He probably has a mmWave substation in front of his house...
Read an article earlier this week that in the US 5G is available to 1% of the population at this point...

I love this commercial! It has a "Black Panther" / "Coming To America" vibe to it! :D

I am getting the iPhone 12 (5G) Pro Max!

The majority of actions on the iPhone will not give you 5G support. If they did the battery wouldn’t last more than 5 hours. So keep in mind 5G is in its infancy but what you do get is bragging rights 100% of the time

Which is weird cuz I live in the middle of nowhere and my entire area is getting it by January including Verizon’s limited location rollout of 5G internet.

Biggest Issue in Europe is the non-availability of mmWave Frequencies for that fast Internet Access via 5G.

And that Apple has not included the mmWave Antennas on all iPhones
- for those World Travellers -
who could use mmWave in Countries via eSIM, where mmWave is available!

Most likely this way they save Money on those expensive mmWave Chips, what do you think.
And why do some of the Asian Countries with mmWave Availablity - not the US Model?

Seeing Chris Rick with a salt & pepper beard makes me feel old AF, and I'm not even 30.
Well he’s 55 so he’s old enough to be your dad. I saw some interview were he talked about being in the best shape of his life and there was a photo with 6 pack Abs. I don’t have a 6 pack now so I’m holding out hope they will show up once I hit 55. Fingers crossed.

If shilling for Verizon doesn’t embarrass him, being compared to Selena Gomez will...
Where is this negativity around doing commercials coming from? Lots of celebrities do them. This is odd flex but then again it macrumors comment section. Flexing on people is your superpower.

But mmWave can't go through anything can it?
They are a bit vague in the blurb butI belieive it's incapable of going through walls, windows and even leaves.
Combined with being short distance only, it means you'll need to be in a public park near an antenna or you'll need to be in a building with line of sight and an antenna connected to a box inside giving you traditional wifi, to get anything like the fastest speeds
Yes it will probably be good eventually when they've got the infrastructure in place (just like 4G is really good already when they have the infrastucture- which they often haven't.). But otherwise it's just going to just default to 4G but called 5G.

Ultra Wideband coverage is downright laughable in Dallas, Texas. I’ll hold o to my 11 Pro Max a bit longer. No rush for 5G anyway
