Yeah I see this more as a selling point. I don’t prefer the hole feels less secure to me as someone who is rough with their keys. I don’t know if I’d call this a jab. That is a fair critique of airtags. Apple is so confident that they are making money off of selling you a hole.
I disagree. I think it will make them more sturdy. Some of the tiles have a metal hole but from what I’ve seen the chipolo ones are plastic. Plus I like the accessories part of it in general.Lack of an AirTags accessory hole was a seriously bad design AND marketing choice.
they're not wrong though. you can be a massive apple fanboy and you still couldn't defend this in a right mindset.
That would be great.
Automation possibilities like:
Unfortunately, AirTag is probably a passive device. It's probably transmitting only periodically, or when Find My app is launched (I read that the initial connection may take as much as 30 seconds).
- Bring AirTag into the room that has HomePod mini (ultra wideband). Between 15 minutes after sunset and bedtime, turn on the room light.
- At night, AirTag in your pocket at certain distance and direction from the HomePod mini activates the backyard light.
- Accidentally locked the door with AirTag inside the house. Turn on the entrance light as a reminder.
And make it that much bigger? No thanks.Could add a hole and also put it into another cost accessory if desired. At least add the hole for an option
This is a joke, right?Apple sure can design a hole in AirTag, but it cannot force the CR2032 batteries to all have a hole at the same location. Among all of these people commenting here, how surprising none understand such a simple fact!
AFAIK battery is replaceable, lasts 2 years, twice as long as AirTag.This right here! I don't need something to tell me my keys are in my house. I need to know where in my house. Chipolo have been so quiet about actual features.
Also, it looks like it's not battery replaceable. How long will it last before you have to bin it?
There's no point having a tracker if you cannot precision find your item in your house.Personally, I couldn’t care less about U1 because my iPhones don’t have the U1 capability.
You don’t say! Tile has saved me numerous hours looking for my car keys. There's no point having a tracker if you cannot precision find your item in your house.
If you are asking about Tile, yes it can. But you have to pay a subscription fee for that service, and only those who have the Tile app installed can help you track your lost item. But it can also leverage the Android phones if they have the Tile app installed, whereas the Air Tag can provide location tracking via nearby iPhones only.can it be located by other people’s iphones when in lost mode like airtags can?
There is, as they can all play a loud sound to guide you to it.There's no point having a tracker if you cannot precision find your item in your house.
That is completely useless if you aren't in the room, or if the item speaker is covered. There is, as they can all play a loud sound to guide you to it.
Apple touts themselves as being so environment friendly, hypocrites.
Is it so hard to add a small hole.
$$$...I get it.
