It appears Bale is holding out to land the lead role in the new James Brolin biopic.

I still think Daniel Day-Lewis would be a great on-screen Steve Jobs.

I think the real issue is the choice of Director...

I actually laughed out loud here. Bravo!

Not that Rogen is a bad actor, but he's more known for his role in comedies. He wasn't bad in 50/50, but he isn't going to be winning an Oscar anytime soon.

Lol!
I agree with you 100%. He's not a horrible actor, but clearly he and Bale are in two completely different classes as far as acting ability.

Any movie that tries to condense the entire life of Jobs into 90 minutes is also bound to be a failure. There's no way they can show every important event from his life.

That's why they aren't trying to do that.

From what I've read... they are doing the 30 minutes prior to three of Apple's biggest product announcements.

They are NOT making a movie version of the entire Isaacson biography.

No Name

Using a big star for this feels weird. I think they should go no name actor for this one. Just my 2c.

Yeah... yeah I could see this. Of course DDL could play a real-life version of Fat Albert and he would win an oscar.

The movie is going to bomb. Steve was a great man, but subject matter is boring. Even more boring than Apple events now.

Any movie which bases life of JObes in 2 moments ONLY and not important moments in his entire life is bound to be a failure

Disagree. There is way to much story to fit into a single movie. Focusing on 3 key moments would be incredibly powerful.

The amount of work and preparation required to film 3x30 minute continuous takes, which is how I interpreted Boyle's planned structure, for a perfectionist like Bale, would be daunting. I bet he decided he couldn't let go enough to hack it.

Anyone else find the premise of the movie (with the 3 scenes of product launches) totally and completely uninteresting?

Don't confuse structure with premise. We may know the structure. We don't know the premise. Danny Boyle is not one to bore his audiences.
