Upgrading from a 16GB iP5 to the 64GB iP6S will be sheer bliss for me. The 5 is horrendously slow compared to the 5S, let alone the 6.

Going from 512mB --> 2GB, yay! It doesn't matter what the phone has or does not have, I'm well due an upgrade so I'll be buying anyway.

Should spend more time learning about the specs your phone has. Then you'll sound slightly less foolish.

Whats amazing on the S' years leaks? Every released leaks are just like looking at the previous year phone, boring..

Didn't you hear? There's going to be an iPhone 6S Edition model for the gaudy and pretentious. Bet you're jazzed now, eh?

Based on these speculations, I'd wait for the 7, but the battery life (or lack thereof) on my 5 makes me nuts. I suppose I could look into one of the external battery packs as an option...

Well...
If nothing is impressive with 6 vs 5 to you, sure... wait.
I'm curious what exactly it takes to impress you though, as there is a TON of ridiculously good hardware improvements in the two iterations you've skipped. Personally, I think TouchID by itself makes it worth it.

Actually, I'm impressed pretty easily, Tycho! It's more about financial considerations, and the fact that I tend to hold on to electronics for a while before upgrading. I think that I'll just have to wait and see what is actually released.

(By the way, I had a flip phone for a very long time before I took the plunge to the iPhone almost three years ago - yup, I hold onto things for a while!)

If your iPhone 5 has a bad battery... you should replace it. It doesn't look very difficult.

I couldn't put up with poor battery life for another year while I waited for the iPhone 7 in late 2016.

But that's me :)

Well, when you put it that way 2016 is farther away than I'm anticipating :D

it needs about 2 full charges a day, and at least it charges up pretty fast, but it also loses it. Before anyone asks, I've taken it to the Genius Bar and have been told there's nothing wrong with it. And I shut down apps like crazy and have done a hard reinstall, too. I realize that twice a day isn't the worst thing in the world...

I use a Mophie keyring battery that adds 50% for £40 (about $60).

Still the same big and ugly bezels, but I guess that is expected with the "s" treatment. I am really hoping that Apple is really working hard on the iPhone 7 design, cause the current design is the ugliest ever and the only reasons it sold was the available sizes, but aesthetically they are horrible.

What has happened to MIC Gadget? I understand they revamped but who's writing the articles? Its in Google Translate/Broken english.

Changing the battery costs $20 around here, yes they do it for you for this price! (even expensive places have it for $30). Change the battery.

There's a difference between making a mistake and purposefully stating false facts, friend. No need to be hostile.

I made a mistake and stand corrected. That said, Apple still revealed the amount of RAM in some cases... so the earlier argument that Apple "never" reveals the amount of RAM is also demonstrably FALSE! ;)

You stated things AS FACTS. Good grief, read your own posts.
You talked about people clapping like you actually watched it happen.
Seriously! Come on!

You really want me to investigate every single Iphone, Ipad, Ipod launch to trace if they actually mentioned RAM in any of them?

Since you're again affirming something, without a link, it is like your begging me to do it?

OK... 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 5s, 6 no announcements about Ram at Keynote and on Web site (its Fixit and others teardown that found the memory size). Just look for fixit teardown (whatever model) and you'll see them confirm memory for all those phones. They wouldn't need to confirm it if Apple actually announced it...
Can look at Ipad and Ipod.... Got the feeling we will get the same thing.

Not even sure they do it with their desktop and laptops at keynotes, I don't own those (though for sure they put it on the web site).

Hard to tell from the pics, but did Apple think to move the power button back to its original location? Putting the power button on the opposite side of the volume switches has to be one of the most boneheaded design decisions Apple has ever made. If I had a nickel for every time I've put my phone to sleep when trying to adjust the volume....
And when I want to put phone into sleep, I often end up with adjusting volumes unintentionally.

Again, I must have mistaken it for something else during the keynote. And again: there is no need to be so hostile, especially since I already acknowledged I made a mistake.

Ouch, so much anger, but please go on...

Ouch, you made a mistake here... if you read back my original post, you'll see that I was also talking about WWDC developer sessions. Not only just the website or keynote. Please stay with the FACTS.

Talking about facts, they do sometimes reveal the RAM amount in these developer sessions. For the iPhone 4, for example, it was revealed in Session 147.

(its Fixit and others teardown that found the memory size). Just look for fixit teardown (whatever model) and you'll see them confirm memory for all those phones. They wouldn't need to confirm it if Apple actually announced it...

For their desktops and notebooks, they do reveal the amount of RAM. You could have easily checked this since it is easy visible on the Apple website.
Please stay with the facts and not with what you 'might feel or think is the case' (I did the same and you also wanted me to stay with the facts ;)).

Thanks for reading.

Well of course they have bezels. Something has to accommodate touch ID and the home button. And Apple will never make a phone with asymmetric bezels.

My old iPhone 5s is like that, too and always has been. It's my daughter's phone now and she has to deal with it.

She still prefers the 5s to my 6Plus because she thinks the placement of the power button on my 6Plus is a very harebrained design decision. I have to agree. I have a heck of a time taking screenshots on my 6Plus. I keep turning it off instead. I never had that problem on my 5s or my iPad. Everyone was so excited about the bigger screens on the 6 and 6Plus that a lot of people overlook the fact this wasn't the best design it could have been. It needed just a touch more attention to picky little details and it would have been close to perfect. I have high hopes for IPhone 7s. I don't think I'll go for the 7 because my experience with my 6Plus has taught me the S iteration is always the phone you'd have hoped it would be upon introduction.
