I’ve got a 13 for personal and a 16 for work. Just wait. Please don’t do something crazy and just hold the line (and your wallet)
Why!? If you have the money and fancy an upgrade, what is it to you? It is a pretty big upgrade from a 13 in my experience.

The Chinese are not all about copying. Check out this 1”+ sensor, the pro results and the really cool optional kit that makes it operate as a camera. I’m seriously considering this but some of the us carrier support is a little iffy ……. https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/...on-xiaomi-14-ultra-review-additional-features
Not that spectacular, 1" and much larger sensors have existed for ages. But guess what, larger sensors also need larger lenses, and larger lenses are heavier than smaller lenses. With a phone, it is a game of compromises. But better the camera you have with you.

The delta between useful features is minuscule when comparing a 13 pro max and the new 16pm. It’s not a pretty big upgrade Apple is trying to condition people to accept less and pay more. I’d wait another year and see what’s up. Replace the 13 battery and go forth. Nothing groundbreaking has been announced since the 11/12

Cut the conspiracy theories. Apple isn’t conditioning anyone.

I upgrade every year. I’m not being told I should upgrade. I want to. I like having the best and new.

I do not care about how apple uses the same design or apple intelligence has a slower roll out.

"You like having the best _apple_ phone." I fixed that for you.

Not surprised with others copying the features. Will not even be surprised if Samsung does the same in the near future.

Samsung had an extra side button on the s8, 7 years ago. And you could customize the function. I'm surprised Samsung has a time machine.

Yeah, because Apple invented the camera button. It's not like there have been countless smartphones with camera buttons already… oh, wait.

I will agree on some of the other stuff mentioned, though.

Why don't you show one other product that has the kind of button with the same functionality that Apple has introduced?

A few Sony phones come to mind. My dad had one with the exact same functionality.
Don’t you think that is like the action button in functionality opposed to what has been introduced now? I had those as well, this is very different.

The one my dad had functioned the exact same, so yeah, it is the same functionality.

But if you want to live in a dream bubble where Apple never copies and invents everything, that's fine by me. I will stop bursting your bubble then.

Because I forgot the model name. He passed away relatively recently, so my mind isn't like “oh, the name of his phone is more important than himself”. I'll look at it next time I visit my mum.
Sure, sorry to hear. I'd be curious as I've never seen or heard about it; camera button yes, but a physical button that controls the camera settings as well like the now introduced camera control button/slider which is like a wheel you get on a Nikon or Fuji camera I've never seen before on a phone. Unless it was an add-on.

lmao i was waiting for those type of comments. "Coal fired CPU" when some tests showed that Dimensity 9400 was using basically the same amount of power while phone was colder to touch compared to A18 Pro but that's not what I'm talking about!

What I meant is that Apple could easily put larger batteries in regular Pro iPhone and deliver the same battery life like the Pro Max iPhone but they won't because they want more money and they know people want the best battery life so they'll spend more cash for a more expensive phone.

I really don't understand why some of y'all are "hurt" and quick to comment about "coal fired CPUs" or the difference in battery life between iPhones and Androids when that's not what I'm talking about lol I'm not even android user, I just said that I wish apple put bigger batteries in their phones as the technology is already there.

That doesn't even apply just to Apple, this also applies to other brands like Samsung that puts 5000 mah battery in Ultra phones.
Your point is valid, however Apple can't physically fit a bigger battery in the Pro, nor a proper vapour chamber, mainly due to magsafe, they had to increase the phone slightly, just to get the 5 x tetra prism lens in.....so it's not as straight forward as you may think

Not sure what further to say. It’s in the right location. It works. Saves an extra click on the screen. And super easy to use the functions as it’s like a function wheel like I used to have on my Nikon and Fuji cameras but without it actually being a wheel. I love how it give like a haptic feedback at for example the zoom level preset that matches the lense capabilities.
I don't think it's as bad as the YouTubers make out, however, the position of the button isn't in the right position, it's a compromise between using it vertically and horizontally....however, as you've pointed out, it's great to snap a quick photo.

I had a 13 Pro, before upgrading to a 15 Pro, the upgrades were substantial, especially in materials used, weight and Camera capability, not to mention always on display, Dynamic Island, action button and screen brightness doubling!
The 16 pro is slightly better than the 15 Pro, so the difference will be even bigger
