Because it was the 4th Generation iPhone. So why did 4 come after 3GS?

But then what do you call the next one? The "new new iPhone"? And then in 5 years, i'd order a "new new new new new new iPhone"?
The only problem I see if the iPhone 5 is LTE you need a LTE nano SIM.I've trimmed down a standard sim to fit in the 4S (company provided sim) - will i be able to trim this micro sim down further to a nano sim???

If you have a 3G micro SIM and want to cut it down to a nano SIM the SIM would still be 3G. You would have to trim down a LTE micro SIM to LTE nano SIM size.

Seriously, how can it be new when the new generation comes? It's very logical thing! New generation is the latest. Past that are the old ones. When there is a new product, the previously "new" one automaticly becomes old. Why is so hard to see it?
Because it was the 4th Generation iPhone.
They might call it the 2017 iPhone, much like the 2009 MBP.But then what do you call the next one? The "new new iPhone"? And then in 5 years, i'd order a "new new new new new new iPhone"?

I didn't realize the band has that grey/blue tint. I thought it was lighting in the picture or a tint due to being a prototype. Yes I know I've seen it many times. No need to be so condescending.
The 4S is the 5th Generation iPhone. Not the "iPhone 5." The 6th Generation iPhone could be called iPhone 5, however, I do not believe it will. It will probably be called iPhone.
Kind of like the iPod touch or Nano. Which did not have numbers following.

Can we assume the color is explained by the fact this is a prototype piece, or does it say something about the new iPhone? Or is that tray not visible from the outside of the phone?
