If what you say is valid, that's a huge tip! I'll check that out, thanks :)

In october I bought and activated my Max at the Apple shop in Beijing and was told about AC+ only valid for China, so I dismissed that.

Back in Germany 2 weeks later I called the Apple Support to ask about buying AC+ for this chinese Max. It took some minutes for them to figure out what I wanted. The phone was checked remotely and it was found ok. Then they escalated the question to a senior employee who told me that I could buy 2 years AC+ with worldwide coverage for my Max.

Only caveat: Apple can not garantee that I get an replacement iPhone instantly if mine breaks somewhere around the world. They have to bring in a chinese Max and that may take 2-4 days. But they would offer me a normal Max for use in the meantime.

I bought AC+ and hope I will never need it. But if ...

Revenue records as in most money ever from those countries.

Post what you're talking about in Europe.
You don't know exactly what records Apple set in Europe, nobody knows because Apple didn't specify anything concrete.
But it's funny how with all these records their market share(in their best quarter of the year) still dropped by 5% which is even more than Samsung's in the same period.
It's funny how supposed records in Germany, Italy, Spain(three of the largest EU countries with Germany being the biggest in terms of overall market) were not enough to offset the obvious decline in sales.
These facts do show how meaningless and exaggerated these supposed records really are. PR at it's best.

Germany, Italy, Spain, and Netherlands set revenue records. They can't "exaggerate" anything because public companies can't lie. I take it at face value. They set revenue records in those countries, meaning more dollars were spent on Apple stuff than ever before. That doesn't mean the most units were sold or the most of any single product, but records nonetheless.

Market share data is essentially made up extrapolation and is just a best guess, varying by on who you ask.

We've also been over countless times that Apple isn't going for market share.

We've also gone over the iPhone dominating the luxury phone market and market share being driven by cheap, sub $200 phones which Apple doesn't sell.

Or they can while they don’t get caught. Plenty of companies twist their numbers around such that it is a fact at a different perceived value.
No, they can’t. It’s so risky, no good company would do it and Apple is arguably the best company in the world.

If they say they hit revenue records in certain countries, they did.

You have no evidence to the contrary. If you do, post it. Stop speculating and speaking in generalities that don’t apply to this situation.

You’re saying it’s risky implying that it is possible. But there are “truths” and there are truths. I think the problem here is you see them both the same.

I can neither confirm nor deny I have evidence to the contrary. If I had it, I can’t share it with you, and if I didn’t, I still cant share it with you. What I can say is I would never take things at face value especially when it comes to public press releases.

You are speculating and stirring up untruths, which is counterproductive. You know nothing the market doesn’t know, because the market knows everything.

Apple would have posted better numbers if they were lying. They pre-announced, which is about the worst thing that can happen in an earnings report besides missing.

Well a company can say that a 5% revenue increase is a record for them. It wouldn't be a lie.
My point stands.
Companies with $266N in revenue don’t post 50% increases. A 5% revenue increase for Apple would be over $13B and larger than most entire companies.

I never said they posted such increases.
But I don't see how a 5% better revenue in Germany for example could be considered a record.

Yeah but a few markets in EU doesn't equal the entire World. So we are not talking about the "entire Apple".

But hey it's obvious you won't admit that Apple's statement regarding supposed records they set in certain EU countries is ambiguous and in the end meaningless. I looks like Apple's PR and Mk language works incredibly well with fans like you.

Record revenue in a country is just that. Record revenue.

You decide if it matters, but they aren’t lying and what they said isn’t ambiguous.

It depends how you convince yourself which side of the fence you want to look from. You can make both sides seem like truths here hence why there are speculations and analysts. “What could those numbers mean” is usually what people ask about instead of taking it at face value

Although not surprising, what we have learned from you today is that you have a) never been involved in financial politics in companies, b) you cannot distinguish between partial truths, and c) you are the target audience for town hall / all hand meetings

You would be wrong. You have offered zero substance other than criticizing my take on AAPL. I also haven't made my private thoughts known, only that I take what Apple says about revenue at face value. We aren't talking about what I think the numbers mean, just that the numbers are the numbers...not made up.
