So i received the CHINAO Apple iPad 2 Vaja Style Premium Leather - Dark Orange color. Bought it for a total of $47 including shipping.
I chose this because of the bezel is fully uncovered, and most importantly there is a open rectangle for sound to flow out unobstructed.

Pleased with the case so far. Here are some of the pics. Unlike what the video review says on that k... website, the magnet is not strong to hold on to the bezel or the leather at all. you have to hold it right so that gravity doesn't take over while holding it at certain angles. The leather is good quality and the whole unit in general is good quality so far. there was a brown pen like stain in the inside part of the case but not something that bothers me to be honest. the inside layer is not cut to perfection but you can't really expect the world for $47 unless its an official Apple product where they pay so much attention to the quality of the product.

Here are some pics.

iPad fits in well but i had an issue where the right top doesn't really snap in due to the inside layer overlapping the corner a bit. I also have a back protection on the iPad which i didn't want to take out.

The back is nice, positions well with the camera, sound holes and pin at the bottom.

On the viewing position like Smart cover.

Inside layer isn't really cut out well. You can see it trying to creep out on the bottom of the hole

Hold it around the fold and you see that the magnet has no hold whatsoever.

Hold it well above the fold and the flap sticks in.

I have that same case as well and just to let you know it does not have magnetic closure and i didn't see where it states that it does, just the smart feature thus the reason it does not stay closed when holding it upside down. Also i had to remove my back skin since the case is a tight fit and the added thickness as little as it was did cause it not to fit just right. But i do agree for $47 its not like an apple product where you pay soooooo much for their attention to detail.

Yup, for the price it's a good case IMO.
The review video on the website said the flap won't fall out if I'm not mistaken.... They never claimed anything like the magnet on their product page.
Also forgot to mention in the earlier post... The dude who sold it has pretty good customer service and awesome shipping timing too. Came a lot earlier than expected.

You know i just watched the review again and he does says magnetic closure then says that it doesn't close tike the smart cover, so i can see where it may throw one off. As for the seller i have bought from him since the iPad 1 days and yes excelent service and great prices. Its a very personal experience, very rare in todays online shopping. Waterfield is another. Its a shame that he gets no love on Macrumors but it is what is is. I try to help him out but seem to get banned for it. You would think that the people at macrumors would welcome good honest sellers.

I bought the Chinao Vaja style case and am quite disappointed by it. The fold on the front has become quite loose so the cover no longer sits flat on the iPad.

The magnets as well no longer sit square on the front either. I noticed that when I put the cover in my handbag, the 'smart cover' keeps opening and shutting slightly depending on how I hold my bag. In addition, the 'flower' design on the inside of the cover leaves an imprint mark on my screen protector, as does the crease in the cover for the stand.

I bought mine from Ebay AU for AU$55.00 including shipping but will now have to buy another cover. I have been looking at the SGP Argos but the price is a turn off ($110) considering I have already spent $55.00. I contacted the seller who claims the case is not defective.

The case actually meets all of my requirements, leather, not covering the bezel and a stand but it just doesn't hold up as a great case for me. I have had it for 2 weeks.

What seller did you buy from? because the seller i as well as others in here buy from stands behind his products. So you should be careful and state who you purchased from since you could could give a great seller a bad name by mistaking identity.
Was it this seller?
http://myworld.ebay.com/wya229rachel/?_trksid=p4340.l2559 then this is not the seller that has very high ratings in this forum but can't be named how funny is that?

I think my post was quite clear when I stated that I purchased from Ebay AU; in addition I don't need to specify who I bought the item from. I also didn't make any reference to that particular seller who can't be named here either.

I may be a newbie but I thought this was a forum for exchanging ideas and comments related to the iPad, not to attack others or promote certain items for personal gains. I simply posted my review of the case.

it is clear tabitha has an agenda - ignore her...

Actually, I don't think Tabitha has any agenda, other than giving really great advice about cases and a Seller that many people on this forum have had a great customer experience with. I do think she was merely trying to point out that Vanessa's case originated from a different source. If you look at her other posts on this forum, you will see that many people value her experience.

If that is the case, then why are most of her posts about yoobao and chinao cases? The link in her signature takes you to a page where you can buy products from the companies mentioned, plus she gets pretty defensive over anything said against chinao and yoobao cases.. Just saying

I'm no detective but I would say it is pretty clear they are the seller or affiliated in some way with them. Academic really though for me as I have had nothing but a great experience with a couple of sales from them.

