Does being on the Find My network allow these third-party products to ping iPhones the same way the AirTags do?
I didn’t think AirTag can ping iPhone for reverse locating? Or do you mean the anti-stalking feature? They do

So Apple didn’t include an attachment point to help Belkin sell you A $15 accessory?Agree that they (this other company) aren’t wrong, but I don’t believe that it’s an oversight on Apple’s part. Accessories for the AirTags creates one more stream of revenue for them. Brands like Belkin are selling holders for $15 or so. Just a matter of time before we see even cheaper options available on Amazon. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some for as low as $3-$5.
Frankly, if this is all that Chipolo can come up with to differentiate their upcoming product from AirTags, then I suspect their product is at risk of being DOA.
Yes, you design barbarian! What are you thinking? A hole for a ring would have besmirched the perfectly smooth, round homage to the Apple Home World, where timeless beauty and simplicity, like a ripple in a still pond, will go on forever, enriching our meager lives just for the mere $60 expenditure. How could you refute the artist so? Shame on you. /sWould it have killed them to put a simple loop on it? It cost $29 just to connect it to something? That's ridiculous.
It’s no oversight. Just like it’s no oversight it has a rounded back so you can’t easily tape it to something, and rounded sides so it’ll fall out of any bag or pocket as soon as it gets the chance. Just like you can’t rest a caseless iPhone or iPad on a table without it feeling like you’re damaging the camera. Apple know what they’re doing.I mean they’re not wrong. Very silly over sight
You don't think Amazon will be full of $5 AirTag "accessories" very soon? This was my first thought. Airtags cost $60 not $30 because of the accessories.
So for $5 you can have a no name accessory in the style and color you want for a total of $34, but have an apple device with more features for the same price. This design was leaked 2 years ago and Apple tends to know their customers much better than the armchair experts on this forum.they're not wrong though. you can be a massive apple fanboy and you still couldn't defend this in a right mindset.
Unfortunately the spot model loses this feature as well as out of range alerts.I don’t think airtag can but chipolo can
Can the new Chipolo ONE Spot do this though? Just been checking out their website and they look really good, better than AirTag it seems, but it doesn’t give any details on functionality for the new Find My compatible model.I don’t think airtag can but chipolo can
Only works wirh the previous modelsCan the new Chipolo ONE Spot do this though? Just been checking out their website and they look really good, better than AirTag it seems, but it doesn’t give any details on functionality for the new Find My compatible model.
Funny enough, it used to be on 14.4.x. AirTags wasn’t, but AirTag was. I agree though, a weird thing to miss!Did you notice your auto correct for air tags. I am surprised Apple didn’t put the AirTag word in its dictionary and I am on iOS 14.5.
As much as they are smart in creating new gadgets, they are also smarter in ways to increase sale and profit.Would it have killed them to put a simple loop on it? It cost $29 just to connect it to something? That's ridiculous.
Do you have a link to a source for this info?Only works wirh the previous models
No double click for phone finding on spot model.
Shame as I found it a great feature along with out of range alerts on older model. They’ve quite basic functionality really and no precise location feature either
