THE PACIFIC BLUE SIDE, WITH CHRIS X!

The only 15 second commercial on TV. Why only 15 seconds? Because the man too scared to give me a half minute!

I enjoyed Chris Rock's comedy and acting over the years, and I'm sure Verizon paid him well to be their pitch man.

I mean, you could pay me to be VZW's pitch man. Heck, I would do it for a couple free phones...

The fact that they're advertising "the speed" of mp3 and video downloads in the age of steaming. Nobody will fall for this, even 80 year Olds.

I think it's called "Chicago Style" - all words are capitalised. Personally, I absolutely hate it - it's a nightmare for me to read in my head. It would be so much better if it was just sentence case.
[…]
English writing purists brand the style as an abomination, it makes no "true" grammatical sense at all.
Not every word is capitalized. It’s a title! I’m no expert but don’t most novels, films, games, and articles use this form of capitalization?
  • The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
  • Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

I just don’t see the issue. Are from some place where all titles are fully all-caps? Or in sentence form? Are you very young and don’t use capitalization at all?

The Telcos have already spent almost 2 Trillion on 5G. Get used to it, it is coming!

empty promises, empty promises, everywhere.
telco investments will cover the natural growth.
none of the 'unique and novel' 5G use cases stood the test of reality so far.
it's mostly eMBB (and i'm not entirely sure of the 'enhanced' part) and FWA.

mmWave is a set of 5G frequencies that promise ultra-fast speeds at short distances, making it best suited for dense urban areas. By comparison, sub-6GHz 5G is generally slower than mmWave, but the signals travel further, better serving suburban and rural areas. In most countries that offer 5G, sub-6GHz networks are more common.

Life in cities is faster paced than outside ...
5G is more technology push than customer pull. Happy with my SE.

You're totally right - what you listed, they're all titles. However, what we have here are headlines, a subtle but important difference.

It's obviously not going to be consistent across all news outlets, but it's definitely the "proper" way of doing things. I've carried out a load of UI/UX research in this area, it's not just generally "correct" to use sentence case where possible, but it also causes fewer issues for folks with dyslexia.

ok, i'm a bit concerned about how much of an emphasis there is on iphone AND verizon. i don't have verizon, and don't see having it ever in any of the futures. this ad makes me feel, like my iphone experience will be less because of this.

Emphasis added. The examples are interesting though, it’s “sentence-case” but with very inconsistent punctuation.(Sometimes ending in a period, sometimes left hanging.) I didn’t know the dyslexic had trouble with “title-case”. It’s unfortunate but it is good to know how they could be helped.

This is pretty standard for carrier commercials in many countries, I assume. I see them in Canada and they aren’t Verizon ads.

Im curious if and by how much have storage speeds increased, I would guess in order for a 5G download to actually get the supposedly typical 1-2Gbps speed as shown in the ad is because storage in the new phones is also improved, like a modern SSD. Hopefully Anandtech does a proper tech review of the new iPhones, is Anandtech still in business?

ok, that makes me feel a bit better, thanks. i don't watch tv, so this is the extent of iphone commercials i've seen. :)
i see a lot of billboards, but they usually look the same and just have a small carrier logo on the bottom somewhere.