I'll weigh in here once more. Yes I believe she pushes a certain seller's products here on the forum....but...... I have purchased items from the seller in her link and have to say that customer service is excellent with that seller. I purchased 2 cases from him. I liked and kept one, and did not like the other, which I returned for a quick refund. Very professional person to deal with. I would purchase from him again if I wanted a Yoobao or Chinao case.
The only thing I have a problem with is her remark stating that I must be affiliated with the seller of the Khomo cases, when I am certainly not, and when it is very clear that she "may" be affiliated with "her seller".

I guess everyone is entitled to steer business toward someone they received great service from, but she opened the door for criticism when she accused me of being a shill.

Khomo iPad 2 dual case
Here is the link to Amazon which shows pictures. I am not a seller of anything, but just like this case slot.

I have now been using the case for a few days and the magnetic on/off feature works 100% of the time, and the magnetic from of thecae does stay shut even if you turn it upside down.

Haven't found a downside to this case yet, and can't believe it sells for under $20.

I think I am going to order another one befor they disappear or before the price goes back up. I seriously looked at the apple smart case combined with a thin snap on cover for the back, but I didn't want to spend $70 for the combination.

One would make the same asumption just look up your threads. While others claim the cases is not as good as you say. You get defensive as well.

if you purchased most of your cases from a seller that sells only brand x and brand y and you were giving reviews and talking about your purchases then i would assume that they would be about brand x and y. I post a lot about waterfield as well for the same reason. YOU CANT BEAT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE. thats important to me maybe not to all.

Lets be honest here...I never said anything about your affiliation to kev i kev *******.com until you made a comment about me because I stated that my case worked 100% of the time. You stated that I am probably affiliated with the seller.

I assumed you were affiliated with kev i kev*******.com, as others do, but I kept it to myself until you opened your mouth with false accusations toward me. I could care less if you are affiliated with Kevikkev.com. Doesn't matter to me at all, but you do Kevin Freiss a disservice by coming onto this forum and starting arguments with forum members, and accusing them of being shills, when in fact, you are the shill. What you are doing may actually be the exact reason a forum member may choose not to buy a Chinao or Yoobao case from Kevikkev...You ever think of that?

Certainly didn't seem like you were trying to exchange ideas. How did your post help me or anyone else?

Everyone has wonderful things to say on that particular seller but as others have pointed out, the tone of your posts actually tarnishes any desire I have to purchase further products of either brand. Your veiled aggression actually harms that seller.

I don't understand why my review or anyone else's has anything to do with a particular seller when it is purely a reflection on the brands Chinao and Yoobao.

I'm sorry i was only trying to help you replace your $55 loss but if your happy with the case then my bad. CHINAO has a manufactures warranty but your seller isn't honering it, so its cool I'm done sorry for upsetting you.

I bought the Chinao wheat case based on recommendations on this thread, but ended up returning it. The case itself is not badly designed, even if the leather is a bit on the low-end side. It's probably a bit too expensive for $50.

The big issue for me, however, is that the smart cover functionality wasn't useable for me. It constantly turned my iPad on and off, even if the top was just the slightest bit misaligned (~1-2mm). This meant that carrying around the iPad with this case in a messanger bag or just handling it normally would not work with the smart cover functionality. I know this can happen with other cases, but happens very easily with this case, as the bind (or lack of) allows the top cover to move side to side quite easily.

I bought mine from the kev guy, and he sent me a second unit to try out with the same results. I returned mine, although he claimed I'm the only one ever to have complained about this. Otherwise the case is fine. I made a YouTube video of the issue at hand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n63KldxK8qQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player

And fwiw, I agree. it's extremely annoying to have so many shills --like the one above-- on this forum. It's a disservice.

In your video that you are using force to slide the cover back and forth triggering the sleep wake is closer to an inch not a mm. Im just glad I'm smarter than the cover. I know that something will open that doesn't have a closing mechanism. I just try to be smarter than the device, i turned off the smart function when i use to toss my cases in a bag because i was smart enough to know it would open. I recalled back in my college days my school books would open in my back pack then unless i wrapped a belt around them to keep them closed. No wonder most of you need a forum to make decisions for you. However there are some here that are cool. Shill what a silly word for grown ups
