In your video that you are using force to slide the cover back and forth triggering the sleep wake is closer to an inch not a mm. Im just glad I'm smarter than the cover. I know that something will open that doesn't have a closing mechanism. I just try to be smarter than the device, i turned off the smart function when i use to toss my cases in a bag because i was smart enough to know it would open. I recalled back in my college days my school books would open in my back pack then unless i wrapped a belt around them to keep them closed. No wonder most of you need a forum to make decisions for you. However there are some here that are cool. Shill what a silly word for grown ups

So what you're saying is that there is a clear downside to the case, but the user is dumb for using it as intended and its not the case's fault?

I clearly panned out at the end so you can see how much the case was shifted, relative to the size of the case. If the case shifts max 2mm, it triggers the smart cover function. 2mm is very little, and is not an inch. I'm glad to hear you fixed the problem by disabling the function.

only disabled it when lose in a bag otherwise works great but i didn't slide the cover that way when i used it normally. But hey its cool its pick on tabby time. i can handle it gotta be a vic in every thread. ;)

I bought the Chinao wheat case based on recommendations on this thread, but ended up returning it. The case itself is not badly designed, even if the leather is a bit on the low-end side. It's probably a bit too expensive for $50.

The big issue for me, however, is that the smart cover functionality wasn't useable for me. It constantly turned my iPad on and off, even if the top was just the slightest bit misaligned (~1-2mm). This meant that carrying around the iPad with this case in a messanger bag or just handling it normally would not work with the smart cover functionality. I know this can happen with other cases, but happens very easily with this case, as the bind (or lack of) allows the top cover to move side to side quite easily.

I bought mine from the kev guy, and he sent me a second unit to try out with the same results. I returned mine, although he claimed I'm the only one ever to have complained about this. Otherwise the case is fine. I made a YouTube video of the issue at hand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n63KldxK8qQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player

And fwiw, I agree. it's extremely annoying to have so many shills --like the one above-- on this forum. It's a disservice.

My case does exactly the same thing. When I close the lid, the magnets do not line up against the corners either.

Not at all what i said, the case does not advertise that it had or has a closure mechanism so therefore one would not be surprised that a case would open when thrown are placed in a bag. My official Apple pink smart cover did the same thing unless i put t in my muzetto sleeve. Just facts i could also slide it to trigger the sleep wake feature in the manner in which that youtube video showed i just tried it i don't have a youtube acct so i can't post it but take any case that does not have a method to keep it shut and you will find that it will trigger the sleep wake i love the wheat case but yes it does have its moments i have several cases and they all have good and bad points and different uses. I have the yoobao magic case for iPad 2 coming that has a latch but i don't have high expectations when it comes to low priced cases in a few months it won't matter when the iPad 3 comes out then it will start all over again.

I don't know who you purchased your case from but that style does not have corner magnets NONE of CHINAO cases have any form of magnetic closure. Only the one small magnet to activate the sleep wake function which is just above the volume rocker.

My case initially lined up perfectly however I now find that I need to move the corners so that they line up straight.

yes and you also stated that you have a defective case so yes i can imagine that you are having issues. i was trying to help you get in contact with someone that could help you get a replacement but you turned down the offer. if you contact my seller send him pictures he can arrange a replacement, that simple i emailed him after i read your post, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. thats why i had asked who you purchased from he wanted to know so he could have CHINAO contact that seller and see why they didn't replace, thats all

7 weeks on and this is my case now - the corners clearly don't line up, the design on the inside flap of the case leaves an annoying imprint on the screen of my iPad and I have had to turn off the sleep/awake feature because the front cover kept lifting in my handbag.

Will be back to attach pictures...

you would be rich and famous if that was a image of Jesus or Mary on it. My smart cover leaves imprints of its inside pattern as do my other cases pretty normal with lint and dust sticking to the oil residue from ones skin. Thats how they get finger prints from crime scenes. Vacuum the inside of your case once in a wile it helps. Why not just get the case replaced if you only had 7 weeks?

Thanks for the tip on vacuumning, I will keep it in mind. I contacted the seller I purchased it from on Ebay AU and they advised me that it was not defective, that they put their iPad face down after it had been in the 'stand position' and it would go back. An unsatisfactory answer in my opinion. Considering I had already left them feedback, I guess they consider the issue closed. Needless to say I am less than impressed.

too bad sounds like you bought from a crappy seller, i had a chinao case for my iPad 1 and the seller replaced it 5 months later due to stitch coming loose. i have the wheat case now just love it. But the Yoobao Magic is my main case now.

I guess I assumed purchasing through Ebay would be a good option but the format does tend to me there is usually little to none after sales service. I am now on the search for another case - it is quite difficult to find iPad cases that don't cover the bezel and the other features I am looking for...

I almost bought the wheat colour before I bought the black one.
