DOES IT BEND???

The internal software on these prototypes always looks like an android device.

If this guy is smart he will not transact via PayPal. And if he does, he better cash out his money before shipping the device. he better video all packaging and him bringing it to the post office. He better save receipts, etc. I was scammed out of a MacBook Pro and I had signature confirmation/delivery confirmation, insurance. The guy sent back an emtpy envelope with a tracking number. PayPal gave him his money back and let him keep my computer. After an entire summer, and threatening PayPal with small claims, they finally gave me my money back, including the PayPal fees.

I can only imagine trying to get back $90k. If this guy was smart, he'd do the deal in-person.

Reason I stopped using eBay. Got screwed over twice as seller and buyer. Buyer for getting empty boxes and seller for buyer claiming I sent empty boxes and all four times I lost.

But they really don't. ………..they said Macs don't get PC viruses, not that they don't get viruses.

Really? We both know what it means. They know what they actually said but we all know whet they are trying to say.
It’s like Microsoft releasing a new ad for Win10 and saying, “A great breakthrough in security only found in Windows 10 - No Mac viruses”.

It may very well be a prototype, but it sure did not come from Verizon, and it sure did not get shipped from Foxconn sealed in an Apple box.

This is tangential but my friend orderd Vans shoes online and inside the box next to the shoes was a Foxconn ID card for some chinese factory worker. He thinks it fell in there by accident

1. He is being sarcastic.

2. The bands, IMO are the most hideous of any iPhone design, ever.

3. He is being sarcastic.

Well said.

So true, I hate PayPal. They act as they are an escrow service when all they are supposed to do is send money to people.

only die hard fanatic apple fans who would really want to bid this.
Only die hard idiots would want this.
Honestly that's crazy. You'd have to be insane. Prototypes are worthless! I mean, if it's a pre-release concept car? BUY IT! But an iPhone?
If it's a prototype or an internal-only test unit, then I think there is value as a collectible or as a museum piece.

If it's a production unit that failed its tests or accidentally shipped before assembly was complete (or a fake,) then yes, it's probably worthless.

I wouldn't want to use it as my regular phone, but I can understand why someone would want it, depending on what it really is.
Can someone please tell me why they lightning connector would be red?
My guess is to distinguish it from a completed production unit. To make sure it doesn't accidentally ship to a customer.

If it's an actual prototype, it might indicate that this is not a normal Lightening connector. There might be a debug/test port in there instead of what normally ships.
Why it is red? because red = danger/defective, and this sticker should probably be removed after final software is loaded and all is OK. If the phone has it, it's not ready yet - I see this as a visual help for the workers, to easily identify the finished products.
...
Just checked my iPhone 5s - all the small text is laser printed, while the iPhone logo and the apple were made using a different process. It is very probable the laser engraving takes place right before the product is released, as it also contains the phone's IMEI so it's a custom text for every phone.
Your explanation of the process (and the red jack) makes a lot of sense.

WRT the laser etching, keep in mind also that the text there probably varies from country to country and maybe even from carrier to carrier (e.g. if the CDMA and GSM versions have identical hardware and only differ WRT firmware and microcode.) So it makes sense that the etching wouldn't take place until the build is complete.

Prototype or not. What value or purpose does this bring anyone now that the real phone has been released?

If he did indeed receive the unit through Verizon as a genuine order, Apple would have no grounds to claim it back or request the auction's removal, but that seems extremely unlikely.

More likely is this is a unit that was acquired somehow from development, and then Apple may have grounds to claim it as being stolen.

I think the seller has as much chance of the highest bidder actually paying up as I do for my iPhone 5S that I've already relisted 4 times.
If your 5s is priced right... it'll sell immediately. The basics of selling in the market all revolve around price and condition. What fails to sell is mostly overpriced. It's not what you think is worth, it's what the market will pay.

kimberlyk1018 has some sexy looking man-hands.
kimberlyk is actually a north korean spy:
kim be(e) r(i) lyk (like) 1018 (short for October 18 which is when U.S. officials said that North Korea's military has informed the People's Republic of China it intends to carry out a series of underground nuclear tests)

Still, might provide some sort of info that could help.

No. That would be like looking at an empty file folder to glean what the paper file (which was never in the folder to begin with) had printed on it.

They have removed the iphone from ebay.

I think that Apple has take this issue on their hands.

Soon we will know what was the issue from the seller because he likes to speak with the press.
