog before it has a chance to get up again...

While more competition is beneficial but FF is offering a promise while Tesla has delivered everything short of the Model 3 I'll be getting unless something better comes along.

Please stop claiming EV is saving the planet. These cars are significantly more environmentally detrimental due to mining resources for the batteries alone and currently something like 25% of total global carbon emissions comes from producing electricity today. EV could be a solution in the future, but today they are only a burden on an aging energy grid that is too slow to change to renewable non-polluting sources of energy. EV today is for pretentious ass-hats that don't have a clue about the planet while thinking their $100k car is saving it.
Obviously you don't quite get it, ultimately we WILL run out of fossil fuels, many of the items that need to be mined for the batteries can be recycled very successfully now. Additionally, we will continually get more efficient at making batteries that use less resources, but it is going to take some time.

As for producing the electricity for the vehicles, the vast majority of charging stations out there get their electricity from renewable sources, usually solar, but some wind and damns as well. Additionally, most people that own houses and purchase electric vehicles also use solar on their homes. Ultimately this means that the demand on the aging energy grid is nowhere near what you think it is.

We do need to see Semi-Trucks, Trains and other larger scale vehicles go all electric and we do need to actually move to cleaner electric sources for our homes and such, but the reality is that electric vehicles consume a relatively low amount of electricity per mile and really are a lot cleaner than you seem to think.

Even if you power your EV on electricity generated 100% by coal, it's still more efficient to have one big turbine powering thousands of cars than have thousands of mini-turbines on the road. These things work better at scale. Plus electricity generation tends to happen outside of cities so it's not getting into your lungs.

Coal fired car in two years!

Not sure whether the best way to capture the speed of a vehicle with a camera is via close-up of the back or from the side while moving along with the vehicle...
