I think the fingernail could use some trimming.
I am also sure someone already commented on said fingernail.

It's a regional thing, not something I expect you to understand. It's not uncommon to see men with grown thumb and/or pinky fingernails in certain Asian countries.

It looks great, but when you have the phone 3 years it gets boring. I am sure cars 30yrs ago looked awesome too.

Apple isn't interested in alleviating your boredom. They are interested in making better products. If a redesign does not accomplish that, they'll leave it alone.

Apple is perfectly content leaving designs alone, or making minor teeaks, when they think they've "got it." Look at the Mac Pro, iMac, and their Airport products.

But if something works perfectly and is essentially an industry standard, then why replace it for something that is not superior, just different? I understand technology evolves, but evolution implies upgraded function, not just change for s**ts and giggles.

It is superior. Less space = more room for other things, like better speakers. There are probably other benefits we'll find out about later. Do you really think Apple is going to change something as well established as the dock connector for "***** and giggles"? Of course they have a good reason.

3 things:

1. The headphone port on the bottom works very well, I have a Touch and am speaking from experience.

2. The data port looks too big to be micro-USB. I'll be pretty salty if it turns out to have micro-USB, as I've given all my old ones away. :(

3. The dude holding the phone in the last pic has a might fine coke nail...

If this two-tone design is the future iPhone, I think I'll use the money to buy something else this year. Maybe a new TV! - Wait a minute!!! -

Apple, are you making an ugly phone just to make me buy your new television? Are you? ARE YOU?!

You know the functionality is the same from just seeing a cut out for the port?

It's the same thing with the new Macbook Pro. Getting rid of all the standard ports and going with a thunderbolt port only, just so the machine can be 2mm thinner, doesn't provide any sort of "evolved" or increased functionality; it actually removes functionality compared to the current generation.

The new Macbook Pro won't be Thunderbolt only. I'm not sure where you got that idea from.

You're all the same, iPhone 4 got leaked:

Can't be Apple, can't possibly be this ugly, this isn't Apple.

iPhone 4 gets release, OMG I AM GETTING ONE

While I am sure SOME folks are that way, there are actually those of us who love Apple, but truly do not care for a design and really do NOT go purchase the latest.

Yep. The iPhone's success is attributed largely to its software (iOS), not the hardware. People seem to forget that.

GROSS!

I have not seen an Apple product of recent years that uses gigantic holes for the speaker grills.

Didn't the prototype iPads have huge speaker holes too but they became smaller like the MacBook Pros in the final product. I'm pretty sure Jonny has the sense to nt use huge holes. Ones like the MacBook Pros would be nice because they are small enough to prevent dust accumulation.

As for the earphone placement, I personally like it on the top because I out the phone in my pocket with the screen facing my thigh so when I want to glance at my phone, I just pull the headphone cord up and I get to see the time with the screen right side up. I don't know why you guys are flipping the phone 180 degrees for.

That's actually what I thought when the iPad 3 was released.

EDIT: Seems like that was just a prototype. Looks a bit better in the final version:

Also, think about how you put it in your pocket while listening to music. I always put my phone in my pocket top down when not using headphones, so that when I reach in and grab it and hold it up the phone is in the right orientation. If using headphones the top of the phone is up in my pocket soas to not bind up the headphones, but if I reach in and grab it I have to reorient it so that it's correct.
Exactly. The response to having the headphone jack on the bottom should be "Finally!" not "Wtf?" Makes so much more sense from a usability standpoint.

In the previous years, AT&T have allowed people to upgrade up to a maximum of 6 months within the termination date.

They did this one year only for the relase of the iPhone 4 when they were trying to lock in customers before Verizon also got the 4.

The two-tone finish is not just a two-tone finish.
It's two different materials. Apple patented that method of bonding different materials so they would truly be seamless and this is simply the first real world example.
A truly seamless bond might even appear to be nothing more than a two-tone finish to the parts source.

so you want to keep the same display size?

wouldn't it be funny if they kept the same screen size but had to lengthen the phone to incorporate LTE and a larger battery for more ridiculous talk time.

double your talk time at the cost of 3 inches in your pocket... this came out all wrong.

The only thing I want to know is if they fixed that ****** plastic lens cover with something countersunk and preferably glass. Absolutely worthless design that got so scratched, I just ended up removing it.

If you look closely at that fingernail, you can see it is contoured.
Some people on this board have foolishly assumed that this fingernail is the same size as the current generation.
I also have it on good authority that this nail will come in black, white, and several other undisclosed colors that are FABULOUS!

Before you guys say "Apple would NEVER...." I recall a time before the iPhone 4 came out that Apple would never make a phone with "gaps" in the antenna band and surely enough they left them in the production iPhone 4 and the successor 4S. Apple will design as they see fit and you will buy it or you won't.

Touch panel on the back?

I don't know if anyone's said this yet in this thread, but that back panel looks a lot like my trackpad. Just saying'...
