That's allot of money..

Are people nuts ?? Seriously, you'd rather spend that amount of money on a phone than be have a good deposit for a roof over your head ?

So, Apple did sent this user one by accident.. Why not just say that instead of making it sound like Apple does NOT send these at all.. when they did..

That's a definitive no.... but if they it was said "Apple tries not to sent these out"

That, i would believe.

If your 5s is priced right... it'll sell immediately. The basics of selling in the market all revolve around price and condition. What fails to sell is mostly overpriced. It's not what you think is worth, it's what the market will pay.

It can't be overpriced if it's an auction! That's the purest form of markets in action. My point was that it keeps selling, but that the winning bidders never pay up.

You sure your shipping info is right?

You'd have to be a fool to buy this. It looks like someone took an iPhone 6, roughed it up a bit to make it look unfinished.

But some moron will buy this.

Why is someone a moron for wanting to buy this. If they really believe its a prototype and are a collector....\

Remember there are many people with huge bankrolls. $100,000
is nothing to them. Hey Im sure lots of people spend lots of $$$ on stuff that
others think is a complete waste of money.

I used to have a $15,000 stereo system. Loved it. My family thought I was crazy. To each their own.:)

It takes 3 people to make this hype

Guys,

The bids are fake. Here's how 3 people can do such thing:
1. User 1 lists it as a seller
2. User 2 submits a bid for $88,000, ebay will keep it at starting price
3. User 3 submits another bid for $89,000, outbidding user 2 and raising the price

And if the auction ends with User 3 still winning, user 1 can simply file a 'the buyer and I decided not to complete the transaction' claim and get their ebay final value fee back.

Ok, but what's the point of doing that?
If it was for forcing the price go up, high reserve and one fake bid would be sufficient.

I see this morning it is gone. Says no longer available not sold. Not surprised.

Really? We both know what it means. They know what they actually said but we all know whet they are trying to say.

Yeah it means Macs don't get PC viruses.

Remember that the statement was made during the Mac v PC campaign. An ad campaign designed around taking the most comment complaints about Windows and highlighting that Macs were nothing like that. One big complaint was all the viruses that Windows was getting hit with.

The reverse doesn't work because there are many five Mac viruses in the wild. So great that Windos 10 can't get those. But what about the 50 gazillion Windows viruses.

You having the same issue as me selling your iPhone 5S? I've never had this issue selling an old iPhone before. Demand for the 6 must be crazy this year.

On top of that my iPhone 5S is jailbroken so it usually adds to the appeal of the phone on eBay.

On topic: A fool and his money is soon parted they say.... But I think the bids are just trolling at this point.

p.s. Love my iPhone 6! The curved edges on the screen is magnificent! I'm liking the design all round its really grown on me. I still think the iPhone 4 (albiet small screen) is the best designed iPhone looks wise. Glass back and front was sexy.

I sold my 64GB iPhone 5S on ebay recently for $525. Considering I had paid $575 for it new (Virgin Mobile online firesale), I thought I made out tremendously well. At what price are you looking to sell it at? My best advice would be to create a reserve auction and start at 99 cents. Otherwise there's too many iPhones on ebay to find a buyer.

Interesting that it has a QR reader amongst all the dev apps. If Apple preinstalled this on all retail iPhones it would really boost adoption of QR codes. At the moment most people don't bother to download a separate app

.

The kind of people who are splashing the cash for this are not the sort of people who need to worry about keeping a roof over their head. Its a collectors item, you may as well ask why people spend millions on paintings and sculptures

There are many many secrets available in the test software with many many insights into the walled garden. Get this into the right people's hands and it can absolutely assist with a jailbreak.

Publicity (it worked) and to generate interest. Maybe he's hoping a sucker will outbid the fake bids

kimberlyk is actually a north korean spy:
kim be(e) r(i) lyk (like) 1018 (short for October 18 which is when U.S. officials said that North Korea's military has informed the People's Republic of China it intends to carry out a series of underground nuclear tests)

Holy hell. Brilliant!

Reason I stopped using eBay. Got screwed over twice as seller and buyer. Buyer for getting empty boxes and seller for buyer claiming I sent empty boxes and all four times I lost.

I was a member from 1998 until this year when I cancelled my account. I knew I was in trouble when they were taking the word of guys with 3 feedback to my 1100+. I got rid of both my eBay and PayPal account after they got hacked and didn't tell anyone for weeks. Because I mainly used them as of late to sell my Apple products when I upgrade, and because you can't buy/sell anything Apple these days without being scammed, they were of no use to me. I'll take a hit in price with Gazelle, but it's a hassle-free transaction for the most part.

Wait until the guy gets hit with the final value fee and finds out the guy who won doesn not intend on paying. And if he does, wants it shipped to Russia, or offers the guy 10x the amount if he will ship it to his "guy." Nothing bad can come of this auction.

Oops.... he took it down.

Im just longing for the day when there's an Apple thread that doesnt have some jerk-wagon injecting their "bend" comments and thinking its still remotely funny...

New target date: mid-2015.

Sorry bud, it's almost 2016 here and it's still happening :/
