Claimed Next-Generation iPad Cases Suggest Rear-Facing Camera, SD Card Slot?

The first image at the top makes the case look a little too square to me, I hope it's just a little distortion of the image. The second image, showing the black and white cases in their plastic bags makes them look more normal but given the angle of the photo, it could potentially make them look longer than they actually are.
Depending on capabilities and resolution, rear camera makes perfect sense. The iPad could become an excellent video camera and editing suite for personal stuff. Add to it all the music/movies/apps and further ability to do art and data entry for business...

I'll probably wait for the 3rd or 4th version, unless I absolutely love where it goes before then. I'd like a little higher res and a few other pro-programs (trimmed for the iPad) coming along.

A back facing camera? While taking pictures on a vacation last week, my location was inundated by a bus full of Chinese tourist. One girl on the tour was taking pictures with a Samsung galaxy tablet, and in practice, it looked really stupid.

- I think Apple will include a front-facing camera in iPad 2. If they do include a rear-facing camera then the rumored protective case does not include a cutout for the flash...
Also, how is it that so many people mistook this to be the rumored actual case of the iPad and not a rumored protective case cover?

No way, the iPhone 3GS is far better looking than the fragile, squared off iPhone 4. One of the several reasons that I returned my iPhone 4 after two days is that it felt uncomfortable to hold compared to my iPhone 3G and the flat glass back seemed like form way over function. I got a 3GS and am happy over the decision.
Also, doesn't plastic offer a better radio antenna cover? Note the complaints about poor performance with all-aluminum Macs. My MBP 15's wireless performance is really bad compared to my work mate's HP laptop.

An SD slot would be just the nuts. Right now the big three would be access to and the playback of Movie files, audio/music and possibly games. Support for apps to read and write files would be nice too but is not a big deal.
All in all it is nice to see the leaks start. Now if they would just get to the important stuff like what will the SoC be like!!!!

Look at your iPad's dock connector, then look at the size of this case's dock connector.

Seriously! Get mad all you want, tard. Like most other people commenting on this, I SKIMMED it, thought about it for a half sec, posted, noticed it was a CASE, and didn't even care enough of it to edit the post...

And you obviously didn't read the article or you would have noticed this is an iPad 2 CASE.
This again?? There are uses for a dual-camera setup OTHER THAN just taking still photos. iOS Facetime client is designed for dual-camera devices, where a user can switch between front-facing and back-facing camera views. There are also various augmented reality or scanner apps (e.g. Chase banking app) that depend on back-facing cameras.
Bottom line is - no one will be forcing you take photos with your iPad, but dual-cameras will still be there for other purposes.
Don't you buy cases for an iPhone? Don't you buy cases for an iPad? I don't know how people can mistake the meaning of a case.
And it's all about YOU and what devices YOU use, right? Majority of the cameras that were bought in this century use SD cards. It's the reason why Apple now includes SD slots in the MacBooks.
I hadn't thought of the augmented reality stuff. One thing other thing it might be used for: barcode scanning. I have to keep inventory @ work & an iPad would be a good size to do it on. Small & light enough to carry around, but large enough so you can actually see what you're doing. Plus, one piece unlike a laptop so you don't keep having to open & close the lid or risk bumping it into something & breaking the lid off. Where I work, I've seen that happen.
As for the SD slot, I would like it, even if it's just for importing pictures. Let's hope it's SDXC compatible, not just SDHC. Little forward looking. While I don't think Apple will make it possible to put data onto to share between it & other iPads/computers, I would like it if they did.

iPad2 need to be awesome....... the competition is gaining momentum and apple will lose sales to other tablets with "more" bells & whistles
