Assuming it's the size of the current Plus, it's an intriguing device for sure. I prefer my X size over my previous Plus, but a 6.5" screen would be a real delight for the eyes.

Really? I'm all for Macs getting Face ID, but do you actually want them to have notches as well? It's bad enough (but tolerable) on a phone, but a notch at the top of a Mac display would be really distracting!

The current MacBook bezels (ignoring the Air) are already thin enough!

They could just blend it in with the menu bar so wouldn't affect anything, just keep all menu bar items on one side and have icons etc on the other side of notch.

This is not a Phone, it is a Phablet. Phablets are not for me. I prefer the iPad - Phone - Combo

I’m torn. I think I’d enjoy the Plus model, but I wish I could see it in person before preorders start in September. I guess if the Keynote announcement gives me a good enough idea of its size in one’s hand, that’ll work.

And my wife actually just got me a man purse (or satchel, as I call it) a week ago (for my iPad and stuff), so I might be prepared for this one.

It would be interesting if the Plus shared certain features with the iPad, like it could use the Pencil, do the same multitasking and download iPad versions of apps. Not sure that it would be a game changer, but it would be pretty cool nonetheless. Maybe it would replace the iPad Mini in a way, if that line gets discontinued for good.

[doublepost=1519574414][/doublepost]I am not sure it is real or fake but I am 90% sure that there is no iPhone X plus name phone is gonna release by apple there will be iPhone 9 or some thing not x or x plus.
I'm like 95 % sure you're wrong.

And maybe 75 % sure that we'll see devices called "iPhone X (2nd generation)" and "iPhone X Plus", and that there'll never be an "iPhone 9"

Samsung revealed the S9 today. They're doing some very interesting things over there. Then I came here and see another article featuring a "notch" in the potential design.

New photos claimed to be of the rumored 6.5-inch "iPhone X Plus" screen and digitizer have been shared on the MacX forums [Google Translate], with the poster claiming the parts come from a "trial run of production equipment" at LG's facilities in Vietnam.

The first photo shows a single digitizer held in a person's hand, and the overall size certainly appears larger than an iPhone X part, while the relative size of the notch to the digitizer's width is slightly different than on the iPhone X. At least one rumor has, however, claimed the second-generation iPhone X could have a smaller notch, so we shouldn't necessarily expect the notch-to-display proportions to be the same between iPhone X generations.

The digitizer includes a flex cable at the bottom of the part for connecting to the iPhone's logic board, and the part number printed on the cable is similar to the format typically used by Apple.

An apparent date code also shown on the flex cable points to a production date in the 46th week of 2017, which would correspond to mid-November, so this isn't a particularly recent part although there could be substantial lag between digitizer production and the part's incorporation into a full display assembly.

The second photo shows a tray containing a set of four assembled display/digitizer components. Again, the size appears larger than the corresponding iPhone X part based on the relative size of the small earpiece slot visible on one of the parts. The rear design of the part is also very similar but not identical to the iPhone X display assembly.

Samsung is the exclusive supplier of OLED displays for the iPhone X, but previous rumors have indicated LG could become the supplier for the so-called iPhone X Plus this year, so the purported location of these photos at LG's plant in Vietnam fits with those rumors. Apple has reportedly invested billions of dollars to help LG get its OLED display production up and running to increase overall supplies and give Apple more flexibility in not needing to rely solely on Samsung.

Apple is rumored to be launching three new iPhones around the usual September timeframe this year: a second-generation iPhone X with the same 5.8-inch OLED display size, a larger "iPhone X Plus" with a 6.5-inch OLED display, and a new LCD-based model with a similar full-face display to the iPhone X design but measuring about 6.1 inches.

[doublepost=1519590127][/doublepost]I had a Plus and was a bit disappointed when I found out there wouldn’t be a Plus model for the X. Now that I got the X, I’m happy with its size. It feels about perfect. There are times I’m using one hand and I’m happy I don’t have to deal with something larger.

That said, we’ll see how it looks, maybe I’ll transition, as I did when the Plus originally came out. Nothing I’m going to jump on too quickly though, will wait it out 2 years.

Bit early to start making these?

Could we see a earlier release to stifle the comp. and increase the lacklustre iPhone sales?

Lackluster sales? Most companies would give several C level executives for the sales that Apple does every quarter.

Who needs pant pockets when you've got the iPhone XXX. If need be, get a heavy duty chain and carry it around your neck. Show the world your new suitcase-sized bling. ;)
It’s for people who like the larger sized iPhones. Would it surprise you to know it’ll be the same physical size as the current Plus?

another flop with that notch.. good job apple if its true... You couldn't sell the hyped X with $1000 mark, what makes you think you'll sell X plus with even a higher price tag...

LOL.. apple lost it...

The X is selling fine, though, so...

lol at “flop”—don’t let rumors or Apple hate get in the way of facts.

The X was a huge hit, raising iPhone ASP to a record $795.

The 2018 X will be priced at $899-949, and the X Plus somewhere in the $999-1,099 range. They’ll sell very well; I wouldn’t be surprised if both models didn’t each outsell the 2017 X. Q1F2019 will again be a record breaking quarter.

What wasted screen real estate? - up to their own row where?

They;'re at the top, they can't go any higher, the reason for the notch is to NOT waste screen space. What before would have had to be about 96 pixels or more for a static bar at the top of the screen with information is now pushed up into the corners of what would have been a black bezel. The notch solves two problems in one. I'm not sure you understand how this works.

Like this:

I can't justify replacing an iPhone 7 and 7+ that my wife and I are using for the iPhone X+. Two of those phones will cost as much as Mac Book Pro which I need as well.

Stop increasing the sizes!! :(

Apple's infatuation with bigger screens and thinner phones at the cost of features will be its undoing.

Would be better to offer an iPhone mini, normal iPhone and a plus model. Stick to 3 screen sizes and that’ll do. iPhone lineup looks messy. Steve wouldn’t be happy

Steve would be very unhappy. He didn't believe in having so many sku's.

Why? All of a sudden people want to see a notch on everything?

The notch was/is an undesirable design compromise to get rid of touchid for an edge to edge display. It is not a feature, like touchid, that should migrate to other products.

Just move them up to their own row and give users the wasted screen real estate back.
I don't think customers would appreciate going back to a bigger bezel, either.
And what do you mean by "back", there has never been more vertical screen real estate.
