Resemblance not that important

I think if Fincher had wanted Bale in the role, that the physical resemblance (minor in my opinion) to Jobs had little to do with it. Good actors will capture the spirit of the character so that by the end of the film you'll see a physical resemblance where before none existed. I never looked at the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman and thought, wow, he reminds me of Truman Capote, until he played the part.

I recently view the trailer of Exodus: Gods and Kings where Bale is the Top actor and it looks like one of the best movie of the year.

Christian Bale is one of my favorite actors and he will do an amazing job by being Steve Jobs on the movie.

It is a shame that he decline to be Batman because he was great

To be fair, we've all had our moments of rage and frustration. The only difference is that they weren't recorded and strewn across the internet for the whole world to hear and have judgement passed on us.

The irony here is that we're talking about this guy playing Jobs who, by all accounts, was equally as volatile all the time. If anything, this edge is a qualification, not a detractor to his resume for this film.

Bale is a great choice.

An actor doesn't need to look identical to the real person. Anyone see Capote?

Taking on this role will ruin his career! He is too good for this silly movie. Nobody cares to see a Steve Jobs movie..

I take it that Bale will drop even more weight than he did when acting in The Mechanic in order to portray Jobs in the latter years.

I was only giving a link haha I personally feel Bale would make a great actor to portray Steve Jobs.

hoping to cast Christian Bale in the lead role due to his undeniable resemblance to the former CEO.

I'll deny the resemblance. Take away the facial hair and there's almost none.

Not that resemblance is important. Great actors make you forget all about that.

Glad to see this making a comeback. Here’s the Steve Jobs Christian Bale photo I made:

Exactly. Then he played a completely different role, and made you forget that he was ever cast as Truman Capote.

With the exception of the facial hair, I don't really see the resemblance. Honestly feel that Noah Wyle was a great fit in the past.

But there is more in acting, and a performance than just looks. Hopefully his known skill will make it an awesome role.

Well, considering Ashton Kutcher was cast almost solely on his resemblance to Jobs, I think I'd rather have an actor that resembles Jobs a little less but can actually act.
But if they wanted to get Josh Gad for Woz again, I'd be fine with that.
