has been going on 1.5hrs using a 4g mifi pulling down nearly 10mbps. hope it speeds up once I get home.

...you're on an unlimited data plan on your mifi...;);)

Just kidding, not trying to send this thread off on a tangent...:p

It took an hour to download and install, but my iPad 2 is finally rebooting. :D

Holding off on updating the 4S for a while.

Download available 1pm est; right to the second; 45 minutes to download, installing now (80%)...should be another 10 minutes....so 1.5 hours from download to reboot...estimated. iPad 2

Took just under an hour for the whole process. The download only took appx 10-15 mins

All completed for me in 45 minutes, including upgrading the MBP to 10.8.2 as well.

iPhone now on iOS 6, Safari seems a little snappier, but Maps is....well - different. It looks a lot sparser than before, and the satellite view of where I am (six miles outside of the centre of Nottingham, a large city in England) is just a foggy grey with no detail on it.

Does anyone miss their jailbreak yet? I think I am going to wait to update my phone and just update the iPad 3. I am going on a trip next week and will need my free hotspot jb for my wifi iPad lol.

Still going but apple seem to be getting better at major updates?

Not so slow to download this time round.

Started my iOS 6 download at 1:03 pm eastern from iTunes. Downloaded in 4 minutes, updated on the phone, was done by 1:20. Fastest upgrade ever!

4s and iPad 3 both errored out via OTA. will have to do the update at home via iTunes.

iphone finally hit preparing update.
ipad... still downloading. I know its a slightly bigger download, and I started it 5-10 minutes after the phone, so hopefully the ipad hits preparing update within 10-15 minutes.

My ipad3 in the uk keeps going from inbetween 3-5 hours not my connection either. Might leave my iPhone to do overnight at this rate.

I don't get it. It keeps saying that 5.1 is current. Everyone else here is downloading it or at least tried but didn't have enough space available. Mine won't even do that. Why does it need 3.4gig?

Downloaded fairly quickly. First progress bar took about 20 minutes. Rebooted and the second progress bar is sitting on no progress for a about 15 minutes now. Not good.

a lesson in patience

Patience is definitely a virtue. Every step of my (4S) update took quite a long time. My coworker right next to me finished his update almost 30 mins ago, but I'm still on the reboot (80%-ish completed progress bar).

Keep the faith, all good things come to those who wait.

Did anyone sit on the second progress bar with absolutely no progress for an extended period of time?

I've been at no progress at all for at least 20 minutes. My iPad basically went through the entire process during this time. I am starting to worry a bit.
