I agree that if a woman finds hair on a mans body to be disgusting, then something is seriously wrong. Either she's not ready for man, or there's some really strong cultural brainwash at work that is actually affecting biology.

And in terms of women shaving their parts... well, that's a different issue, because there IS a really strong brainwash going on there. I personally find women in their natural state to be the most attractive. Why wouldn't the opposite gender be the most attractive to us in it's natural form, the way nature intended for us to be attracted?

Thanks Lee!

Nope, still solo though I don't mind it really at the moment

As long as it doesn't bother you. And it's good that you're not one of those guys who has to be dating somebody all the time. Shows that you're stable, and have a good head on your shoulders.

Some lady is gonna come along and snatch you up though. ;)

Why is that the case? Can't it just be a personal preference?

Are you saying I've been having nothing but lesbian sex all these years?

HOT.

Someone forget to tell you. ;)

... I have some Mediterranean in me it seems so I am not looking towards the future. I am 31 and starting to sprout in places I would rather not....

What the hell is with that. Every year I seem to get hairier. I'm Scottish and I fear that by 60 I'll look like Chewbacca or the wolfman.

Funny thing, a few weeks ago I was talking with some colleagues about the Twilight series and I made the remark that werewolves were more interesting as a mythical character. One of the girls turned, looked at me for a moment and said "of course, you would say that."

I wish I knew. I really do... I have a full head of hair and not worried about going bald, so I can't say that the hair is being sucked into my scalp and finding it's way out my ears or my back... I'm afraid I will get to a point that a razor is just not going to cut it (so to speak) and I will have to upgrade to a hedge trimmer...

I was thinking of getting one of these:

Well I am not a woman, but I am gay. ;)

This shave all hair off and grown up men as smooth as a baby's bottom thing is ridiculous.

If it is that unruly give it a trim… but for god's sake don't shave it all off.

;)

Amen there!

But then it depends on the reason for the shaving of body hair. I know some do it to prevent ingrown hairs. Some are bodybuilders that do it to show off definition. Even leekohler fits in there too....

By the time I was in high school I had pretty much a full frontal of chest hair. Back then, the couple girlfriends I had didn't mind. It wasn't till I came out a couple years after high school that my chest hair and then my back hair became an issue. For the Gay community at the time for us our early twenties - expected the smooth bodies. So I shaved it all off; just to be accepted.

I look back now and lament that I was just doing it to be accepted. And hate it when I meet guys that do it today - whether Straight or Gay.

To try to bring it back more to op's question. A gal I worked with dated a guy that shaved his chest and arms. She only found out that he did the shaving/wax/laser thing when he let his "work" slip a bit. Prickly hairs! LOL For her, it was a total turn off with the prickly hairs. And at least according to her, his body hair - or lack there of - would not have been an issue. She even told him as such. I had met the guy, and my take he was trying to be a metrosexual after her comments.

Guess as a Gay guy I share her feelings. I have no preference on body hair. But if I am to feel stubble, would rather it be on the face. :) LOL

Now, back hair on the other hand...

These are fighting words there for me. ROFL

I as you can probably tell think that we should just let ourselves go as God created us for the most part. Nothing wrong IMO with arkitect's comment about keeping it groomed. Brings to mind a scene from one of the Scary Movie franchise flicks. ROFL

I don't have much chest hair but I have noticed it getting thicker over the years(I'm 27). I think it is slowly migrating to my chest from head...

I have shaved other parts though. Makes things more sensitive... ;)

A friend shaved his a$$ once(drunk), turned out to be a big mistake!!!

lol it seems there's more gay people than straight people on these boards. not that there's anything wrong with that but i will say it sure seems like it's the case lol

in fact, itd be interesting to have that as a poll as im curious now

LOL

Don't think so. But as you can tell body hair seems to be a major issue for Gay men. :(

Maybe I also need to add that some grooming is in order at times. Ear hair as an example!

Some straight men, too. I've been shaving under my arms for about 20 years, and mowing down...other...um, places, for nearly as long. It just feels cleaner to me.

For some reason, my chest hair just doesn't seem to bother me as much. Maybe coz there's less of it *shrug*

I prefer only moderate amounts of chest hair to back hair but I had a colleague once who was so hairy that long dark tufts of it stuck out from the wrists of his shirts, continuing onto the backs of his hands.

Anyway, for me, chest hair is not a deal-breaker. ;)

I am one of those guys that don't have much in the underarm department. Wish I did, i find it sexy on guys.

I do some mowing here as well in the other places. LOL

My love seems to be fond of it (not so much the back hair, but it is tolerated :D ), and we both agree its nicer to keep it trimmed.

Personally, I would feel it to be too much effort to try and keep my chest hair shaved all the time.

I have some Mediterranean in me it seems so I am not looking towards the future.

Well you're in luck, because lots of the guys who have posted in this thread would love some Mediterranean in them. ;)

Personally, I don't think I'd be able to keep up shaving my body all the time. There'd be stubble, 5 o'clock shadow, etc etc. I wouldn't be able to keep up.

Also, if you shave your chest, it would be weird if you have a happy trail leading down to your groin, and your groin is all hairy. You'd have to either shave your entire body (chest + groin), or not at all.

One of my points... if you are going to do it... then keep it up... if only to protect the illusion. LOL

From a Gay guy perspective, have met a few with both natural and shaved happy trails. When it comes to the groin area from chats with both guys and gals - the opinion is that it should be at least trimmed in some way.

Well to your first point. I'm sure they would, but not from me, sorry guys...

I don't shave my body, the hair to skin proportion is fine right now and besides I do agree that I would have to do the entire body as it would look funny, I would probably have to fill my bath tub with Nair and submerse myself from the neck down. I don't have that kind of money to go through that many razor blades..

Let me see if I get this straight. You do whatever you like but a woman had also better do what you like? Yeah, that sounds real respectful indeed.

I think most of what I think has already been covered by Lee and Jessica. I can't be arsed with yet another obnoxious "man" thread. I will say however that the hairiest man I had been with was also the biggest ******, so if that [flawed theory] is the measure of a man, no thanks.

A hairy chest was never a deal breaker for me when I was dating, but I PREFER smooth and hairless chests/backs/asses.

Seems as if I have offended someone. I forgot we live in an age where we must all be so politically correct.

I think this has more to do with your original post – you posed the forum a fair question, but you then followed it with an aggressive 'I don't give two s**ts' what women think before anyone could answer you.

Some people could find that tone rather offensive.

My two c**ts.

That's the problem with spoken communication that's actually written, it's difficult to convey the correct tone or expression, and that's why smilies where invented :)  :p

As for hairy chest, sometimes it's considered attractive for women, but when shown on tv it appears to be dirty and ape-like so most actors have it shaved.

Clever end quote, btw, being on the subject of shaving :D
